Anybody else have the distinct feeling that DT was a little emotional during some of his segments? His eyes were kind of red and glassy (consistent with just having had a bit of a cry); I just wanted to hug him. 🥹
Volunteers don't & can't be expected to work F/T to industry standards, for free. Yes, some professionals, offer some of their services, to some charities for free, or at a reduced rate, but not enough to do all the work, for every charity. Overseeing multi million £ budgets, organising everything from logistics, advertising, researching & identifying needs, to optimising donations, awareness, reach, allocating funds, & maintaining legal compliance specialised full-time work. Investing in the best personnel, is the most effective way to achieve a charity's objective. BBC bashing is popular in print & social media, but they consistently deliver Comic/Sport Relief, without paying presenters & celebrities(unlike many high profile charity events), ensuring the money raised goes directly to the charity.
You're correct. From my experience (UN/Red Cross & UK Forces humanitarian deployment), they do; this was just for the promotional VT. The image of running water, & smiling children, is supposed to be inspiring, but I agree this looks wasteful to those who may not know the reality. Water is normally treated like the precious commodity it is.
The studio audience has nothing to do with what they are sending the donated monies to. If you want to donate you will. If you don’t want to then you don’t have to make up an excuse and post about it.

He was. I was at the audience as well. He even turned around to adjust himself before the camera cut back to him over the film Jodie presented.
@@zvicki2023 Oh wow! Aww, that just makes him all the more endearing. 🥰
Bless 💖
Thanks for posting! I didn’t get to watch it over here in the US. I thought they use to have skits though?
Didn't there use to be some really fun performances for Comic Relief in previous years? What's going on?😅
They don't mention the high salaries of the staff administering the money. A large proportion of money raised goes on that unfortunately

Why don’t the villagers have some kind of container to catch the running water from the taps? They could save it for future use?

I’d donate if it would get the audience to tone it down just a bit. Every single joke is not HILARIOUS!
