I have 2 mixed tanks. Africans like hideaway places and are highly aggressive. Oscars get big but are fairly sweet fish, careful they dont get bullied! They do run the risk of they eat whatever fits in oscars mouths. Although one of my tank also has a surviving female guppy happily living amung the goliaths.
I have 2 Oscar’s mixed with peacocks a green terror and a red devil with 4 plecos in my 125 I’ve only had one sign of aggression but they haven’t fought since my green terror and my Oscar got into it but that’s prob bc I had my wave makers unplugged more current can cause less aggressive
I'll give you an update soon. The oscar has gotten really big for the tank so somebody got it now. I have jack dempsey, platinum parrot cichlid, blood red parrot cichlid, electric blue acara, and 10 giant danios right now in the tank. I feed them with Tetra cichlid floating sticks .

I water change it once a week taking 30% of the water out , i do it every sunday ( includes vacuuming the gravel, scrubbing the glass) that's about it. I clean the filters every month. I have 2 aquaclear 70 in this tank and this is 55 gallons aquarium. I don't use any chemicals. I have well water so I don't need to add anything.
Why do you have an American jack dempsey cichlid in with mbuna African cichlids, it should not be in your tank, because African cichlids need a ph on 8.o, while the jack dempsey needs a ph of 6.8 which is acidic.

Also anyone new out there you need a really good filter system/water flow to have this many large fish in a smaller tank. Well any tank but especially this small. I have many of same fish in a 125 and about same amount. Seems very small to me but it is beautiful so maybe I’m wrong.

This don’t always work I tried this with a 4 in veiltail Oscar, electric blue jack and a bichir with a Taiwan reef and well the reef didn’t make it not a full day maybe because he stole food from my Oscar but I want this and can be done

I have show quality peacocks with 1 Oscar in my 75 and it’s worked out very well. Very successful it can be done.

Nice tank also you should get a larger tank Becouse the Oscar needs to swim freely just like the mbunas you got in that tank
