Basil seeds are always available in Indian groceries. There they go under the beautiful name 'Tukmaria'.
Thank you for the best information all the time
Wheatgrass is gluten-free when harvested from a growing wheat plant without any seeds. Wheatgrass is the fresh sprouted leaves of the wheat plant. When people hear wheat, they automatically think gluten.
I would also add that millet it's probably smart to wash millet well with warm-hot water, and rub it between hands. There will be lots of bubbles, as they contain some kind of soap compounds - saponins. I usualy wash mine like that AND sometimes also soak it overnight.
Great info on Mooringa - I use 100% Mooringa Leaf powder from Kuli Kuli. I hope Dr. Gundry writes some more cookbooks! I've used many recipes from the Plant Paradox cookbooks and would like more recipes by Dr. Gundry! ❣
Is Mooringa from KuliKuli legit? I see some experts mentioning + a few RUclips comments supporting this brand; sounds a bit fishy to me already
Thank you so much Dr G for changing my life! You have given me the tools and knowledge to transform my health and live a happy healthy life. What you are doing is amazing and making such a positive change. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Thank you for the kind words!
I'll stay with my chia seeds. Not worried about lectins at all.
Thank you Doctor for the great information 👍👍👍👍👍🙏
Thank for so much for the educational material you speak of here about superfoods ❤
I use chia seeds in my protein shake. They are actually loaded with 10 g of fiber if you get them organic from Costco. To be honest the chia seeds I used cleaned my stomach out. I was on a 28 day fiber diet. I then cleaned out my stomach. Within 28 days I looked much better and much healthier. My mom was actually shocked that she saw them which difference in just 28 days.
He said íts not good.
Loaded with lectins. Eat basil seeds instead
@@samuelwoociker4084 There is another Doctor. Dr. Will Bulsiewicz who gut Dr. He said opposite and said that they're good for you. He wrote a fiber diet book which I was 245 last year. His fiber made me lose 27 pounds in 28 days take look at Dr. Will Bulsiewicz he is gut Dr. He said they good for you there doctors who say opposite there are books written to prove Chia Seeds are good for you. Dr. Mark Hyman a friend Dr. Gundry also Chia Seeds are good for you.
@@DerekBoldiene360 just remember LISTEN to your own body, if it is working for you, then great, just remember...moderation. My family ate stuff that would NEVER make YT videos...They died with their own teeth, and they literally aged out...late 90's. They believed in balance, and they believed in walking, everything in moderation. They were healthy, happy, didn't count calories, didn't eliminate foods, they just enjoyed good food, good friends and didn't go nuts on anything.
@@savannahsmiles1797 I add chia seeds to my protein shake. If you get them from Costco organic they have 10 grams of fiber in one ounce. Fiber cleans out your gut.
Great, timely topic as always Dr. Gundry
I have been following these messages for a few months now.
I use the ketone and Mediterranean diets
Have gluten and dairy intolerance
My problem: I am having trouble gaining weight back after illness, and the carbs, ice creams, sugars that help weight gain, without, well, I am 5’4” 106lbs. Ideal weight is 120
Help us with gut/reverse weight issues, which are also very unhealthy!
(Significant inflammation, except on water 💦 only diet)
I had a twisted lower intestine and had a resection approximately 10 years ago.
Thank you 🙏
I have the same problem with not being able to gain weight...
Add lots of sesame oil or olive oil to your food, eat lots of macadamia nuts and an avocado daily. That helped me put on weight.
Please consider beef, lamb or goat. Many ancestral diets included those products. Or butter/heavy cream. My dairy intolerant wife can take cream, but no milk.
Other nutritionists have commented on plant only diets can be lacking or problematic for some. I am a high fat high meat eater. I'd highly suggest it but thats just me. OMAD high saturated fat cleared up my inflammation, feeling bad and lots tons of weight. Psoriasis gone, blepharitus, pre-mature heart beat
Question on sweet Basil seeds: Is there any difference between those sold for eating versus for planting?
