Awesome to see someone get so much joy from something so simple as an old antler. Carol is priceless.
In case you every wondered..... You NEVER cease to amaze me with your video's.....LOVE the background when you were picking berries.....BAMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!
Thanks guys. I really loved these last few videos. Watching the two of you is incredibly moving..... the love and the sharing. The partnership.
Thank you. We’re so glad you are enjoying the videos. Have a wonderful day.
I dream of this journey. I had a heart attack and some medical surgery last week. I am recovering from heart disease 💔. Your wilderness trips help me a lot have a good dream. After I was recovered at hospital, I went overlanding a little bit and went quick MTB trail with my EMTB. That made me energetic. Being with nature, rivers and mountains is the most beautiful thing in our lives. Good luck to your journey.
So glad you’re recovering and doing better. We are thankful that you are enjoying our videos and we wish you a speedy recovery. We’ll see you out there on the trail.
@@EFRT Thanks 😊 You raise me up. Yesterday I went trail with my son. He loves overlanding. We enjoyed walking through stream by skiny feet, what we called, earthing. That made us feel better. Body got hamony a bit. Thanks for your good response! It help me a lot.
Pete in a warm shirt, beanie and FLIP FLOPS in the arctic- 😂 too funny.
I love the videos with the kids. But I really am enjoying the empty nest version equally as much. I only say that because I did not think I would as much when the kids went to Europe with Clay. It’s funny but when I click on RUclips and I see I have a new video from EFRT, I just smile.
So glad you are enjoying the empty nest series. Have a wonderful day.
I really enjoy watching Carol cook - it would be great if y’all had a mini on the road cookbook!
I enjoy the story telling of the empty nest editions.
Hey you two,
we saw your last video and were very happy that you thought of us!
Our time in Canada went by way too fast, it was a dream! If you're in Munich, let us know and we'll show you the city.
Hope you enjoy your time!
All the best & many greetings,
Charly & Johannes
Imagine spotting those antlers from up on the road....you sure have sharp vision!
My husband and I just did the dempster! It was his 30’th anniversary gift to me… even though he would choose Hawaii or anywhere tropical he took me to the top of the world. He’s definitely a keeper!!! We drove 5000 miles total exploring BC ,Yukon..Northwest Territories . We were there just before that damage I think… the end of august… we got home to Washington September 4 th… I absolutely love watching you guys.. glad I found your channel!!
My husband and I have been really really really enjoying just the two of you on your channel. We will be celebrating 9 years of marriage in a couple weeks and it’s so refreshing to see your relationship shine during this time away from your kids. Keep up the great work and keep up this style of vlogging, even when your kiddos are back!! You guys are the coolest!! Definite parenting goals ♥️♥️♥️
Thank you and congratulations on your 9th anniversary! ❤️
Exploring with the one you love.
You are a living demonstration of the joy that comes from the blessings of the hard work it takes to create the life you want to live. ☮️💟
An amazing journey. You two make friends no matter where you go and a wonderful ambassadors of the Overlanding Community. Thank you for sharing your journey and the knowledge of how to make it a positive trip as well.
So happy that Carol found her caribou shed(s). This adventure was so, so awesome--thanks so much for taking us along.
I did the Dempster in July on a motorcycle, a beautiful trip ! But the muddy road can be a real pain !
Watching your videos is like travelling with you to those beautiful places. I am from Indonesia and I will never have the opportunity to travel to the places that you go. Thank you for sharing the beauty of the creation.
You’re welcome. Thanks for watching in Indonesia 🇮🇩
Thanks for a great capture! This one brought back memories of my childhood in Africa - the washing dirty windows with dirty water!😂 I hadn’t thought about that for several decades! Glad you got in and out before the closures. 👏🤗🤗 My desire is to go south not north from this BC coastal rainforest - even still I enjoyed all the beauty and vastness of the landscape. Thanks for sharing!
I've traveled the outdoors for many years, in many capacities; mountains, deserts, plains, tundra. The over riding number one priority is safety & when saw the river crossings, bridge closure, vehicle stalled on the side of the road (tire) I thought of you and others; & I was happy you got through the impediments in a secure manner & were able to proceed. The landscapes, wildlife, people, other visitors, all part of the experience you share with us. And the two of you connected, sharing it with your message and spirit. I'm happy for you, you seem humbly excited to have been able to see the country, and you took us along, thank you.
I was just there about 3 weeks before you. What an adventure. I met the best people and experienced indescribable moments.
Peak meals are our favorite in that freeze dried category. The biscuits and gravy one is fantastic.
Thanks. Yes, we found them quite tasty. Will try the biscuits and gravy. Have a great evening.
The joy from finding the antlers! I get it I LOVE finding sheds, I especially love finding old ones like you did. What a memorable find!
Top knife from Switzerland! Great job your movies! Greetings from Switzerland 🇨🇭 👍👍
"The bridge is closed and very badly damaged.. So It's closed and all. But we let people drive across sometimes." Makes sense...
Next summer I hope to also drive the Dempster! Thank you.
Awesome way for those of us who can't travel to see this country. Thanks for sharing his series with us. God bless you and family always!!!!
