- Sandia National Laboratories researchers are using a blast tube to simulate extreme blast and reentry environments. The Validation and Qualification Experimental Sciences Complex combines large scale environmental test facilities with advanced engineering and diagnostics to solve complex national security problems. Advanced imaging and instrumentation provide quantitative data. Wavefront imaging at 35,000 frames per second shows blast wave dynamics invisible to the eye.

This is so cool to have military grade tests shown and breifely explained to the public !
Good piece of Pipe . Should get these guys to make my next set of Intercooler pipes .
1:09 Traffic cone taking it like a boss!
I guess they showed that *Tumbleweed* who's The Boss ! 🤣
I can't love this enough. This is just beautiful to an engineer like myself.
Brian Streufert You should see the tunnel the Russians got there is big enough they put a truck in front of it but they use a little bit more explosives
Some amazing scientists working for the devil. Still cool though.
Tumbleweed "foam" wave-shaping, looks fun - sign me up!
This is very interesting. Nice to finally know what causes some of those "booms" we hear in the city.
Aliens, of course...LOL.
Any time you can see the shock wave in slow motion replay, you know there's a huge amount of energy involved. Not unlike the explosion of that fertilizer plant .. the shock wave just marched along the ground .. wowzers.
I do not know how many times this stunt has been pulled in a local pipe fabrication shop, but it must be up in the tens of thousands.
I would love to get a job "testing" things like this. Check out that shock wave.
Glad you put these on
The last thing I was expecting to hear Jane Barbe's voice in was a video with a massive explosion, but here we are.
Like those are literally the Audichron AIS number clips, were those used for show in the video or is that what was actually used on site? That is just cool.
Those are some tough traffic cones, they don't move.
Maybe next time you should try cone shape. It will require less explosion and be much effective.
Good ol' Sandia..always there to help when ya need to improve on destructive capabilities 😂
Beautiful song
No more war!
Why not feed and educate the masses while you are at it.
Operation Tumbleweed-Snapper.
I want to know the joker was that decided a tumble weed was a suitable subject. ;)
What did that bird's nest ever do to you?
I can see a Heart at 1:00❤
Well then there , that thing sure could mess up someones day ( don't let your kids play with it )
I don't understand the purpose of this, but I'd like to see more
Safety of the missiles when fired with the speed when fired, travel, exiting the atmosphere, and reentry to impact. Don't want them to explode too soon or not at all.
How much can I buy one for?
my micra used to back like dat
Honestly, then the exhaust fell of in Liverpool.
Honestly.
I like my hotdogs kinda crispy but this might be to much
great......ffffffuuuuuhhhhhlllllllll
Heart shape at 1:00
What is the usage of that dry grass?
It's easier to clean than wet grass.
:(
It's probably used as a tracer.
@@franzfrand5350 Trace that air flow ?I think this is inaccurate
@@deepdarkfantasy2192 It looks like you have never taken a fluid mechanics course. It's used to monitor fluid motion.
I use gas in my blast tube, and have the camera focused on my neighbors face.
Ok....So, tumbleweeds.....NOT a good reentry vehicle design I take it....
Now, I'm sorry but that's disgusting. What did that bit of shrubbery ever do to deserve that? There it is, minding its own business, then BOSH! someone grabs it by its roots and the next thing it knows, it's hanging there about to be seriously abused by humans.
And that's just not on!
Don't worry, it was a tumbleweed-already dead. It simply donated its body for science...
The Russians do it way bigger than that one there’s is big enough you can put a truck in front of it and it’s made out of reinforced concrete
