My English teacher played this movie for us in class and as soon as the dagger appeared onscreen the entire class lost it. The teacher had to pause the movie because we were all laughing too hard.
I dont know wether the dagger that appears and disappears was a Polansky creativeness or was the way It was written but I like it very much and the manner Finch plays it. A good looking man but one of those times in the middle ages. Not one of modern times.
How long, how long will I slide? Separate my side, I don't I don't believe it's bad Slit my throat it's all I ever I heard your voice through a photograph I thought it up and brought up the past Once you know you can never go back I gotta take it on the other side
I remember I have to see four scenes (this was one of them) of this soliloquy and my English professor made us choose who did the soliloquy better and have much feeling to it. I forgot what I chose but this one is really good.
Making Macbeth literally so attractive 🥰and his voice so seductive 🐍❤️mean creating a great confusion in our minds 💞💫💫💫💞🙎🏻♀️!! Hypnotic fact: 😵💫1:41-1:42 He chants the word "bloody🩸", but I was mesmerized by this enchanted pose of him and his beauty💘💫💫!! He looks like a prince 😍!! God save me! I am falling in love with him❤️🙎🏻♀️!
I did not know that one. But why do they show Duncan's murder. It is a mistake. Shakespeare did not show any murder before Banquo's murder. What's more, at night. The pacing of the scenes should keep the viewer engaged and imagining how each character dies, in his own head: Macdonnwald is bravely killed in a battle, hundreds of deaths, the Thane of Cawdor is bravely hanged, Duncan is cowardly killed. His chamberlains as well. So it is up to each spectator to imagine the scenes. And think. Hundreds of deaths, one death, what's the difference. How do we react? Quite the contrary, all these violent scenes on screen dont let the spectator think. It's absurd. Totally absurd. The very first murder we clearly see is the one of a child: Macduff's son. Shakespeare shows it. In this case, no, "present fears are not less than horrible imaginings". Innocence is killed. Every day. His mother follows. All these movies where blood is pooring from the beginning to the end are rubbish. Polansly: rubbish, ... Cohen: rubbish. And the likes. Macbeth is not an horror movie.
love the dagger noise. sounds like beijing traffic
The trumpet sound when the dagger appears and when Macbeth tries to touch it killed this scene for me. But the rest was good
Why? I thought it added to the scenes’ score pretty well
How does Duncan not hear Macbeth talking to himself like a madman
😹😹😹😹😹
Bart - Hey, you're not supposed to hear it, it's a soliloquio.
Head talking!!! He do be thinkin to himself
Duncan had his earbuds in. Huge techno fan.
He's whispering?
I wish I could talk like Mabeth as I walk through my life
Stannis is pretty Machethy... Well. At least Macbeth actually got to be king before his idiocy caught up to him

Why
@@insect2696 i think it's because it's so obviously photoshopped in and it just looks super fake

My god those colors! When was the last time I saw a modern movie look this natural?
Azsorious
Yeah, I know. It´s just I wish movies other than from Criterion looked somewhat similar.
Everything is colour graded in gross orange and teal colours nowadays.

Wonder why we didn’t hear Macbeth’s heartbeat?

It’s written in the plau
At first, notice Macbeth couldn't do it, but when Duncan woke up and saw him, he had to do it?
Yes, it’s actually a pretty realistic psychological thing especially compared to most plays around the time of Shakespeare
It was because, at first he couldn't as he knew that they were cousins! But when he heard Duncan was about to scream he had to do it!!
Polanski is an extraordinary cinematic genius.

The only time when the murder of King Duncan is shown… I think

Imagine being a king and waking up only to see your closest and most trusted subordinate standing over you with a knife. Such an impactful scene.
I’m doing this monologue in theater and I’m so excited!!!!

I think dagger is synonymous to gun nowadays. I can relate to the temptation of a gun, but a dagger? Not so much lol!
I can

The best of the Bard: Macbeth and RnJ
This shit is so funny I almost started crying in english class
MACBETHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
He was calling, "Help!" when Macbeth put his hand over Duncan's mouth and started stabbing him.
The dagger looks like it was made by a 9 year old on a free photoshop app who was bored in his math class.
It really doesn’t bother me Because it’s obvious fakeness can be excused as it just being in Macbeth’s head
Crown stops moving signifies Duncan is dead.
This is the only film of Macbeth.
Funniest (worst) treatment of the dagger scene I have ever seen in my long life! But I daresay WS will survive electronic noises...
Why does Duncan look like Mark Hamill?
It's in your damn head.
FATALITY

When someone asks what it means to overact, show this video
Not even speaking the words. Roman Polanski was and presumably is still a godawful individual.
Buddy, it’s a soliloquy, the words are his thoughts out loud
