Advance Wars Black Hole Rising Grit's Theme Extended)

- Oh my gosh...Superpaltos23 is finally uploading another video? How shocking!
Sorry 'bout not uploading any more themes in quite a while folks. Don't got no excuses.
But anyways...Grit is next. I usually prefer indirect/ranged combat over direct, yet I never seem to use Grit often. He can be a real pain to fight once he starts producing a bunch of rockets and artillery. But if you manage to steamroll him with a bunch of direct units, you can manage to beat'em. Overall, Grit is quite a worthy opponent.
His theme is quite lax which fits him very well. It isn't my favorite theme, but it's certainly nice.
And...if you're curious of what I've been doing, read on.
So, I've been watching videos by RUclipsrs new to me. Such as SomeOrdinaryGamers ( Video Game Creepypasta Videos and such), Mastermax888 (Other creepy games and pony games.[Yes, Pony games. I know a certain someone that doesn't seem to fancy bronies and I am sorry if this displeases you.]) and CinnamonToastKen (MORE Scary Games).
I guess I've been slacking off since it's Summer. Bleh. Darn my laziness. You also may have noticed my new user icon. Well...have a nice day my viewers!
Image/Music not made by me, only extended.
sniping with sniper rifle ❎
sniping with handgun ✔
Epic
It’s a good job mate
Sniping with rockets: ✅✅✅
Just like Mordecai from Borderlands. Or for a real-world example of an expert handgun marksman - Elmer Keith.
if there exists a weapon Grit will find the wat to snipe with it
The music makes it perfectly clear that he's got his feet up while shelling you to hell.
XD to true
His theme fits him so well.
he. totally xD with the theme it`s clear who is going to have the killcam
What can i say? His theme is western styled and he's a doom marksman dude no arguing here
Wouldnt it suck if my rockets by default had battleship range? And itd just be awful if my battleships outranged yours by default. And dont even get me started on my SCOP arty
No Man's land grew a space wider.
Now even two.
No man’s land? More like Grit’s land
@@freetimeidiot4541 Super Snipe! Now even three.
(Explanation time. +1 range from Grit's day-to-day, and then the +2 from Super Snipe. 1+2=3)
@@SilentDragonite149 Everyone is wrong. 6 spaces. It's 3 spaces deeper in every direction, but for an example, every space that would be hit by a normal CO's indirect fire, say to the south, there are now three more spaces to the east, and three more spaces to the west that would now be hit. 4 spaces east and west from what Grit normally does, and just further in general. Now that makes for some hazardous driving conditions.
Out of all the themes.... This one... This one gives me the most flashbacks. Watching my vehicles get pelted miserably.
or being forced to defend in that one adder + grit level
*Points at Grit's shoes*
"WHAT ARE THOOOO..."
*explodes from artillery shell*
Heck I'd wear those shoes
This is the most terrifying theme to hear on the enemy's turn on a FOW map D:

We did it. We never gave up.
Advance Wars 1+2: Re-boot Camp.
Now for Dual strikes and DoR to get similar treatments!

