that's a really beautiful track, looks like fun. 2022 season starts here next month at thunderhill which is an epic track! 200 ft of elevation changes, crazy blind hills... and lots of dirt runoffs. I'm going to push my Z to the limit for the first time after replacing all the bushings, suspension, exhaust, and I'm pretty sure that plenum spacer and CAI are worth 13 HP for an even 300+. on my to do list is a new rear diff with a 4.09. anyway enjoying your videos keep them coming.
H2R is a great little track, plenty of run-off as you saw in the video. Thunderhill, that's an epic track for sure! Definitely have fun pushing your Z on track; where the Z car truly belongs! What suspension are you going with btw?
@@2FIRacing I'm definitely nervous about doing so much over the winter so I'm urgently trying to get it all back together so I can give it some shake down runs before thunderhill. I think it'll be okay cuz I haven't had any problems so far what I'm mostly concerned with is everything being torqued. I'm nervous about vibrations loosening nuts and I didn't use as much loctite as I should have.
@@Aeneas137 I'm right there with you, every time I put something on or back onto the Z, I think....is this how I die? But, I'm quite positive that you'll get everything installed in time and will have some great runs out at thunderhill!
@@2FIRacing if you haven’t gotten to it yet I recently did the nismo 1.5 lsd and a 3.9 gear and it’s such a big improvement to the car. Not too difficult to setup either
@@red_barn_racing I haven't done the NISMO 1.5 yet, I finally just got around to installing the VLSD from the G37. I really like the 3.7 gear I can't imagine what the 3.9 would be like. I'll have to look into that. Thanks!
I remember talking with a roush tech way back in like 2008 about upgrades with their mustangs like the RS3 and the 427R and he said the number one upgrade you can make to any car is the tires. really nothing else matters at all if you've got plain street tires on the track. I always remembered that and the first thing I bought after picking up my Z last summer was Continental extreme contact sports just on the stock wheels so that could be why I haven't heard any tire squeal yet. I'm going to replace them with Enkei RPF1s when these tires are worn out. 18x9.5 only weighs 19 lbs. stockers are 24 lbs.
Tires for sure are an often overlooked part of building a car. I know these tires I'm running right now aren't the greatest; tbh its what I could afford at the time. But, I do plan on upgrading to a better set of tires. Absolutely running a square setup is a huge benefit to the Z chassis. RPF1s are always a solid choice!
Nice racing Tom, and good to see a fellow 350z driver on the track...
Thank you! I know I got a lot to improve on, but I love the Z platform, especially on track!

@@2FIRacing Tein-S shocks/springs, SPL bushings, solid subframe bushings, solid diff bushing, Z1 adjustable control arms, haven't even driven it yet! lol
@@Aeneas137 I'll be curious to hear how the Z1 Control Arms do!

Awesome man! Keep it up! That track is nice too, lots of runoff
Thanks man, I definitely will and H2R is a great little track for sure! All those run offs are good for guys like me. :P
😂 I love to see track spins and ooops (if no damage of course). I also post them up. No shame. ;) Keep safe out there!
Thanks! It was definitely an experience and I know there will be more as I continue.
Would love to see more of these, Tom!
Thanks Chris, I had a blast shooting this video and racing. I will definitely be making more!
Hi Tom, how is your plan with your differential
I have a 3.7 fd and I’m still deciding on either the OSG Super lock or Nismo 1.5 😩
Nice
