I read some more details about the interval act with Käärijä, and OMG 😂😂 It's kind of Swedish tongue-in-cheek teasing what the interval act would look like if the contest was organized in Finland (as it rightly should be!), with Moomins, Ievan polka and sauna birch twigs... Needless to say, we would have had classier interval acts than that!! 😅😉

Bit dissapointed with staging but Joost Klein remains my personal favourite. There's something so endearing about him and he's obviously having the time of his life. Utmost respect for this guy for making things happen in his life (participating at Eurovision was his dream and he made it) despite his tragic loss. Love the entry and as said much respect for him. ❤🎉❤
So funny that you had Noosh et co. pop in 😄 I more or less agree about predictions here, but I still & esp. in hindsight very much disagree about 2nd half of 1st semi being flat, but then I guess it also depends on which part of the show your own country is in, as that part is never "flat" 😂 But seeing how many loved Finland's performance (from comments in the entry's video), I feel I'm not alone in my opinion, by far. ;)
‘Homemade’ has kind of been Joost’s brand for a long time. I was already surprised at how clean and professional the music video was. His performance at the preparty in Amsterdam gave much more of the vibe I was expecting.
Second Jury show was even better! Malta was amazing, Switzerland was SO Good! Estonia was chaotic and delicious, Nebuloussa fumbled in the beginning but pulled it back. Belgium had a technical difficulty and we got to see it twice! I know Nemo, and Joost will qualify, but everyone else I have no clue because everyone was so strong!
Absolutely. I was just rewatching the 2013 full grand final and there are a bunch of songs that are basically a singer standing still on stage with backup singers also standing in place. Staging expectations have amped up a lot in the last decade and there are a lot of good songs with good staging in this years eurovision.

In the battle of the girl bops, i will always go for song quality, so for me Austria wins by a landslide. Firefighter is just so boring, and Loop is just average. I dont think either of them will qualify, and i hope San Marino and Czechia take their places.

And no, I don't think all 3 rock songs will qualify, only one or two of them.
I’m kind of hoping that maybe it will work to Denmark’s advantage that it’s right after Austria and right before Armenia, both entries that are pretty action-filled. Maybe the people who don’t really like that will take a shine to Denmark’s entry, see it as a bit of respite? Otherwise I sadly don’t see it qualifying.
The syncopation in Sand's chorus is off-putting to me...every time I listen to it, I feel like I want it to be 'corrected', even though musically I know it's intentional. If she brings a level of vocal power and artistry dar beyond what we've seen so far, that could push Denmark through, but it would have to be absolutely spectacular, as the song itself isn't doing that much new or interesting.
I’m disappointed in my countries staging (Netherlands). What about the moon landing things or the impossible never done thing? It’s just nothing special. They really destroyed all the chances to come close to win. Unfortunately we always mess up our staging.
We never had a chance to win. It was always going to be either Croatia or Switzerland. And I’m terribly afraid Ireland might be a bit of a dark horse of becoming extremely popular and snatching everything away with televoting.
Yes, and I am sure Musti qualify. I think this is a thing where the Eurovision fans thinks to much. After all the music is to good too not qualify no matter if it not as good as the video. I like Toms opinion regarding Nemo, I think the disc is bloody amazing and the dress will not put people off I think. This is overthinking again. Sure Bambi got elevated ten thousands time by the staging. The song is not that good but it find a place is the staging. I am from Sweden and if we sent Scarlets Circus X it would blew peoples mind. It's the morning after Belgium didn't qualify..I always liked the song but the preparties really got in Mustii's head and he's been struggling ever since. And for the neutral viewer who hasn't followed the run-up, they see mediocre staging and shaky singing and so he didn't go through. We had a similar story with Sennek a couple of years ago. I feel bad for Mustii - his music and the song are really good. I hope he can keep the good memories of this adventure and have a great music career going forward. About Sweden: I agree this year's song is not the best. I think it will end quite low on Saturday. Agreed that Bambie Thug's song in itself is not as impactful without the staging. A great example where good music is combined with amazing staging is Ukraine: they catapulted to my personal favorites on Tuesday. About Joost: yesterday I saw that the Dutch made 2 clever adjustments: 1) Joost "announced" the start of the hardcore part in English, so people would expect what's coming and 2) the emotional ending is subtitled in English. With almost nobody understanding Dutch, a lot of the double entendres and jokes are lost in 75% of the song. It will be very tight between Joost (NL), Baby Lasagna (CRO) and alyona alyona & Jerry Heil (UKR). And I also wonder what the televote will do for Israel..Eden sang really well. They can’t. The performance was “set” already three weeks ago. The only thing they could still change was “outfit-wise”. So everyone saying they are holding something back, need to wake up. If it seems like they are holding something back it’s because they asked the camera team to film in certain spots. I guess, I think.
They can't change their staging at this late stage in fact. They have to use the exact same camera shots and so on in the semi final as they did in the dress rehearsal.
Albania is def getting high points from Greece, Switzerland, Armenia, Italy and some from Czechia and Austria so im worried this lacklaster song and performence gets throught over for example Georgia or Latvia

