300mph in the 1/8th ...yeah I've been 7.2 @ 65 mph in the 1/8th so, basically the same thing. 😂
Absolutely love the extra camera angles!! this channel just keeps getting better and better!!
True - This is the leader is shared GOOD material.
Thank you 🙏

Dear Mr. Millican, we ride along with you. Every week, we compete with you. We win when you win. And we can’t wait to ride In Dently for an entire *week* !
What an amazing run by the Salinas team! They're really on to something! Sorry to see you struggle on the cool tracks, but I'm sure y'all will get it figured out. 😊
Can't wait Jim O will get it for sure.
Was great seeing you Saturday. Thanks for taking the time to chat with me and my son.
I'm old enough to have witnessed the first 300 in the 1/4 mile (This was on TV), amazing to see them break 300 in the 1/8
I'm old enough to remember when the '50 Super 88 Olds was turning 90mph in the 1/4
1000’
@@DieselLes, I know they changed it, still say 1/4 out of habit, every other org. still does 1/4 mile or 1/8, so deal with it
@@crazylarryjr No you are correct Kenny burnstein went 331 years ago in a quarter mile not a 1000 feet
@@DieselLes You are wrong 31 years ago when Kenny burnstein went 300 it was a quarter of a mile not 1000 feet
How cool it must be to sit in the staging lanes and a top fuel driver sticks his head in your car just to say, "Hey" and chat a bit.
You are such a class act. Talk about a class act, someone who wants to talk about someone else's accomplishment before talking about himself. My hats off to you Clay!!!! #Ambassadorforthesport
Absolutely awesome effort to Salinas, this is what I love about racing, constantly pushing to go faster. Now the race is on for the first 340mph pass at 1000ft.
Great video Clay. 👍👍👍
Congratulations to Mike and his entire team!!! That said: I'm always rooting for your Parts Plus Teem to run for the Wally. SOTLP Clay.
See you in Texas in two weeks 🤠👍
Right on!
0-300 in an eighth of mile. Absolutely amazing.
Rooting for the whole Parts plus team. You guys are doing fantastic this year. 💪
Appreciate it!
Appreciate it!
Beauty shots? More like beauty and the load peddle beast 😉
You guys put in the work and it's paying off! Hang in there guys 😊
Can't wait to see Dentley on a drag week Woohoo!
300 in the 8th ! I remember King Kenny running 300 in the quarter !!! Unbelievable 😮
Thanks for the content Clay! Good luck at the next one!
Petal to the medal.
Donna is a trooper.
Good luck be safe
Dang it John, that dang used belt. Loved the interviews with the drag week cars Clay.
I am living the life watching you guys live the life ...
Go Part's Plus ❤
Looks like Rick was hitting the Pepsi pretty hard 😅
9:13 John Force has got to be the only guy still racing that has a grandstand named after him 😂
That was an incredible run by Mike Salinas! That's too bad for the struggles in the cooler sessions! Hopefully Jim O gets that figured out because running good in those cooler sessions would greatly help to qualify in the top half of the field and be able to run a lower qualified car in the first round and help win more first rounds. Wishing you the best!
So glad and amazed to watch the historical run of Mike Salinas's car. Really hoping you will turn the win right on Sunday !.😄
Love the Jim o raw. Pissed that the machine is not doing what it's told
That 3rd pass, it bounced up off the tire, but they were hooked up till they rebounded straight up in the air. Then blew em off.
Once y'all get the cold track temps dialed you're going to have a shiny new championship ring to show for it. It's going to be a matter of when this team picks up the championship, not if. Thanks for taking us along for the ride and we really enjoy watching this team grow and develop.
Fact!☝🏼
Wow , that Salinas run was incredible ! Your team is learning and advancing all the time ; I am sure you all will get the cold track issue figured out , and then you can start turning it up. Thanks Clay , much appreciated as always.
Big congrats to Mike Salinas and team. What an incredible run. Jim O, the coolest crew chief out there, will get things figured out for you all. Love your videos and the fact that no matter what it seems you always have a smile on your face! So thanks for being you and best of luck for the remaining part of this season and for many seasons to come.
Thanks for another great video! Nice to see Mr Ware was able to attend, praying Cody is doing well.
What's going on with Cody?
Darn. I saw those numbers in the Thumbnail and thought it was Gas Prices falling
14:40 - Everybody knows a full run belt is way more expensive 🙂
Please continue to show us this racing.
Like to to see the team work!