Excellent! This has been one of your best videos! Mom got her antlers… Dad drove all the way dodging every rock (no flat tires!) I’m wondering how many gallons of gas in 800 km? What a great overland vehicle. And Lando gets the great companion award.
Beautiful trip and what an awesome antler find Carol i would have done the same thing and went after them
at 30:09 - WOW! i could just sit there at that spot for hours.
Good eyes!! Seeing it at that distance. Pretty amazing!

Pretty awesome Carol found some antlers ... you can't BUY them, you have you have to find them. Much more special that way. .. I guess if your going that way, best plan on getting dirty!
What a trip! Glad you made it safely. Carol, we loved the sheds that you found. I’ll bet they find a place on a wall back at camp!😊👏.
Yes for sure. 👍🏻
I melted by these beautiful places.
I'm blown away with how much traffic there was, going north. I did not expect that at all. Great video, amazing trip.
Glad you guys made it out. We made it out too. From what the guy told me, my group was the last before the bridge was closed. I think it ended up being closed for 5 days while they fixed it. Kim and Holly the newf
Glad you made it out. We were worried about you and Holly. 👍🏻 🐕
WOW!!!!!!!!!😮😮😮…so much emotions on this video but what I can say is that you had my UNDIVIDED attention (not that I haven’t in your past videos) on every single second all throughout this episode to the point of I didn’t even know I was sipping coffee grinds instead of coffee!!! I felt every emotions you both had…What you do is a great reminder of what’s more important in life 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻♥️♥️♥️. THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH for taking me with you on this journey. And to Landó 😘😘😘🤗🤗🤗
So glad he enjoyed the videos. Hope you have a wonderful evening!
Hello, dear hearts. Yes, you sure did make it! I'm so happy for you! Thanks again for another awesome video. No, I didn’t forget about you. I'm sending you a big hug! God bless you all, my sweets
2/20/24 - Thanks , what an adventure that was!
Sure was. Glad you enjoyed it.
WOW!!! Beautiful trip. I've been watching with much anticipation. I have a Jeep JK 2-door that I have built for overland travel(I'm from southern Ontario). And I've explored northern Ontario, north of Lake Superior , and Northern Quebec the Trans Taiga east , to the end at Cheniapiscau , then west(don't forget to stop in at Radisson to stock up on supplies and fuel up) to the shores of James bay near Chisasabi stayed on the James Bay shore for several nights , stood in salt water but was on neither east or west coast, so cool...and I was a stones throw from Nunavut .
When you are at Cheniapiscau you are 750 km from the nearest town , it is supposedly the farthest you can get from a town in the east....possibly all of north America ...not sure on that...but it is very, very remote,I recommend it highly , definitely a bucket list adventure.
I just picked up a Jeep JL Rubicon Unlimited that I am going to build over the winter , to do the trip you guys just finished , I love building them and exploring in them , so much fun . Your trip is an inspiration ,I've wanted to do this trip for so long...it's now within reach. Cheers Wild Bill overlanding the Arctic watershed of Northern Ontario , and Taiga of Northern Quebec. Never stop wondering , wandering, and exploring!!
Wow, you’ve definitely been on some awesome trips. We want to get up into the James Bay region as well. Thanks for watching and we’ll see you out there.
I hope you were able to get that gas station in Eagle Plains to help that stuck Jeep. What a marvelous journey you are on!
What is the item that you added wood pellets to cook the meal on can’t find the link - awesome journey - enjoying ur empty nest trip videos.
The wood stove is a new product. We are testing it out for our friends at Bigtent Outdoors. We love it so far. Send an email to admin@bigtentoutdoors.com for more information. Thanks
Thanks for let'n us ride along.
Great video! Our family has a Harvest Right freeze dryer and we absolutely love it. We've prepared many of our favorite meals for camping or emergency use. When I watched the video of you guys preparing long term food storage I said to my wife, "They need a freeze dryer."
HI Guys, We did Alaska this Summer from Central NY to Alaska and had a Incredible Experience! Your trip here is Exactly what I what to do on my return visit to Western Canada and Alaska as soon as possible!!! Thanks for the Great videos and Experience!!
Great trip you guys!. at 22.54 you can see us (lifted audi ) going across the bridge! We ended up getting stuck on the other side for 3 extra days
I love your videos, we go along with on your travels. We have a Jeep and love to hit the Arkansas Ozark Mountain backroads. Nothing like your setup but we love it.
That is some amazing scenery! I bet the kids are missing Mom's cooking.👍
Beautiful story and trip. Thanks guys!
Great find Carole 😀😎
Wow. Thank you for taking us along on your adventure! 🇨🇦New to your channel. Enjoying it all.
So glad you found our channel. Happy new year!
Speechless,so beautiful thank you for sharing ❤️
Glad you got thru alright and it's good to know some of the difficulties that can arise while driving the Dempster Highway. Colors were beautiful. Heading home to Washington State today from Depoe Bay, Oregon. Did some beautiful hikes here and watched the Gray Whales from our resort room which was nice. Hoping to get in a couple of Fall hikes in the mountains before the snow hits. Thanks for letting us come along on your adventures. Looking forward to the next one.