Marina’s idea (which I love) of being followed by the camera and having it look like a Tik Tok sounds very much like Rosalía’s last tour (which I loved), where she did just that: having a cameraman follow her, singing to him instead of the crowd a lot of times, and having the screens show the images as a “Tik Tok”.
Funk the reharsals, the most wanted performance in Semi2 will be an interval act of 💚 KÄÄRIJÄ 💚 After that I will accept what ever comes after results as long as NORWAY and ITALY will continue to the 1st podium🎉🎉🎉 At least for me 🤘

Soo hard to predict. Imo there is a top 5 (🇨🇭🇳🇱🇦🇲🇳🇴🇬🇪), and then there is a giant middlefield of 9 songs and then 2 songs at the bottom (🇱🇻🇦🇱). So 5 qualifiers to decide out of 9 songs... Feeling there's a momentum for 🇲🇹🇸🇲🇨🇿 (in that order). 🇧🇪🇦🇹🇪🇪🇬🇷🇩🇰 could all be NQ.

I find it mildly irksome that Tom often says something looks 'VMA' when the staging is really good. I haven't watched the VMAs in quite a while, but just to understand the comparison I did watch a couple of clips of supposedly impressive performances. I'm lost man. Eurovision has vastly superior production, only thing is that there are quite a lot of limitations and as such certain impressive feats are untenable at Eurovision, but the VMAs are not the standard to be held to. Euroivision itself is that standard.

I'm getting worried now for my own country Belgium, I'm so afraid of another 'Belgian classic' where the whole song is totally ruined by the staging. I thought they learned from last year but I guess the Flemish and Walloon delegation aren't exactly the same. The whole thing where The Netherlands was promising something never done before is already getting annoying ! They should know the rules right? Holding back is probably working against them at this point.

I'm going for it. Tuesday I got 10/10 right for Qualifiers. My prediction for tonight's going to be: 1) Netherlands (Winner) 2) Switzerland 3) Armenia 4) Greece 5) Norway 6) Estonia 7) Georgia Okay so for this I'm fairly sure they will qualify. But my other 3) qualifiers will be 8) Malta (cause Kaleens vocals might not be good enough) 9) Israel, though controversial she's got one of the strongest voices this semi-final. But I wouldn't be surprised if people weren't voting for her just because and Austria might get through. 10) San Marino - the underdog of this year and everyone's going to be shocked that Belgium is not going to make it but they did. Mustti is not as captivating as I hoped he was going to be.
I think San Marino could also get the Latin American vote, which can help them qualify. Also, don’t Italy and San Marino share a some phone line, so couldn’t people from San Marino vote for themselves and have Italy give them points?
After watching this video I am really worried about Belgium. Quality wise I think this semifinal is way closer than the first one. In the other semifinal it felt like two spots for four songs, while in this one nearly everything could happen.