Hey Clay! It is AWESOME to see you, Jim O. & the kids do so well. I wish you and the whole team all the best. God Bless and good luck the rest of the season and beyond.
I hope Jim O. figures out the cold track tire shake issue very soon. My own thought is that it may be clutch flow timing but I'm not a dragster guy.
Thanks Mr. Millican, I was one of those people that ask about the track temperature.
Thanks for the videos Clay!! Love watching the behind the scene footage.
More to come!
This is such a great channel Clay on RUclips. Seems like I just can't wait to see you on RUclips. It does brighten up everybody's day, and everybody does say that. People need people like you to reassure them and think positive about life in general we love drag racing and we love you clay. Thank you for being so positive and inspiring people. I found out I have some kind of a blood disorder kind of like cancer, and when I watch your channel, it just brightens my day. So thank you clay.
Thank you I am glad you enjoy it. I enjoy doing it.
Trial and error 😎 you’ll get it 👍
Thank you for sharing Mike's history making run.
You bet
I remember when they were trying to make it to 200 miles an hour they didn’t think they could do it or it could be done it’s amazing how far y’all pushed it I love your videos I like the maroon truck and dentally videos and the dragracing
Wow. 300 in the 1/8th . You get that cold track workin for you ill bet you will be right there along with a couple of other guys too. That will definitely put some MAGIC in the air! Go get em clay SOTLP
Clay, one thing I notice is that your burnouts are shorter than others. Perhaps on a hot track this doesn’t matter but might on a colder track?
Clay are you liking the short burnout?OR …… is your car and your team liking the short burnouts?
Reminds me of Chad Head or John Hale when he drove for Jim Dunn
I love that Clay supports the grassroots racer!
300 in the 1/8th is truckin. Holy smokes. Parts Plus RWR car never out of it though. Keep it up Clay love ya. Stay positive always will come around just some weird weather no big deal.
Milestone records are cool.
I saw Ash Marshall make the first 200mph (211mph) in Australia at Lakeside in 1969, it was special.
Thanks, Clay... always great to see your vlogs. Keep digging.
Thanks, will do!
This just means they will cry that the cars are too fast for 1000' ft now just like they did when they stopped running the 1/4 pretty soon yall will only be running to the 330' .
Who is they ?
@@claymillican25 funny car guys like John force. And a bunch of other NHRA. All it will take is one accident that's why "they" are only running to the 1000' instead of 1320'
I am pumped for Sunday, the Mid-West Nationals.
I will see you there Clay!
Maybe I'll get to have you autograph another blower belt, but hopefully not yours this time...😁👍
A question for the drag racing mathematicians out there... If a car runs a 300mph eighth mile, what would the theoretical ET and speed be at 1320 feet? (that's if 1320' was still a thing). I'm just curious.
Hi Clay, longtime follower here… What is the general questimate from crew chiefs in the paddock on what’s the limit these rail car will run with the current rules?
I would have to say you are seeing the limits we are pushing these things hard as we can every run.
@20:02 Clay mentions the 'bounty' for a 300mph 1/8th mile lap,, that bounty is $30,000.
Amazing a car pushing that much raw power. Massive amounts of fuel and air. Tons of downforce. 12K HP. And adding 3 grams to the fingers is the difference.
It’s hard to believe that I haven’t been this excited about drag racing. Last time it was the King Kenny Bernstein double dipping in top fuel and funny car. Budweiser was the name that stood for a proud America and a great sponsor. As I understand, it’s even louder today. I remember getting a load of interstate batteries there in Bristol. The first time I heard thunder valley wake up, I had no clue what it was. It got loud and one or two times I could barely feel it.
Pomona Dragstrip early 90’s.
I was holding your buddy’s phone when you drove the chevelle Got a pic with you and freiburger and you signed the time slip from Gainesville when you rode juicy all weekend and almost won #JUICYSTRONG💪💪
Indeed, those clutch application/management issues are very real. Hopefully, everyone will consider some testing because it seems like there’s an opportunity that’s knocking at the door. It seems that everyone feels that you’re very close to getting over that hump.
Meanwhile, keep your heads up!!
We have total faith the Top Fuel PartsPlus drag racing team will find the combination it takes to get the car to grab the track and propel your hotrod rite on down Broadway at the speed and ET you need to score yet another WIN!
Stupid, but a couple more lbs of rear tire pressure on the cold track may help it get through that shake issue and help the clutch setup you are running. Just my 2 cents. Running over the bottom wrinkles in the short burnout. They are not heating up the same, to increase the pressure the same. But run #2 was better. Especially if the clutch wear was reduced.
