Hi Mick, I just found your channel, searching for Aston Martin DB5, and here I am. You love a challenge! I'm heading over to watch the follow up videos now. You got me hooked! Greetings from Switzerland - Andrew
I saved up 17/6 (thats' 17 shillings and sixpence in imperial) way back in 1966 for this iconic little toy car. I was 7 years old. It cost me nearly 9 months of doing chores, odd jobs, cleaning this and that and a myriad of other really crappy jobs. Proudly I stood with my mum and handed my money (all in sixpence pieces or tanners to those who can remember) over to the toy store keeper who passed me over the little silver boxed car. I had word so hard for that little car, I was ecstatic with it. I examined every little detail.... the pop up rear bullet proof shield, the pop out machine guns and battering ram, and of course the amazing pop out roof and super ejector seat complete with flying bad guy. Proudly I played with it on the first day outside our house. I turned my back to answer my mum and my dear sister with several well aimed blows neatly smashed the car to bits with a brick she had found, she was jealous. I'm nearly 60 now, I never forgave her for that one. Some things are simply beyond forgiving and this was one of them.
