I've just recently come across Mr Stanford in a short. Now of course I'm roaming all over RUclips looking for more. I can honestly say that this man is as much a master at his craft as Fred Astaire, whom I could watch dance all day. Well now I have discovered another that mesmerizes me the same way. What I truly find shocking though is that I'd never heard of him until a couple days ago. And I'm 66!
@@virginiaizquierdo5579 Amazing isn't it? How did we miss him growing up? He was obviously a big thing to those familiar with him! Ah well, no mind. It's a treat to discover him now, regardless of our age. Keep looking Virginia, turns out there's many videos on RUclips to enjoy!
I'm reading all your comments here... I've just also discovered Mr Jack a few days ago too, just like you (I'm 42) Coincidene? Whatever... He was one of the greatest Have a great day Friends!
Any attempt at a description would be an understatement. Truly unique and talented . . . very few could ever even consider approaching this level of controlled fluidic movement.
Dios mio.
.Amazing how someone that is such a STRONG dancer can make something look so SIMPLE and nonchalant / silly / loopy/ SIMPLE. When in reality, it takes a very very skilled DANCER to execute what he did ♥♥. It was very difficult steps he did and he made it look like.. " opps daisy.. just skippy here and skippy- doo-dah there "
I love how the bagginess of his suit accentuates the fluidity of his moves! It reminds me of David Byrne of Talking Heads who was a phenomenal dancer and lead singer!!!😮😊❤❤❤❤❤

Break dancing is great. Olympics is a commercial shitshow full of drugs these days, I'm afraid. Street break dancing is far too good, honest, and truly amateur for the Olympics.
Come vedete anche prima esistevano i grandi di adesso, o forse i grandi di adesso copiano i grandi di ieri? Mahhhhh non so......... Prima non guadagnavano niente oggi sono migliardari.......strano😮
More like a show of allegiance as many Brits were sympathetic to the Reich. If he intended to mock Germans, he failed badly. Cf Charlie Chaplin in his epic parody of the fuhror and the banana Mussolini.
@@stan4nowcomplete rubbish he was absolutely for sure mocking the rigidity and stupidity and very rightly so at a time when the hailers had long taken over Germany and brutally trampled down all diverging political groupings and the Nuremberg Laws had been implemented since 1935 denouncing civil rights of all none “German or related blood” citizens Chaplin is irrelevant to this performance just like it would be to criticise Chaplin for being an amateur musician or 3rd grade dancer(compared to f ex. @@stan4nowMany Brit’s were not sympathetic to the Reich, many did not want another war,but they certainly wouldn’t have shown allegiance. The true sympathisers were some aristocrats and the brown shirts, who were very much in the minority and would get beaten up in East End.He was totally mocking him,why would he include a tribute when he was there to make people laugh at his silly moves?🙄
This was how Americans saluted the flag before the war. Congress passed legislation in 1942 instructing Americans to place their right hand over the heart instead.
The reason these artists were great because they had only one job to do, less shows and more time to work on their crafts and not much extra expectations from the artist for eg. Look better, expensive clothes, luxury watches etc... all they were expected is a great performance... If artist were great is because of the audiences.
Great Performance until he started goose-stepping with the Nazi salute. Great Britain was plagued with more than a few misguided sympathizers. So much so, Sir Winston Churchill was forced to carry a firearm because of the threats on his life for trying to increase the arsenal for defense as Germany was doing to wage war. He had warned of The Gathering Storm after his meetings with the fuhror. Any wonder GB was the only nation to stop Germany's advance? God Rest Sir Winston Churchill and all those who held fast.

An extraordinary talent.
Very talented dancer!
Loved it. As entertaining today as it was then👏

0.45 that's the move Michael Jackson added to the "Thriller" song. 😂😂 This guy was way beyond his time.
Absolutely brilliant superb real talent
🤩 Wow! I love Jack Stanford’s “crazy” dancing! Wonder 💭 if Michael Jackson learned some of his Moonwalk moves from
Jack!!
Did you find out?
Could be

In the fifthties we called him rubber legs.
Jack Stanford is all but forgotten.
And now we have Olympic Break Dancing.
It is definitely the end times

Èl y Fred Astere han sido los MEJORES BAILARINES DEL MUNDO.
Брилянтен!

La inspiración ,de muchos de los pasos, de Michael Jackson.
Waiting for the biopic

Unbelievable.
So this is where Max wall and billy dainty got some of their ideas I presume

Interesting to see him make fun of the Hitler salute and the nazi goosestep just two years before the war.

Love him mocking Hitler in 1937.

The act slyly portend WW II.
1937? Was the salute a thing then?
Hitler rose to power in 33, but the world didn't realize what he was about until the war was well underway.
the nazi hail salute had been compulsory for all nazi party members since 1926 and been in use since 1921. As you know Nazi’s took over power in 1933

It was a comedy act. I don't think he was promoting Nazi ideology.

This was 2 years before Hitler invaded Poland. I don't think the world understood yet how evil this man was. Hindsight is 20 20.
FFS, it's a comedy act, he's taking the mick. Even in 1935 the National Socialists were seen as a joke, with all the regalia and goose-stepping.
This was in 1937.
Rhythm/music was his main engine to dance.without music/rhythm....no way to move. ❤
