Thank you all so far for your support and comments. Answers to common questions below:
1. "Just lower the quality and do them faster."
A. We will not compromise on quality, actually we aim to go up from here. We didn't get to where we are by cutting corners, if we're not proud of our work we won't release it, simple.
2. "I can wait for 2 years per episode."
A. We can't, unfortunately if we are not able to crowd fund the needed amount to keep the production going, episode 5 will be our final episode.
3. "Reach out to X group/person"
A. Apart from Mark Reymer, we will not be partnering with any other team(s) for the forseeable future, we are working on bringing you the best adaptation of Kentaro Miura's work possible. For that we need to stay focused and as a small but dedicated team. We respect and appreciate the Berserk communities efforts to do similar projects, but we have a very specific vision here.

Every Berserk fan knows the waiting game, but now it's time to take action. Enjoying all this content for free was a luxury. If we genuinely want to see more, it is only fair to support it just like we pay for a movie at the theater. :)
My dudes, I am saying this with absolute sincerity. Asides from the 1997 anime, this is the only adaptation of the late Mr Miura's work that gives it the respect and care of craft that it deserves and you all should be exceptionally proud of yourselves.
Now regarding the timeframe of releases, I won't lie and say that it could be better and that it's a bit of a drag waiting for a new release. But on the otherside of the coin, the amount of time and effort you all pour into the motion comics is definative proof of the admiration and respect for the original work and it's creator, not to mention that it's a good indicator for quality.
Unfortunately I am not currently in a position in which I am able to financially help support your work (I am currently my disabled mum's full time carer and the little money I do receive for doing it is entirely swallowed up in our monthly outgoings), but that situation is currently in flux and as such once I get back to a position of independence and employment I will be more than happy to be a member of your patreon.
Lastly I just want to express my gratitude and admiration for what you are doing here. It goes beyond my simple enjoyment of the end product, thanks to my limited experience in editing software, image editing software and audio recording and engineering I have some understanding of the monumental amount of work that must go into the production of a single episode and that is something for which I am exceptionally grateful for.
I wish you all nothing but success and happiness in your lives both professionally and personally and thank you again for helping to keep the art and imagination of Kentaro Miura alive and in the public consciousness, I am certain that he too would be happy with what you have produced.

I never comment on yt but I had to give y'all my support. Insane that these motion comics are done out of a passion project as opposed to a huge studio. Y'all should be proud of the art you've put out. I can't wait to see how high this studio will fly - also, I noticed your other videos have the old, outdated link to your patreon. I would definetly appreciate if you're episodes came out faster, BUT to me quality is also the most important thing. So all I could ask of you is to please keep up the supreme quality of your work. I will also gladly wait if it means, that you do your work with pride and honor 😊😊😊

Your videos are insanely good, best berserk content by far. My advice is that you put better thumbnails to attract more views. Studio ARCHE released the same fan made video as yours (part 4) and they already have 230k views
Or to put it simply better advertisement. With most fan animation or studios get their attraction is probably because of youtube recommendation. Like you can search up berserk animation and studio taka will be deep down while the first one to show is markreymer, second following ARCHE ( honestly, its a bit clunky, i dont really like it for now )
Im totaly clueless on how the youtube algorithim works, so besides your advice id say that showing little sneak peaks now and then could work, its like being even more engaged with the community

@@WeWillAlwaysHaveVALIS Nooo I typed that in a wrong way. They made a fan made video about the same part as studio Taka’s part 4 (Little girl killing her grandfather and Guts fighting all those skeletons) but with much worse quality and they got more views

Respectfully, to all the people saying they're okay with long waits between episodes: Studio Taka isn't. They don't owe us anything. Personally, I feel more like I owe them something, so I signed on to the Patreon.
You should not worry about taking time to do your work, we can wait entire months just for a chapter of Berserk to come out, we can also wait for you to polish this beautiful project that you are doing 💖

I'm lowkey mad that so many comments are saying that Studio Taka "shouldn't feel bad about a slow production" and "we're okay with waiting, so that's it". Studio Taka is just way too polite to clearly express that HARD WORK needs to be paid. It has been a luxury to get all of the animation so far for free. The audacity to insinuate that the video is some kind of apology that could be accepted by the viewers is beyond me. Sorry, just needed to get that off my chest. 😅

The issue is that we literally can't continue without being able to pay the bills. Keeping a team together for 2-3 years with intermittent work is just not doable these days.

I always feared someone elses artstyle would take over if they did a berserk project but this is literally kentaro miuras work animated. I think it is widely agreed upon that YOUR quality is 1000% worth more than any amount of quantity. If 2 years is the necessary need for waiting then it is understood. But paying the talent is also a huge must as well. I have never considered making a patreon account before because of my own financial problems, but for you guys i think THIS is worth it to go ahead and make one. The work you guys put into this motion comic is legendary and that alone is worth helping you guys out.

I hear you guys. But I actually dropped the patreon. I didn't receive any updates for over a year. I was actually surprised when ep 4 came out because I thought the studio had stopped. If I re sub I would just ask that there isn't another year long dead silence. We're Berserk Fans we already do enough waiting 😆.
We completely understand you dropping the Patreon, however we have completely changed our approach so if you do resubscribe expect to get updated frequently and episodes will be released at a significantly faster pace!

one thing I forgot to tell you is that I love your voice! Puck has the best voice in this adaptation. Guts' s voice is my second favourite.
My other take is that maybe doing this in after effects inst very practical. Studio Teka should try Opentoonz or Tahoma 2D, they're the same program but Tahoma es more intuitive. They're open source and free, maybe it helps whith the production speed. You can animate both traditionally and do puppets. You can draw whith raster or vectors. You can even manipulate still images to make them bend and move, you have camera options and perspective tools, automatic lip sync, automatic inbetweening, and of course tweening, diferent layouts for diferent stages of the production, and more... I think doing this in after effects is more trouble than it's worth and using TAHOMA 2D may help you speed the process since is an animation software while after effects is for motion graphics. Your animation is mostly cutout so I think you can do the same thing and maybe faster in tahoma AND be able to draw when needed.
I don't know what else could help but I think the studio has a problem whith the method used. I know it's nice to use a program one is familiar whith and learning to use another one is daunting, so at least check TAHOMA out and see if at least one of its features could come in handy.
I don't know, maybe you want to rotoscope your own animations.
Cascadeur is another animation software but for creating 3D animation. It's main appeal is it's auto physics features that apply to the human body and making posing and animating people easier, since the software compensates poses and simulates gravity, making very impressive animations whith ease, a noob can make a realistic jump or fight animation, its crazy. You can use it if you need to create a cool sword attack and rotoscope it.
I don't know, at least check out TAHOMA 2D, 2 years per episode is a lot, use technology to help you as much as you can