I read that you should not buy the ones that are for planting because they can be treated with chemicals
..but then we don't know if the others are also treated...
Dr. G, Since soy sauce went through the fermentation process, the lectin in the soy beans should be gone, right? Then it is safe to use?
That's a good question. But even if it is free of most lectins, most non organic soy is genetically modified, or GMO and pesticide contaminated. So it's smart to buy organic.
Thank you Dr. Gundry for all the precious info that you make time ❤️ to remind us just in case we go astray from our right eating paths. I am allergic to wheat, corn, soy, oats, rice, chickpeas, kidney beans, eggs, dairy, beef, almond, peanut, tomato, potato, apple, pear, cherry, strawberry, raspberry, banana, hemp seeds, and more!!!!!
What arn't you alergic too?
Hi. I am not allergic to chicken, fish, cruciferous vegetables, pecans, olive oil 😀, grapes, cantaloupe, millet, coconut and some more hopefully! Its very hard to stick to my diet all the time so when I don't eat good I get a lot of inflammation in the body. Also,
Moringa, perilla seeds, chia seeds, krill oil, peanuts, carrots, beets, are also in my list of food intolerance
Oh poor soul, you had tried the organic version of that food?
No I haven't
@@humairakhan574 I read that the transgenic version of the food often cause allergies.
I was shocked about chia seeds!!!!!
Check out my video with Shakira Niazi where we discuss an amazing chia seed substitute! ruclips.net/video/0tpVNk6o-tY/видео.html
Juice is fine if you mix 1 litre juice with same kombucha. The kombucha turns the sugar into gas in the fridge. I do this for my natural pomegranate juice (no added sugar), a small glass in the mornings, there are no insulin spikes, and I am a recovering pre-diabetic.
Just stop calling them super foods and then eat what you like 🤣
Hi Dr. Gundry, thank you for all the info!! I wonder... Is Wheatgrass Gluten-Free?
I think wheatgrass is gluten-free when harvested from a growing wheat plant without any seeds. What do you think?
I believe he said wheat grass contains a gluten-like substance.
Perhaps it’s similar enough that the body that is sensitive to gluten misidentifies it as gluten and goes on the offensive.
Never go well with gojii or chia seeds , he is so right
Have you seen a video called Goji berry blood efect??Can goji berries be so inflamatory when blood shows up like that???🌟✨
I recently learned that Moringa sapped calcium from the bones, and so does caffeine. Quick adjustments I made.
It's also high in oxalates.
I’m allergic to it ! Leaned the hard way
Hey Steven, what do you think about growing microgreens at home?
What about the matchka green powder from asia. Doctor?? Is it okay for you?
Thanks, TCM uses a little boiled Gojiberry in medicine decoction. I'll stop using it, but Moringa makes me sick and throw up, it is too strong and awful-tasting for my weak state. I have been mixing ½ tsp with ½ tsp Kelp and 1½ tsp Barley-grass powder and 1½ tsp Maca-powder. If I add ½ lemon, it is just about edible, hahaha.I feel better by it, but it may be the C-vit.and the alkaline-formation(I have strong chronic acidity, due to bad sleep deprivation, stress and lack of movement outdoors)
Is berberine supplement safe?
Anything not meat related get rid of it.
You can eat anything but small portion.
Hi. I am new to this channel. So all these “talks” I come across on you tube this information is in your book? Which one? For example moringa, stevia, mushrooms, olive oil, etc. the fruits to eat and avoid, etc. thank you.
Very happy to find you .Possibly a Brit. Wish I had met you years ago
I had two coeliac specialists.tell me to eat wheat .
Please talk about yacon (Smallanthus sonchifolius).
The best , safest and calmest, simplest way then is, to stop any pleasure-eating and only eat real food for nutrition, at regular meal-times and in large enough quantities so as not to get low bloodsugar and other cravings. And take care of relationships, emotional hygiene, helping others, and practise daily prayer and meditation. Being calm and satisfied will help.
