After 25 years the facility must be completely renovated, but that does not mean that there is a lot of periodic maintenance, but rather that the cost of this as well as the cost of the industries necessary for waste treatment is gigantic. Plus, ethanol can be manufactured by any country, even if it is banned from accessing oil or radioactive elements...which makes it a strategically very interesting fuel for a nation without natural resources.

FYI the human voice creates about 60 decibels which is twice as much as the noise of a water cooled PC. It'a fair assumption that military cooling tech for reactors is much much more advanced and quieter than anything available to the public for a PC. You have 0 idea what you are talking about.

As soon as you needs to increase speed, the batteries dont last and you need the diesels to kick in which are noisy. So how is a sub supposed to hunt and chase frigates moving at 25 knots when the sub us going 3 knots? Completely useless for hunting purpose only good for sitting in one spot waiting to ambush. A nuclear power can steam ahead without any problems and go hunting. The reality is that nuclear poweed subs are vastly superior to diesel/electrics, that is why the most adavanced militaries have chosen them. The only drawback to nuclear powered sub is the technological knowledge required and costs.
