I don't know who's saying you're speaking too much.. but honestly I don't think you are. I feel like speaking to your audience about what you're doing, what's going on, etc, is a necessity. Keep speaking! I don't mind it and I'm sure most of other people don't either! Keep up the videos! I love learning about all things and you definitely show your work.
All I had to do was punch out the old races with a flat head and install the new ones into the frame. Press the new bearing onto the stem and install. Im using an 03 gsxr 600 front end. According to the all balls website i think you can use any year. Just go to the fork conversion section and it will give you list
Been waiting for this week's vid to come out! I read the comments where people said you talk too much but tbh I actually liked the fact that you explained things thoroughly. I think what people meant is that while you speak there is nothing going on. Maybe if you did a voiceover while we see you cleaning the engine and explaining certain things about it that would be better for everyone: we get all your thought process and people get the action they want too! Keep the good work up and take care!
I'm living out my desire to start a cafe racer/brat vicariously through you. (I'm trying really hard not to pick up this local GS750.) Keep up the good work!
Do you think you should take certain bolts off before painting it? I'm wondering since I'l have my xj500 soon and will be taking carbs off to clean, and thinking I'll repaint the engine too. Or should I just tape off all the bolts? haha.
With mine I replaced all bolts after painting, all depends if you want to go to the extra effort of stripping your engine and get new gaskets or swap the bolts after painting
I'm sure it would, you're talking to a 2 stroke fan here. But I'm used to a 490cc single big bore 2 stroke. To be honest I'm not about speed but the look of things.
Been watching your channel for a while. I'm at the point on my project where I am going to paint the engine off of the bike. How did you paint the bottom? Did you just what tile the rest was dry and lay it in the side to paint it?
To be honest I'm going to keep the tank as it. I did put dents into the GS550 but I like the little crease this has, it's what drew me to this tank rather than the peanut one.
Matt, how long did it take to clean that engine? Did you not consider using a pressure washer? I do, block Holes with latex gloves stuffed with blue roll paper and cable ties, it works a treat with that Gunk, Top tip for next one maybe, keep up the good work fella, Ray.
It is really a big Engine . u really enjoy to ride it . how about mat black paint on it and crome lines I have 1 question here . my bike frame is made of iron roads if I weld S.S seat hoop dose it is gives strength ? and which welding gives strength to him. like TIG OR GAS OR ARC welding .bcz Hoop is v costly on Amazon so I decide to make it from outer market some where
Yeah it'll be black. Yeah to weld a hoop does give it strength, also stops the frame from twisting as much. Personally I use MIG, I used ARC on the GS550.
Really cool video! Have you subscribed :) where did you learn all these things? I am now doing the bike test and will bring with a Honda NC750S, but later I will also build a Caferacer, but I have no know how! greetings from Switzerland
Thanks for subscribing. I've just learnt them over the years, to begin with watching my dad work on bikes then doing them myself. It doesn't matter if you have no 'know-how'. Start on small jobs and work your way up.
Wouldn't call that a "light spray" think some even lighter coats would have worked better, heavy coats like that will be more likely to crack in the future.
For The Bold - dreegez yeah looks very practical as well as good looking. i run a building company so not short of a few pallets. also would be good to see you take one of the bikes out for a ride when road ready.
spraypaint near your beautyful bike that stands in the only way out that draws the wind to the outside (i dont know to say it right, english is not my native tongue) all i want to say the spraydust collects it on top of everything, cover your nice things up unto the ground, that there can no dust on it anyhow
That bike was ready for a respray anyway so wasn't that worried about it, plus rattle can has no where near the overspray a proper compressor & gun does.
iron phosphate before powder/paint tip:buy cheap garden slug killer mix with hot water apply hot don't wipe off paint/powder tip: powder makes you look good you can cure with heat gun and finesse mucho caliente
Just leaving it gleaming clean up as is would be way better look that painting it. No Doubt. Painting it is a sin. Replacement of the bolts of course is key!!!

Agreed
You don't talk to much! It's nice hearing how you're thinking and not just seeing the build
I'll remember that for the next one, to be honest I couldn't say much about spraying either ;)
You're right, this video was fine you got everything said that needed to be said but overall I enjoy videos where you share your thoughts!
Screw the people that say you talk to much. How are supposed to know what you are doing if you don't explain it. Keep on keeping on man!
Matte black with silver edges, sounds great. Can't wait!
Thanks, hopefully it'll turn out ok.
Gonna look great when its painted black. Also excited to see how much it changes aesthetically with the new rear shocks and front end
Thanks, still looking for the front end, proving a challenge.
Dope! I just fitted the gsxr forks to my cx500. Painted them metallic red. No mods needed just the all balls conversion bearings.
Did it work straight off? What year GSXr did you get?
All I had to do was punch out the old races with a flat head and install the new ones into the frame. Press the new bearing onto the stem and install. Im using an 03 gsxr 600 front end. According to the all balls website i think you can use any year. Just go to the fork conversion section and it will give you list
Good to know, I'm still on the lookout for a decent priced GSXR complete front end but they're still going for more than I paid for the bike.
Yea they can be pricey. I paid only 500 for the bike and have more than that in parts already.
Not a bad price. Are you in the UK?
Another great vid. But don't file down edges to show silver. This give moisture an in and can corrode. Paint the bits silver with a brush :)
Not a bad shout.

