Christian Bale is a good actor, too bad the director on his Batman Trilogy is not true to the comic which make his movie a little bit clunky than Affleck Batman.. Who fight more batman and act more terrifying like how batman is supposed to be.

@@zacx6970 Actually, the Affleck Batman is even less true to the comic for me. Partly due to the fact he, you know, kills people? Whereas the Nolan Batman refuses to kill-"I am no executioner". That is how Batman is supposed to be. Not a kill crazy psychopath who will murder some guy over a "once-percent chance" of being bad.

I just love the part at 2:15. This is the first time you see Bruce suffering from putting on his rich / playboy persona. Being a hero comes with a price and it hurts that you're not able to let your loved one know that you actually are more underneath. Plus that soundtrack on the back, perfect.
I just think Bruce Wayne is such a compelling character. A rich man throwing away his money and public image to serve the greater good. All thanks to Christian Bale and David Nolan.

Forget about being more underneath, he's nowhere near the playboy that he pretends to be... the Batman look & voice is to scare people, playboy persona is to fool people... I'll say what Bruce Wayne really looks like is what he looked like back when escaping the prison in TDKR. That is the real version of him.
His acting was great here, the moment he starts to say "all this" you can see the persona in his eyes just slip away as he's trying to tell her he is more. Amazing.

Rachel is actually the definition of a true friend. Althought we know Bruce's persona, she is not afraid to tell him the truth, at some point she even gives him that slap reality check because she genuinely loves him (as a friend tho).

You can just tell thta he loves her the moment he lays his eyes on her. Its really sad how they were never really meant to be yet they loved each other so much. Rachel believed in providing justice the clean and direct way, but revealing yourself and confronting the problem. Bruce believed justice needed to be handled fin order to deal with the criminals to be scared of the law. He saw the system was useless and she didnt. THey chose different paths and then she fell in love with Harvey.
He should have just married those hot ass supermodels and lived happily ever after in a polygamous marriage

I think Tony Stark would've been good friends with Bruce Wayne in a crossover universe. They both have things in common despite their differences. They're both geniuses, billionaires, playboys, and philanthropists.

Great scene. Bale really sells the billionaire playboy persona. And when he meets Rachel it's like he's been pulled out of a dream or illusion. The score ramps up, the 2 girl's voices fade/echo into the distance, and the camera is no longer distracted - aimed only at Rachel and Bruce. Shows how much Rachel means to Bruce even though it's just a small interaction.
He's back after 7 years and didn't bother to contact Rachel because of his obsession in his Batman mission. No wonder she didn't want to wait for him.
Bruce ended up with A better woman anyway.

It is unfortunate how Rachel also became part of his trauma right from when he decided to become the batman. That point of time when he falls into a never ending loop, when he is lost in to that duality where he wants to be with Rachel to find peace but he can't do that before he learns to overcome his inner demons...which makes him weaker and weaker by time.
It would have been very unfortunate for Bruce if he ever had to see Rachel with Harvey Dent

I love who they clearly yet subtly shows how much Bruce hates putting on his rich spoiled entitled persona and how little he truly cares about living the rich and elite life expected of Bruce Wayne. Keep in mind that Bruce doesn't value wealth other than as a means to be Batman and help people, he literally had temporarily thrown away billions before without a second thought by faking his death and living as a street beggar and thugs before to learn about life.
This scene is so sad to me , the fact that Bruce never was able to make Rachel love him , the fact that Rachel dies and leaves him while he loved her so much.

It blows me away - This is the first time Rachel sees Bruce after their argument seven years ago and she is still unpleased with Bruce. You would think that she'd ease up on him after maybe bearing some guilt or regret for pushing Bruce to disappear, presumed dead, but she just starts back at square one - disappointed. And then by the end, after proving himself, Bruce risks love and she still finds a reason not to be with him, like c'mon lady, will he ever be enough? She's ice cold, but a crucial character piece in Bruce's life - She may be perfect for him, making him uncomfortable to change in ways that make him stronger.

Nope. The dark knight's original script had additional lines that mentioned bruce bought that hotel three weeks prior to bruce meeting harvey and rachel on their date at that hotel. Bruce wayne was trying to make harvey's date with rachel difficult.