The Macrobiotics-healer-teacher George Oshawa, says in his book " The path to Health and Happiness", that among all the healing-diets, the Cereal-fast is the simplest diet to follow, because of its simplicity.
What does Dr Gundry say about Brown Rice today, is it still contaminated with some Arsenic? And does the goodness still overweigh the drawback of that? Thinking of doing a spring-cleansing of Brown-rice fast, not sure yet for how long. Probably not for 10 days in my instability and crisis. And maybe with a little fat(underweight). - Happy Easter!
Wait...What about the Cassava Pasta you said was good????
He recommended in season to eat common we have no season
All his recommendation things never hear or cannot eat
There's a big difference between powdered wheatgrass and the actual fresh juice. 👌
While I greatly respect Dr. Gundry’s advice, I just can’t get on board with his evolutional inputs in some foods. Wheat is a grain that has been scientifically proven to be healthy when it is ground into fresh flour and bread made from it. ( Bread for Life, Sue Becker here on RUclips) it’s a long video but she covers it extremely well and she has the education to back it up. No processing, just good clean flour, olive oil, honey, yeast and water. It has not been stripped of its benefits and replaced with man made ingredients. It’s absolutely amazing. You can’t get this from a bag of store bought bread. It is a main staple throughout the Bible. God made it, it’s good. Enjoy it!
That’s fine if you don’t have allergies I’m allergic to wheat and other grains so I give them the flick😢
@@ritalawson7020 in your case you should not eat wheat.
Hello, I hear much about "night shade" and would like to know if you have any studies on Indigenous peoples of America and the fact that tomatoes and peppers actually do not cause inflammation? This is a traditional diet we have, as well as chia.
Some people think that everybody has issues with everything. Total bs.
I asked my nutritionist about tomatoes being nightshade and how some people are adamant that no one should eat them, and she said it depends who you are. For some people it can cause irritation, but that seems to be true for many foods ... She said I can eat them, no problem, and I haven't had a problem with them
@@ethimself5064 I think sometimes if someone thinks that "if I have a problem with it (or I think I do), NO ONE should eat it." Like I commented below, I went to a nutritionist and she said I can eat them
Nightshades are a horror for anyone with Rheumatoid Arthritis, causing stabbing knee pain & swelling of the joints. Those of us from European descent, never had nightshades in our diet. Tomato’s were brought back to Europe from Columbus & so are not native to European diet. Italians have always skinned & de-seeded tomatoes to make them edible.
The things that cause inflammation in us is white potatoes, cauliflower, cabbage, kidney beans, lentils and curvy nuts. We eat tomatoes, corn, sweet potatoes, collards, wolf berries, paw paws, etc as a staple without inflammation.
Oh I think if you have celiac disease - you KNOW that wheat grass (hint the word wheat) is a wheat food. And besides the lesson should be just read the labels and do your own research on the food. Short answer don’t eat processed food (made in a factory and not your kitchen)
Spinach and cocoa both high in oxalates!
Yep and moringa and sorghum also ….many “superfoods” are certainly not good for me!
your not supossed to eat tons of them anyway
If you are doing heavy physical work or sports, lots of calories are a good thing. I just don't see a high amount of calories being a bad thing in general.
Checking in from the DMV.
Is there a list ? …..
Here is my Yes/No food list - gundrymd.com/dr-gundry-diet-food-list/
that is so true dr g ..
