- This video is to hopefully help other people follow their dreams of becoming an esthetician! If you are about to choose a skincare school or have signed up for school this is a great video for you! See my experiences meeting other estis and my school uniform, school kit, some of the subjects we learned, etc.
I started and finished at the same time
PROTIP: practice while you have a teacher even if its nerve wracking. this stuff gets fun and you feel WAAAYY better if YOUR the one that practiced more than others.
and focus on learning the ORDER of steps so you know what comes next in each service. seriously, write down each action you see step by step and youll be fine even on your own
and focus on learning about disease and sanitation MOST
4facials back to back kinda hurts so use good posture. KEEP YOUR NECK UP
and prepare for a lot of downtime when there are no clients in school

I graduated from Paul Mitchell the school Costa Mesa back in 2016 and my experience was so similar to yours, but I'm licensed in cosmetology. I was so nervous for my state board test, I even got a hotel room the night before in Glendale too! It helps A LOT. you might be nervous for your state board but my best advice is just study all the skin terminology because the written part is in my opinion the most nerve racking part of the whole day. But if I can do it, anyone can. GOOD LUCK 👍🏻💪🏻✨

I wanna become an esthetician but im scared ill never be able to remove my acne no one will trust an estethician with acne! :(
I know exactly how you feel because we are the same skin type; you will definitely learn more about acne and be able to correct yours!! You will have some amazing before and after pictures to show your clients and that's what will get you work! I recommend taking a before picture the first day of school and then another after school is finished :)

Hi Nikki, Wanted to start by saying I love your work! Anyways, 2 quick questions! So I’m trying to enroll into a esthi class. And I’ve narrowed it down to Bellflower beauty, 21st century, and career academy. I’m stuck as to which one to start with, have you heard any success stories from any of the three? Lol
And my second question is, how does FAFSA Work with GWC? When I called cerritos college, they required a placement/assessment class, which I thought was ridiculous. Did you use fafsa or did you pay out of pocket? Thanks soo much for posting this video! It answered all my other 300 questions I had lol 😊
Several of my friends have been to Career Academy in Garden Grove and they loved it! I went to Golden West College in Huntington Beach. I'm not sure about the others.
Sweet! I’m waiting to get in to gwc for the cosmo program but waiting for the fafsa is killing me. Question are there different sessions throughout the year or is just one session per year ?
At least with the esti program there were two sessions per year...one beginning in January and ending in May and the next one beginning in May and ending in November :) The cosmo program is different because it's a year long, not 4.5 months.