I'm so scared and disappointed to hear that Austria arent delivering! Austrias song is my favourite going in to the whole show, so I'm hoping and praying that she is just holding back and waiting to deliver something incredible. After the leaked dance rehearsal for this month's ago, I was ready for all out slayage based on what I've seen, so this whole 'posey' thing you're mentioning makes me so sad. I hope people get behind this, I really do because I won't enjoy Saturdays grand final anywhere near as much otherwise! 😢
well he also said that he wasn't fully paying attention. But I think it's the best dance bop this year. Kaleen has the dance experience, and really knows how to command the stage which is something I (personally) haven't seen from Malta. As well as she has her husband being Marvin D so like... he better not mess up his wife's staging lol, she has the experience literally being a creative director for other shows (Chanel's Slomo, being the creative director for entire JESC shows, and 4 shows from 2023). So I think she'll bring it, definitely with the camerawork at least

I really want France to win but I realised last night it wont be easy because 4 ballads made it through in Semi 1, Having said that it was a ballad heavy Semi but thats 5 ballads already in the final (6 if you count Italy but I woundnt call that a ballad). So I think even though I like Latvias song I dont want Latvia or Belgium to Qualify because the Ballad Lovers will have too many choices to vote for and it will split the vote more than it already is. However I do think France has the Best ballad. So Hopefully lots of fun and Comedic songs and songs that appeal to each others audience make it to the final.

There were some leaked rehearsal videos on RUclips, and I believe Nemo will shake up the predictions table with this performance. Frankly, it's the most daring, vocally challenging, never-before-seen staging, and artistically compelling performance, except perhaps for Greece or Ireland. They're not even competing; they're establishing their own standards for what a Eurovision entry could be. People are fed up with dance breaks, boring pop choreography, or wannabe rock songs. There's nothing comparable to Måneskin, Loreen, or Conchita this year; only Nemo or Bambie have the that rising star factor with international potential.

ESC influencers and royalty hyping songs in coordination with betting agencies to make serious money from people who are addicted enough to bet in every single thing that is being hyped. It has some of the most memorable and interesting LED screens you will ever see in Eurovision and it’s very professional, slick and high energy. 6-11th in the final would be my guess and I think he will be a participant who will be remembered at Eurovision for a long time.

Because for the very first time in this tired contest, Greece brings real world music of high quality and not just touristic kitschy ethno-bops with cliche traditional sounds. Because Zari defies the usual structure of a typical ESC song - it consists only of bridges!!!!!!!! Because Zari blends music genres effortlessly without adopting pretentiousness. Hence we talk about a daring, unique and edgy entry with attitude and signature, with vision and a bold statement that will change the way we see the contest. That’s why Zari deserves to win.

I like Toms opinion regarding Nemo, I think the disc is bloody amazing and the dress will not put people off I think. This is overthinking again. Sure Bambi got elevated ten thousands time by the staging. The song is not that good but it find a place is the staging.
I am from Sweden and if we sent Scarlets Circus X it would blew peoples mind. It reminds me a lot of Bambi Thug but it is better music. I knew it then and I knew it now. We sent the completely wrong music. It is the end result of beeing a family show, but it is so booring.
I really hope Nemo or Joost will win. Joost is dangerous. I remember when Moldovia got second place of the televotes in one of the best contest (2022). I just could not believe it, that contest had Uk: Spaceman, Sweden: Hold me closer. Too me two of the strongest songs ever in the contest. But Moldovia with its simple party tune won the televotes. That tells me that Joost will have an amazing result.

It's the morning after Belgium didn't qualify..I always liked the song but the preparties really got in Mustii's head and he's been struggling ever since. And for the neutral viewer who hasn't followed the run-up, they see mediocre staging and shaky singing and so he didn't go through. We had a similar story with Sennek a couple of years ago. I feel bad for Mustii - his music and the song are really good. I hope he can keep the good memories of this adventure and have a great music career going forward.
About Sweden: I agree this year's song is not the best. I think it will end quite low on Saturday. Agreed that Bambie Thug's song in itself is not as impactful without the staging. A great example where good music is combined with amazing staging is Ukraine: they catapulted to my personal favorites on Tuesday.
About Joost: yesterday I saw that the Dutch made 2 clever adjustments: 1) Joost "announced" the start of the hardcore part in English, so people would expect what's coming and 2) the emotional ending is subtitled in English. With almost nobody understanding Dutch, a lot of the double entendres and jokes are lost in 75% of the song.
It will be very tight between Joost (NL), Baby Lasagna (CRO) and alyona alyona & Jerry Heil (UKR). And I also wonder what the televote will do for Israel..Eden sang really well. That Italian televote showed a crazy skew towards them.