Wow, I love this talk. Dr Gundry sures know the pros and cons of foods regular and superfoods. I've studied superfoods for decades and never heard a lot of the super wisdom that Dr Gundry shares here on why some superfoods you shouldn't eat and many Health Store large mixes of superfoods etc contain a majority of what not to eat in them. Thankfully I've been slim and in perfect health all my life from 19 to a senior, whereas my twin brother gained 40 pounds and my other brother gained 85 pounds. I modified my diet about 5 years ago with Dr Gundry's Longevity Paradox book and his do and don't eat list of foods, which you can get that list free with a Google search. 'Live long and Prosper' Star Trek's Spoke's slogan is now even more a part of my super life. Last night I did a 80 minute Kundalini mediation and was in complete mental silence/quieted mind/thoughtless awareness. The 3 things are the same and the target of Abraham Hicks Law of Attraction suggestion that when you quiet your mind you let go of all resistance to being aligned with Source and your Vortex of your desires and on your path of well-being. That meditation was filled with life force energy Kundalini energy flowing through my brain and body and putting me in a state of bliss. Life is great when you are fit and healthy, happy and in the zone being directed by Source with impulses, insight and wisdom. Magic and miracles become more common place. The most important thing is to feel good right now. You can learn how to quiet your mind always free in person and on line from Sahaja Yoga (an advance meditation) they teach you always free. A 15 minute meditation to start your day and then when you go to sleep with have you feeling good Living In The Moment with many benefits. By the way I volunteered and taught Sahaja Yoga in a Toronto library for 9 years and the library complemented how much it benefited the library because of that.
Spirulina, chlorella and moringa instead of wheatgrass, barley grass and oat grass.
So no chia, how much flax and hemp compare?
These has been a surge in ads for the green drinks and just from my experience, when something gets out of control...as a fad, it probably isn't that good. Companies wouldn't make as much money off something that is good, instead it has to be mixed with some engineered ingredients
Gundrys shit list would be a good name.
Another embarrassing urban legend adopted by Dr Gundry. Dogs and cats eat grass occasionally for its vitamins and fiber, they often vomit it because unchewed blades of grass are like fish bones stuck in their throats, NOT because : "grass is like wheat, wheat is poison and dogs know it because as everyone know dogs know much more than stupid humans, so stupid humans - do not eat wheat." Dr Gundry should update himself since it is Now 2022 about mucus lining of intestines and what human microbiome does to it in absence of dietary fiber, yes it EATS IT ! the result is leaky gut !
does this make you a stupid human too?
But don't we need lectins to live, for example for blood flow? 🤔
The grass of wheatgrass is gluten free. It's the seeds of wheatgrass that contains the gluten.
Exactly!
Is Ashwagandha root safe to eat ?
Good question! I would love to know!
@@maxfurrier1700 It honestly depends for what purpose you're taking it and how your body reacts to it.... I've been taking it and it's working fine for me from past 2 years
Are you saying don't drink pomegranate juice made fresh.
This guy is a HOAX! How he can say that pomegranate juice is bad for us?
For me No Kale ,
No spinach
Pressure cooked beans scare me
you should buy some guns, i guess
Well if a fish was toxic but if you cook the crap out of it you could eat it would you take a chance or would you go get a different kind of fish
why beans scare you? 😳

I don't remember exactly... isn't there a vid that says there a enzymes or stuff from food that protects the gut wall from lectins??? 🙄
I think manhood has shure evolved some methods to protect themselves from lectins in a appropriate dose 🤔????
Wells what grains can I eat breads?
I am not sure, what is really good for me,as he has çhanged things that are good to bad. SO WTF. We need some one to check the Doctor finding. My CHEMO Therapist says he is a quack amd eat what I want. That it makes no difference. That's the science, I guess.
What should I do. I have stage 4 cancer and I am trying to fight my cancer with the help of foods and walking. I need advice
if you have hemoroid, artritis or any inflamatory disease thats your barometer sbout inflammatory food or alergen to you. if you go for chemo and you have inflammation then chemo is not the right medicine for you. anti histamine will blind your sense of choosing whats best 4 you.
I'm not a doctor! but i can advice you based on my experience with cancer person...
Stay positive/Active at all times possible...
Make sure you DO NOT Eat white SUGAR also try to avoid any sweets! (Because cancer grows when sweets are available...)
Also Eat 1 or 2 spoon's of EVOO (Extra virgin olive oil), 1 spoon is 100 or more calories, so you dont lose weight quickly) ... With a few drops of BLACK SEED OIL (Make sure it is pure quality..) do it morning and night... do intermittent fasting maybe eat 2 or 1 meals instead daily, it's okay if you become skinny for awhile, your overall health is important to recover & end the bad cells soon ...