Sniping is a good job mate
+Legendairenic Ayyy Sir ~
+Sleipnir Odin Ayeeeee lmao
It's challengin' work...outta doors...I guarantee you'll not go hungry! Cos at the end of the day, as long as there's two COs left on the planet, someone's gonna want someone's tanks shelled.
You know when someone snipes with a pistol....
They are a dumbass
but when it's this guy.....
You're dead....
dgmbomb and Han solo
step 1: mass spam artillery
step 2:???
step 3: profit
step 4: with said profit spam rockets
Step 2: get all artillery into positions
Step 2.5:Kill everything
Grit's missiles are the most mean thing the human being ever created.
Fighting grits battleships without subs.... :|
Malachai117 fighting Grit at all
I loved that both of his missions in AW 2 were Fog of War, because he freaking excels there.
Darn shame that the AI didn't know that, but the forest hiding was a huge plus. Adder just had to try to fight us with MD tanks, didn't he?
I like putting this on whenever I play World of Tanks as an artillery!! Makes me feel like ol' Grit him self! Hah
You sir, gave me the greatest Idea ever
i did the same thing XD
Grit is probably my 3rd Favorite CO
Reflective Paper im doing that right now
Yeah, Grit would say hah rather than ha too.
Grit : Where's the fool who wants to help me with target practice!?
You can run but you can't hide!
Possum spit
I almost read this as "where's the dead MF who wants to help me with target practice!?"
@@TTimeschannel i mean that works
Well shuck my corn. You’re history.
In Dual Strike, this man and Colin created an undying wave of unbridled fury.
Colin buys the indirects for cheaper, Grit kicks back and snipes while playing bluegrass all the way to the bank.
fuck that, if you gonna go duel CO's then Colin + Kambei is the best. Cheap and nearly immortal army. Sure Kambei doesn't get any movement or range bonuses like max/grit... but i think immortal defenses is a better trade off.
@@mechwarreir2 That's also a good combo, since they do opposite things. Colin buys the units for cheaper, and Mighty Kanbei kicks the asses with his improved unit stats.
How about Sonja and Grit in fog of war
@@InitialDrifterZ better Sonja and Kanbei since Sonja and Grit are both kind of flawless when talking about Non-infantry ground units
"Welp, reckon I'd better mosey on out and see what happens."
I resonate with Grit on a spiritual level given the fact that we both excel at ranged combat (his power grants increased range and I enjoy ranged units a lot when playing), so naturally I jumped at the chance to play as him in the sequel. Adder was screwed from the BEGINNING.
The game was rigged from the start
Yes! 😂😂😢 The Nostalgia!
"Mosey on out" gets me every time! 😂💙
lo-fi/country beats to relax/rain hellfire on your foes to
This theme really fits grit and the way he nonchalantly just focus fires your medium tanks to death from half the map away.
I can't wait to hear how this sounds in Re-Boot Camp.
He keeps his original japanese design with the cowboy hat too. (Honestly I like it. Fits his lazy sharpshooter theme a LOT more)
If there are seaports to capture, seize them, give Grit Battle Ships and then watch your opponents cry pitifully.
Or if theres pipes around the map and a base next to them give me pipe runners and watch them run
+Grit Blue Moon not if i destroy them first
+DarkX64 bnack then battleships could NOT move AND fire in one turn... imagine if DoR Battleship logic was present in BHR......... because Grit with his battleships having + range and a firepower boost wasnt enoughh
I just hope your opponents doesn't have bombers...
