Oh you are a lifesaver. Thank you so much. I am using my microphone right now. So I can tell you that if you ever need to demonstrate anything while you are on your text messaging app just message yourself so then you're not showing anybody's sensitive information but in that aspect it may show your personal information but just a heads up same thing if you ever need to save something you can also send it to yourself through text message so just type in your own number or just send it to yourself through Facebook Messenger and it will come up on there. That is how I actually save a lot of the videos or things that I want to keep yet don't want to keep them in a list on RUclips or something.
This video is still helping people today! I have no clue how it happened, but this morning, I lost my microphone icon on my keypad. I could not, for the life of me, figure out how to get it back, as like you said, everything is counterintuitive in settings. All good now. 👍

This video is the only one that has actually fixed the problem with my mother’s phone. She took it back to the cell phone store and they told her that it could not be fixed and that she needed a new phone within 2 1/2 minutes you were able to fix the problem thank you very much for posting this.

On my Galaxy S6 I had to hold down a different icon (in the place my microphone should have been) on my text keyboard, to get the menu with the microphone, but I never would have figured this out without you. I tried so many other suggestions that didn't work Thank you!
"Counterintuitive" is absolutely right, Jason! I was at my wit's end trying to solve this. It was working fine one day, and then "What the heck happened? Where is that strip with the mic that's been missing for about a week?!" Like others, I have spent hours in research, verifying my settings (which can also be challenging because different Androids/ages have different settings/layouts). I was just about to give up when your video popped up in a small window. TG I didn't hit the "x" to close it! This solved my problem, and I am grateful that you shared it. Thank you so much!! I don't know why the strip suddenly disappeared several days ago, but suspect a software update. When I checked that as one of the troubleshooting suggestions, almost instantaneously I got a message that I was at the current version.

I'm replying here in 2024, so many years later, and this STILL helped me figure it out more than Google. On my keyboard, instead of holding down the comma, it was a little keyboard icon in the very bottom left of the keyboard. (For google messages) I have been stumped by this for 2 weeks, so thank you so much!!! I hate using my keyboard when I text. This video has genuinely been a lifesaver for this ancient millennial.😂

This is perfect for me. I looked at least an hour or two and it seems I went everywhere around text correction/show suggestion strip. My microphone is on my keyboard again and I'm very happy!

Thank you. My S22 Ultra just did this to me. I found voice input option as you showed but it is not on the keyboard. It's at the bottom of my screen at the left side now. As long as it's there now I'm happy.

I have been trying for 3 hours to find the answer to this I watched four different videos and then I found yours by accident, I am so happy I did you are the only one that could figure out how I fix this on my phone everybody said to go to language and input and hit this and that and the other thing and none of that worked but you told me to hit the comma I was trying to hit hold the one two three I was trying to hold the the next line arrow and everything I couldn't figure it out but thanks to you.. I DID IT!! I'm subscribing right now. Thanks again!!

I'm replying here in 2024, so many years later, and this STILL helped me figure it out more than Google. On my keyboard, instead of holding down the comma, it was a little keyboard icon in the very bottom left of the keyboard. (For google messages) I have been stumped by this for 2 weeks, so thank you so much!!! I hate using my keyboard when I text. This video has genuinely been a lifesaver for this ancient millennial.😂