@@lynserkawi4704 I am doing Chemo. It's my only hope. I still try to eat right and walk a lot. But the food that was good is bad. So WTF ah. I will keep fighting my disease with he help of food. It's just getting me down.
@@AbedMuslim Thank you. That is helpful. I try not to get depressed. But things that were good are now bad. Chemo is my only hope. But no sugar or candies. I haven't fasted yet. Nit sure if I can. But it is going to happen. Thank for your comments. It was very helpful to me. Glad someone out there is listening. Thanks
what has been proven scientifically: that the patient’s psychological state helps with recovery and healing from sickness. The stronger the patient’s morale, the more likely and speedy his recovery will be.
Some people were affected by this disease and recovered from it by the grace of Allah (GOD).
GOD Almighty says (interpretation of the meaning):
“No person knows what he will earn tomorrow, and no person knows in what land he will die. Verily, Allah is All-Knower, All-Aware (of things)”
[Luqmaan 31:34].
You should understand that there is no disease that it is impossible for GOD Almighty to cure. as the Prophet Muhammad (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “Allah, (GOD) may He be glorified and exalted, has not sent down any disease but He has sent down a remedy for it. Those who know it know it, and those who do not know it do not know it.” ...

In old time era we were eating gwar Bajra now we eat refined wheat oil that's why we are destroying our health
Moringa doesn't agree with me for some reason, it causes incredibly loose, runny bowel actions. I'll stick with my spirulina thanks.

It appears that almost everything is unhealthy and harmful and need to eat very restricted diet😮

@@nellydimitrova6541 Well, it’s not restrictive. It’s that, what is called species-appropriate nutrition. We are no different than other mammals. Don’t worry. Or get your Chips, your Icecream and your Cookies. But don't complain if you're not feeling well.
Iam follow Dr. Gundrys Rules for Leaky Gut. Damned - This is harsh. But i feel much much muuuuuuuch better. And i will do this for a looooong Long Time, because iam doing this not for weightloss. Iam doing this for my Lifequality and my health. And THIS makes the Point. Nothing Else!
@@kaylaread8048 yes we are not different than other mammals but we are different from each another, and if I don’t follow this that doesn’t mean that i eat junk and processed food, there is thousands different books and diets and all of them works well for someone, I don’t like all this diet culture and i eat whole organic home made food, diversity is key, and everyone should listen their body and needs, so instead to limit food is better to add food
Millet and sorghum taste horrible lol
They have lectins related to gluten too; i hope Dr Gundry revises this . I couldn’t even find them in my local store and I suppose it’s not worth trying to cook them.

this dude hates on wheatgrass lol
😁😃😀😅😀😃
Everything is bad for you accept the food that you never heard of is good for you
No fruits no dairy I wish he can tell us food that we can eat and find not in Chinese language
The idea that there is a simple, easy, silver bullet for perfect health is a lie, and everyone knows it. But, we still chase after the quick fix instead of a real solution. A fad diet instead of a steady approach to a new lifestyle.
A "super food" the way you define it is really a food you want, "in your diet," not dominating it. The more of them you incorporate into your diet, the better off you are.
You seem confused on calories. Do you mean sugars. Because not all calories are equal.
I love it
There are no superfoods. It's just a load of hype. Food is food. All food is good in moderation and all groups should be included in your every day diet. Don't be brainwashed.
So go on😃😁 eat your cookies, cakes, fries and shakes, chips and all the rest of that crap because it is food.

To sum up : Goji berry( prefer mulberries) , wheat grass( prefer moringa), chia seeds , quinoa ( milet or sorgo),
I'm with you on that. This is only a 14 minute video but you know it's not anything new. I like the summaries on the 1 to 2 hour podcast. These guys are just repeating themselves after a certain point but the title in the thumbnail compels you to look.
