    It sounds incredible for an OPF V8, Jaguar have done a great job on the exhaust despite having to comply with EU regulations 🔥

    Wenn du bei 2:08 nur kurz das Gas lupfst, kannst du dir dein Lichthupen-Feuerwerk sparen. Wenn Vollgas, dann bitte wie ein Profi. Spar dir die Eskalation für den Moment, wenn dich einer zur Vollbremsung nötigt und du mal kurz >100 km/h in Wärme verwandeln musst. Alternative: Sonntagnacht ist die A8 fast leer... 😉 Alles andere passt doch! 👍

    What a great tuning platform. I have a similar V8 S and the only problem has been the catalytic converters are to weak to last very long. They reduced the pops and crackles, maybe thats why. We have a federal government warranty that covers free replacements up to 80,000 miles or 8 years, but only if the car isn’t tuned. It presents a dilemma for those who like to modify their cars, because thats even harder on the cats and new ones are not cheap.
    VelocityAP makes a stronger cat, but it doesn’t sound the same and is super loud, sometimes not in a good way.

    • @munichscartester3733
      @munichscartester3733  2 года назад

      oh ok yeah that could be the reason why they reduced the crackles on the facelift, but i gotta say it still crackles more than any new bmw m or amg or rs model
      in germany there are no legal aftermarket cats or downpipes :( if you can change your original cats to 200 cell cats its much better for the engine and you have a louder exhaust

      I bought 200 cell VAP cats after mine died for the third time in 50K miles (tuned since 20K). I wanted to like the sound, but I just couldn’t. The cold start is painful, like a huge flatulent explosion. Acceleration under 3000 RPM sounds a little like a piston engine airplane and a little bit fart can. Above 3500 sounds great, though different. I loved the increased volume, except in the RPM ranges that didn’t sound great. Personally I think the stock car is too quiet, most if the time.
      I wound up welding in some 400 cells, and I think they are perfect. Only about 2x louder, instead of 3x. And the tone is half exotic/half muscle car and full on racing loud, incredible.
      Best of all, I checked them at 5k miles with no degradation at all to the honeycomb. Brand new OEM cats were already visibly damaged after 1000 miles with my 2 pulley tune.
      Another huge bonus is $125 per side. $60 per side to have them welded in.
      2.5” 400 cell cats from ZZPerformance (no affiliation).
      “ZZP brings you a high flowing premium core catalytic converter. It uses a high metal spun core. Testing on the flow bench and the dyno has shown these converters to out perform anything else currently available in the 3800 market. 400 cell is 5" in diameter and is 8.75" inches long.”

      @@munichscartester3733
      Mine is a 2014 so max loud and perhaps hardest on the cats. As long as you don’t flash the firmware, which permanently flips a bit and voids any warranty remaining, there is a Federal Emissions warranty that covers the cats and O2 sensors to 8 years or 80,000 miles. I got two sets under warranty, the total covered cost was a little over $4K per 2x cat replacement. Make sure to mark your cats before taking the car in, so you can verify you got new ones. Sometimes an O2 sensor will fix the CEL and they charge the Federal Emissions Warranty for a full cat replacement. Thats obviously bad if it happens near your warranty expiration and you are stuck with degraded cats. I think that happened to me.
      Also, new cats are stainless steel silver until they turn dark brown in a 100 miles.

      Driving timidly can be worse. At least the driver is engaged and paying attention. I’d rather have a road full of aggressive, attentive drivers than passive ones.