If they have bombers, buy missiles Trading 1v1 is worth as long as the bomber doesn't sink a battle ship
Ah, even after four years I just can't get tired of this theme. Grit pretty much became my main since I'm a sucker for long distance attackers. This dude is pretty much just family-friendly Mordecai and I love it.
Grit is also my favorite, between his OP long-distance attackers and his theme song, he is one of the best if not the best character in advance Wars.
His theme fits him very well
this theme screams "Imma just sit ere and rest my laurels being lazy and all....... while raining hot death on anyone well within my sights"
Cannot wait to hear the remade version of this one. This one’s been on repeat in my head since 2003.
if Advance Wars 1+2 get VA, this guy will be the first one i would love to listen. "Where's the fool who wants to help me with target practice?"
No VA unfortunately
I remember playing Grit so much that I forgot that this was his theme and not just the generic in game battle music.
in a previous comment I saw
his laid back personality fits his specialty, having to use artillery to just blast everyone from a distance while you sit your ass down on one end of the screen is fun
The key to winning with Grit is controlling natural choke points with a single decent direct combat unit and then pilling up artillery and rockets behind it to tear apart the enemies reserves.
I've always wondered, "An American sharpshooter in a Russian themed army, was he an (un)intensional reference to Revolver Ocelot from Metal Gear Solid?" XD
+SaberRusty More of the americans suspected to work as soviet's spies in the cold war if you ask me.
But with invaders comin in
He helped the russians and take it down
And then he doze of again and gather more intel
No wonder Nell knows alot about Olaf
And especially the nuke in blue moon's mission
Well, based on his Japanese version look (they gave him a much cooler hat), he's supposed to be a nod to Daisuke Jigen from Lupin III.
@@martooncdj-martooncartoons490 The whole point of his character is that he hates politics (especially war politics and petty squabbling over territories and such), so that's doubtful.
Well, he is a traitor that left Red/Orange Star and joined Blue Moon but besides that this is probably completely unintensional.
Grit's just sitting back in his chair, lighting up a smoke while reigning hell upon your units. Heavy artillery is a hell of a drug.
You know that meme with the turkish guy at the olympics? Yea, that was Grit
I find it funny that how much Grit and Mordecaï from Borderlands look alike. Both are skinny, layed back character, potentially drunkard and unbelievably good marksmen.
karbengo how does it come that i never noticed this?
Klint Izwudd Are you thinking about Clint Eastwood? Or maybe someone else?
Well I don't think I've ever seen a fat sniper, and not often a muscular one. :P
It's almost like it's a trope or something
it's because you have to be able to control your heart rate, which lends itself to slender people. Being able to shoot a gun has to do with eye accuracy and heart rate. Snipers perfect both.
Just the right amount of fuzz to make this feel like a real war romp. Days without sleep, various chemicals to keep yourself awake, and a hot wind that helps blur reality.
Grit mains RISE UP!!!!!
Grit: i want the best artillery, the best rockets, the best range, the most overpowered missiles, and the best battleships.
Creator: Careful you’re using all your points for ranged combat but your tanks will be shit. How many more points do you want for ranged weapons?
Grit: yes