Marina’s idea (which I love) of being followed by the camera and having it look like a Tik Tok sounds very much like Rosalía’s last tour (which I loved), where she did just that: having a cameraman follow her, singing to him instead of the crowd a lot of times, and having the screens show the images as a “Tik Tok”.
Marina did a one shot on her song mantissa in 2016. :) That's where the idea came from.

I find it mildly irksome that Tom often says something looks 'VMA' when the staging is really good. I haven't watched the VMAs in quite a while, but just to understand the comparison I did watch a couple of clips of supposedly impressive performances. I'm lost man. Eurovision has vastly superior production, only thing is that there are quite a lot of limitations and as such certain impressive feats are untenable at Eurovision, but the VMAs are not the standard to be held to. Euroivision itself is that standard.

I'm going for it. Tuesday I got 10/10 right for Qualifiers. My prediction for tonight's going to be:
1) Netherlands (Winner)
2) Switzerland
3) Armenia
4) Greece
5) Norway
6) Estonia

Okay so for this I'm fairly sure they will qualify. But my other 3) qualifiers will be
8) Malta (cause Kaleens vocals might not be good enough)
9) Israel, though controversial she's got one of the strongest voices this semi-final. But I wouldn't be surprised if people weren't voting for her just because and Austria might get through.
10) San Marino - the underdog of this year and everyone's going to be shocked that Belgium is not going to make it but they did. Mustti is not as captivating as I hoped he was going to be.
I think San Marino could also get the Latin American vote, which can help them qualify. Also, don’t Italy and San Marino share a some phone line, so couldn’t people from San Marino vote for themselves and have Italy give them points?

After watching this video I am really worried about Belgium. Quality wise I think this semifinal is way closer than the first one. In the other semifinal it felt like two spots for four songs, while in this one nearly everything could happen.

well he also said that he wasn't fully paying attention. But I think it's the best dance bop this year. Kaleen has the dance experience, and really knows how to command the stage which is something I (personally) haven't seen from Malta. As well as she has her husband being Marvin D so like... he better not mess up his wife's staging lol, she has the experience literally being a creative director for other shows (Chanel's Slomo, being the creative director for entire JESC shows, and 4 shows from 2023). So I think she'll bring it, definitely with the camerawork at least

I really want France to win but I realised last night it wont be easy because 4 ballads made it through in Semi 1, Having said that it was a ballad heavy Semi but thats 5 ballads already in the final (6 if you count Italy but I woundnt call that a ballad). So I think even though I like Latvias song I dont want Latvia or Belgium to Qualify because the Ballad Lovers will have too many choices to vote for and it will split the vote more than it already is. However I do think France has the Best ballad. So Hopefully lots of fun and Comedic songs and songs that appeal to each others audience make it to the final.

There were some leaked rehearsal videos on RUclips, and I believe Nemo will shake up the predictions table with this performance.
Frankly, it's the most daring, vocally challenging, never-before-seen staging, and artistically compelling performance, except perhaps for Greece or Ireland. They're not even competing; they're establishing their own standards for what a Eurovision entry could be. People are fed up with dance breaks, boring pop choreography, or wannabe rock songs.
There's nothing comparable to Måneskin, Loreen, or Conchita this year; only Nemo or Bambie have the that rising star factor with international potential.

It has some of the most memorable and interesting LED screens you will ever see in Eurovision and it’s very professional, slick and high energy.
6-11th in the final would be my guess and I think he will be a participant who will be remembered at Eurovision for a long time.
Gover Meit is a very hit and miss type of guy, venerated for his humour but I don't know if he even has a track record in staging

Because Zari defies the usual structure of a typical ESC song - it consists only of bridges!!!!!!!! Because Zari blends music genres effortlessly without adopting pretentiousness. Hence we talk about a daring, unique and edgy entry with attitude and signature, with vision and a bold statement that will change the way we see the contest. That’s why Zari deserves to win.