I missed Monday's video. Not a bad idea, thanks.
I'm living out my desire to start a cafe racer/brat vicariously through you. (I'm trying really hard not to pick up this local GS750.) Keep up the good work!
Go for it if you think it'll make you happy. Thanks for watching.
Been watching all your videos. Going to tackle my cb750 build ! All great ideas from you.
Thanks, and good luck
Really enjoying this build but i can't wait to see the wee suzuki finished
Thanks, the new parts are in for my Suzuki, just need to fix the fuel tank this week with some POR 15 before giving it another respray.
liked the video before it even played, love your channel! very inspiring
Amazing, really happy to hear you like my channel
Another great video as always! And for the record, I don't think you talk too much haha I rather like hearing where your had is at. Cheers
Ha, glad to hear someone likes to hear me.

Looking forward to the electrics vid... Coming on a treat mate...
Thanks, it's the bit that most people hate doing. I'll need to figure out the electrics tray on this one, going to be a bit different to the GS550
Good job mate ! You are awesome,You got me a lot of ideas for my cafe racer build ! Thanks !
Thank you, and glad the vids are giving you inspiration.
I wanted to build a 125cc cafe racer ...not the same as the 500cc but for the beginning is not so bad :D
It's good to start somewhere, any build is worth doing.
I'm sure it would, you're talking to a 2 stroke fan here. But I'm used to a 490cc single big bore 2 stroke. To be honest I'm not about speed but the look of things.
Great job dude! I can't wait to see it done!!!
Thank you.
Been watching your channel for a while. I'm at the point on my project where I am going to paint the engine off of the bike. How did you paint the bottom? Did you just what tile the rest was dry and lay it in the side to paint it?
Yeah, use a cloth under it when you turn it on its side, or do the bottom first.
are you gunna put the tank dents into it? i feel like its such a huge bubbly looking gas tank that it would give it a much slimmer feel if you did
To be honest I'm going to keep the tank as it. I did put dents into the GS550 but I like the little crease this has, it's what drew me to this tank rather than the peanut one.
Quick question: what parts or entries did you either tape off or plug with paper towel? Thanks for the videos, great stuff!
Any hole to be honest, exhaust inlet / outlet, water pipe entries, (there are a few of them) the hole for the starter.
Matt, how long did it take to clean that engine? Did you not consider using a pressure washer? I do, block Holes with latex gloves stuffed with blue roll paper and cable ties, it works a treat with that Gunk, Top tip for next one maybe, keep up the good work fella, Ray.
Really enjoying this but why not rent out one of thouse preasure washers that degreas?
Thank you. That's another way of doing it, I kinda find the laborious time it takes to be soothing sometimes.

im stealing your pallet wall idea haha
Go for it, I love it.
For The Bold - dreegez yeah looks very practical as well as good looking. i run a building company so not short of a few pallets. also would be good to see you take one of the bikes out for a ride when road ready.
Hopefully soon, I have all the intakes for the GS550 now so next step with that will be sealing the tank.
For The Bold - dreegez good stuff. be good to see it out on the road

can you please give us tips on building a tracker?
Yeah, absolutely, I'll make a video for it.
thank you.. you're videos are 👌
Thank you :)
i like hearing you as well
Cool, good to hear.
Hi. How many cans of primer did you use?
Only 1
iron phosphate before powder/paint
tip:buy cheap garden slug killer mix with hot water apply hot don't wipe off
paint/powder
tip: powder makes you look good you can cure with heat gun and finesse
mucho caliente
Polish the original aluminum like new condition with all new bolts. I think would be just as nice as the paint job. But it's your bike
Just leaving it gleaming clean up as is would be way better look that painting it. No Doubt. Painting it is a sin. Replacement of the bolts of course is key!!!
hi i was wondering where you get the vht paint
I got it from Amazon, there are a few on Ebay also, not easy to get a hold of I've gotta say, and it's expensive for 1 tin.
what brand do you use
what degreaser did u use before painting ?
I used U-Pol wipes.
is that the box of solvent wipes or the tack cloths ?
I don't think I showed it on here, they're basically like a pack of baby wipes or kitchen wipes.
cheers will pick up a pack engine cleaned and paint removed want to paint over the weekend cheers for videos theyve helped alot with my build 🖒
Thumbs Up!
Has a brand new workbench, puts engine on the stool and sits on the ground...
Just kidding, I can see why you painted it while it was on the stool😉
Ha, I hadn't had my protein that day to lift it up ;)
thn.soda blaster
heyyy
Hey