This song is so chilled it fits perfectly.
I like to listen this while i'm playing Borderlands.
do play you play this theme while playing as the hunter?
Yup.
+Inktastic Inkling :D
Pure nostalgia. This has such a western movie atmosphere.
Yeah, I did find Grit amusing. Both his laid back nature and how that seemed to drive his superior (Olaf?) up the wall. One of my favourite CO's to play as, and one I enjoy facing, too.
God this make me feel so old
Now this man know how to chill.
My waaaay out there pick for the new Smash Bros game.
It'd be great for AW to get more representation. At least it's an assist trophy (hopefully still is).
Mario Mastar i agree advance wars was great series
he'd just shoot everyone in the face in 1 second lol
MrZsc His specials would be really powerful projectiles and artillery, but his A moves would be really weak melee hits. His Final smash would be him summoning a ton of Rockets that bombard the entire stage no matter how far the opponent is. The further you are, the more damage the rockets do So you'd want to be really close to him so they do little damage or miss, contrary to most final Smashes.
Maxim 20: If you're not willing to shell your own position, you're not willing to win.
Maxim 31: Only cheaters prosper.
Maxim 56: Infantry exists to paint targets for people with real guns.

grit you are two things for me, a crack who i can relate with shikamaru xD and the character i prefer to use the most when i play in almost every map :D because for the air the oldman sensei is a beast >.< thanks for uploading this theme superpaltos c: te regalo una palta y saludos desde chile!!!
for his neutral special, he uses a gun
Thank you for posting 😊
The key to an essential artillery system is having full scope of the range as well as having This infantry to protect your artillery. Griff is the God of self propelled artillery
God fights on the side of he who has artillery
-Someone Important I'm sure
Until I get Sturm, he was the unique CO I managed to win in the Twice Islands map in AW2. He also is one of my favorites ever. And I love his theme.
Yeah, but Sturm's OP as a nuke - and he can SUMMON METEORS!
YES. Just yes. Fear my ROFLships. And welcome back mate.
The 3 dislikes on the video are from people who hate it when they keep getting sniped from a distance
WITH A DAMN PISTOL
The sound of a man sitting on his snipe attack just waiting for you to push so he can evicerate your entire army in a single turn
His own artillery become battleships with his super on. And his Aircraft Carriers from AWDS, you will have no units in the air
+Lord Rndom where carriers were broke as fuck naval anti airs... it was bad enough his missiles without any boost can outright cripple any air unit at worste and instantly down em at best.... then the carriers come in... not even applying the bonus range and all :D
dragonfable66 yup
Lord Rndom could be worse... think of the battleships from DoR
dragonfable66 ....
Grit's definitely the kind of guy that could walk into a Western-styled bar and make a single shot ricochet off all kinds of surfaces, only to blow the bartender's hat off (literally).
Playing as the sniper on Dota 2 while listening to this theme makes you feel like a god.
I love the campaign missions with Grit. They utilizes a lot of Grit's potential in those missions with Fog of War and narrow paths and forests.
Also, I hate FoW against CPU Grit in AW1.
We need a Advance Wars rom hack in which all it does is replace Grit's power lines with "It's HIgh Noon".
my purchase of reboot camp is leaning on how well they remaster this track right here
I HAVE FINALLY FOUND IT
:'DDDDDDDD
My blood get cold when this theme sounded when the enemy turn start in a fog war map, The true terror!!!
Grit looks like a guy who just wants to grill for God's sake
He became my best co in the mission called nature walk. He is too relax but a deadly marksmen indeed.......... And the best of all Tanks!!! ( Where he has just only 4 rockets 2 Artilleries and 2 mechs .....while adder has shit ton of tanks that runs on a road and has a fast charge co
grit for most underused, most favorite character by me
God, you can just hear the artillery aiming and then firing.
This man can snipe with his pistol !!! 🔥
BIG IRON ON HIS HIIIIIIIIP

I love my bro's headcanon voice for this dude. He sounds like a drunk and high cowboy.
Can't wait to get this guy rollin' again :)
Every sharpe shooter needs to be a tall lanky guy with an American southern accent. And let’s just add the acoustic guitar strumming in there.

I might make the 0:48 bit a killstreak sound for when you get 5 kills or 10 or whatever...
Maybe... *sniff* maybe though...
Each snap after 0:48 is one kill?
Ik Grit is a little bit weak on its tier, but man,
Fighting Grit on fog of war is pain 😭😭😭
Battleship + Supersnipe = 🔥🔥🔥
We need to build a wall! ...of indirects
Pfft, a port? What are you gonna do with a po- OH SHIT A BATTLESHIP!
Hopefully, they'll go further than the Re-Boot Camp. Like going for Dual-Strike!
Or yknow straight up a new game if the remakes work well, sure having a new game based on the first 3 games after Days of Ruins or a sequel to Days or Ruins may confuse new fans and disapoint fans of those respective games if they prefer it over the rest, but after so long a breath of fresh air would be so goood
Someone is gonna make a overwatch mcree joke eventually its only mater of time

Long time, no see, Grit!
I'm trying to beat Ridge Island on Dual Strike without skills and I just... holy fuck this is like WW1 levels of meat grinder.
If you're still trying (I'm hoping that's where Grit is behind some mountains) Use someone that can just rush him like Adder. Plow your way through after you bait out his first CO power. His direct attack units won't be much of a threat and once you start removing his Rockets he's done.
Tanks from the south, mechs from the top and that corner spot. A few artillery to support. Don't bother with Rockets they cost too much.
With that in mind, shouldn't be too hard to win. S ranking is another thing and you will just have to feel it out from there. I got lucky with my S rank.
HandicapGaming93 Wow, I got a C and thought I got lucky.
I've been replaying it a lot and trying to S rank every war room mission. But it helps knowing the scoring system and having a lot of practice against the AI.
Still though, congratulations on your victory. Sometimes victory is its own reward. I bet it felt good to win.
Back when I played AW2 I thought that pulled out part of his jacket was his gut. Apparently not.
_chill moment_
I can't wait to use Grit again.
Hey, buddy. I'm Grit. That means i solve problems.
Not problems like "how to make Flak a good CO" as that would fall in your purview of the conundrums of game balance.
I solve practical problems.
Such as "how am i gonna stop a big mean mother-hubbard from tearing my structurally superfluous new behind?
The answer?
Use artillery.
And if that don't work?
Use more artillery.