Got across that bridge! Nice.
Loved it, especially finding the antler, what a find. I have a sewing channel, lifestylesew, but subscribed to you as we all need subscribers to keep us going and its so interesting to watch. Good Job Gwendoline
Awesome! Thank you!
thank you for sharing your amazing journey
Love all your videos, but especially the Canadian content!
Loving the empty nest edition.
Had to smile at the end scraping the list on the window. I think I still have road stuff caked under my truck after years of trying to wash off the Dempster. Beautiful episode! Thank you!
Glad to see that you were able to complete some of your to do's. Keep posting the adventures and stay safe.
Thanks, just amazing video.
This has been just an amazing series! Thanks for sharing with us!
Amazing video as always! Lucky to find antler, where I am from we have moose and never found one!! Safe travels!
What a great video! It brought back memories of my first trip up the Dempster Hwy to Inuvik and back in late August some 29 years ago! I've been back up the Dempster since, but not in the fall. The colours and incredible geography just got under my skin (in a good way!) and into my soul. Rounding every corner nearly took my breath away. I did not want to leave! On our last trip 3 or 4 years ago I have a picture of my wife & son walking down the highway with our dog because they were tired of waiting as I could not tear myself away from the incredible photo opportunities! Nice work!
So glad you enjoyed the video. Glad we could bring back some great memories for you. Have a great day.
What a great trip!
what an epic exit to an epic trip across the dempster....cheers all way folks!
What kids, lol! Great trip!
Awesome video and thanks for the temperature updates .
Beautiful trip!!! Glad you got your antlers. Thanks for taking me along.
Interesting about the food stuff. What I have recently done is to cook and or spice food prior and vacuum seal flat. I fill my freezer and defrost daily. It works super well and left overs can be either frozen or refrigerated. I assume you have a fridge/ freeze. If not dehydration works well.
We've loved your channel since finding it during lockdowns. Hubby n I are celebrating 48 years together this weekend, love to back pack in the PNW and have also invested in our own Harvest Right freeze dryer for long term food storage. It is wonderful in many ways but there is definitely a learning curve on which foods FD well. Thank you so very much for sharing your precious family with us, God bless! 🤗🙏🇺🇲🇨🇦
Congrats on your 48th anniversary, that’s awesome!
Simply beautiful! Congratulations on your journey and successful egress! I really love your videos and I’m learning a great deal from you both. Thank you for sharing!! You are inspiring me to begin my own journey and I really hope I will meet you all down the trail some day! Thank you!
Thanks for the great inspiring video’s
Love watching your journey.
I always wait for you next broadcast 😊👍
What a wonderful experience to share together. You are so blessed.
I was heading north on Ca 1 on 9/16 and thought I saw you heading south just north of Hope BC. I had to catch up with your series, well worth the time. I have been following you all for years and started my own adventure. See ya down the road!
Very cool. A welcome thing every Sunday.. Travel safe
Good morning! I LOVE this adventure! Thanks for taking us along!
lots of mud on your trip! my trip end of july 2022 was dry both ways but dust everywhere inside camper van
Great trip!! Whew on making it out before they closed the bridge!! Enjoyed watching this series! What's next? LOL!!
Great episode. Loved the music choices for this week. So glad y’all made it across the bridge before it closed. Be safe.
Such a beautiful area! The empty nest edition has been awesome!
Really enjoying this southern trip. I feel like I am riding along!
Great episode. Remember you cannot remove any antlers from their resting place, just look and place back. I watch your videos and it brings back memories. In the early 70’s I did the original survey ( pilot) for the Dempster highway and it’s still on my bucket list to drive.
"Remember you cannot remove any antlers from their resting place, just look and place back." = What rule and regulation states that? What is the source of your broad statement because I do not believe that is fully true. Perhaps some national parks ?
@@richardthomas1743 I was told this by a wildlife officer in Inuvik years ago. Wether its right or not I do not know. I have always followed this guideline. I will check the regs in the NT and get back to you.
I think that you can legally pick up Antler shed in NT but you can not sell them.
@@richardthomas1743 You are correct. From the wildlife regulations see Possession of Wildlife R-051-2019,s.11.
@@richardthomas1743 my apologies
Beautiful trip. Now I am looking forward to see you all in your island finishing prep for the long Ontario winter. Such a lovely place you have. 👍
What a awesome find of the set of antlers . And what spectacular countryside views along that rout the fall colors were so beautiful . But isn’t It great that when hard things happen like that bridge breaking and the hrs long wait . that you met some people that you maybe would not have met other wise . That’s over landing to me make the best out of life’s problems . Cheers from Steve Stott In Sutherlin Oregon U.S.A. :) :) 🐕🦺:) 🍻👍🏼
Awesome episode, adding places to our travel plans, the kids are going to have to produce some amazing footage to keep up with you now...
Beautiful journey so far with you sitting at home and enjoying with your efforts mind blowing. What a beautiful adventures trip. Good bless you and have a safe healthy 💞 journey 💝.
So enjoy your travels! Ty