Yes, I stayed at a Holiday Inn recently in my first test session back on a quarter mile track at Vegas.
Last time I was in Tennessee, I was at the Cracker Barrow and a fella there said if I ate little goat berries/cocoa puffs, would turn gray hair brown….. wow,, did you hear that too ?
I love how no matter how bad the run goes, you never beat yourself or your team up over it. All you do is say ( let's try again) and keep pushing. If only more people was built the way a good ole southern boy like yourself is the world would be a much different place.
Clay, I remember not long ago funny car teams were playing header games by changing the angle and slopes of the headers for better downforce and aerodynamics and it helped. Do dragsters change headers for any reason or are you mandated to run specific headers and what are the requirements?
Mikes record run looked fast on tv. This has been a real enjoyable season. More tribute cars in 2024. The broadcasts have been so awesome. Slow motion camera shots are best in motorsports. Your car clay is my favorite has a classic look love it.
Alright Clay. Next Kline Ave trip give me a heads-up. Coffeecand donuts on me
You’re one class act guy man I definitely love how much you interact with everybody!
💥💥💙💙💥💥
How does it only gain 38mph on the back half that's more mind blowing to me
The cars are limited as to what rear gear they can run and I'm pretty sure max RPM too. This gives an absolute limit to top speed.
A joy to be any where near..champion zlookin g forward 2 seeing you '°°pvt
Watching the motor test makes me think pepper spray would have little effect on a race team member.
Wow I new you all had that capability awesome
Rob Flynn, my favorite Canadian besides Rick Ware
💯💯💯💯
Hey, clay, looking forward to you doing sick week? I live in FLA and I would love to see you at Bradenton. Hope to see you at sick week, brother.
I hope so too!
300 in the 1/8 wow, thats ripping it
2.93 @ 300.80 in 660’ …. Yikes
Err Concord, NC
I hope you guys get the cold-weather setup right because down here in Bradenton, it's pretty chilly in February down here
We will!
@@claymillican25 love all your videos been following you for many many years keep up the good work I see a good championship fight with you guys good luck
Wow! Salinas really got serious and showed what can be done when you’re serious. As amazing as that is, it doesn’t ensure the win. Hard to believe.😳🤔
Wish just to do 1run with clay double top full
IMO you guys need to do a little longer burnout from what I see. The tires and track is too cool for a short burnout.
Who are the folks that ride behind you in the van??
the chairs in the trailer need zerk fittings lol
I want to see 300 at the 1/8. COME ON boys and girl haha. Ty for all the back scene that we never see
Omfg posted before I watched the full video lol. Stand on that bud.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thank You Rob Flynn Aaron Cave !
Clay ya need bigger burnouts.
Clay, back in the day funny cars use to run Crower Glide clutches. What do funny cars use for a clutch these days? BTW, love your vids.
Jimbo call was something you have to do it is how you find out if your team can get a record run GODSPEED PARTSPLUS
Nice.
Go fast is amazing time.
Absolutely Stunning....Imagine the 1/4 mile time and speed?? IF?
Clay and crew y'all rock! Salinas wow 300 in a 1/8! Y'all will figure out the cold tracks soon. Peace
Great video as always. Couldn't make it this weekend so good luck this coming weekend at st. Louis.
Clay, what are you checking with the mirror during warm up?
Neutral
good thing top fuel doesn't run 1320 feet anymore, 1000ft really slowed the cars down.
Courtney is such a cutie
I really enjoy your channel, now a question I haven't been to a drag strip since the moved the engines behind the driver.
I noticed that on occasion a crew member moves along the right side ahead of you opens a little door what's going on been a fan for a while at 75 years young
We don’t do that other teams do. They are pushing a button to charge the air system for the clutch.
Thanks for taking time to answer
300 in 1/8...wow...surprised it was not 340 in the 1/4.
I think it is a matter of time until the 1000 foot race is changed to be the 1/8 mile race
and leave more room to slow down.
Love you guys & girls
Anybody know what Clay is checking with the little mirror? Google wasn't helpful. I've seen multiple drivers do it of course. Thanks.
We have answered that in multiple videos. The very short answer is checking for neutral.
@claymillican25 thank you so much, I don't catch all the deep dive videos but I was at Bandimere this past year. What an awesome time. Thanks again
@@claymillican25 I'll do a deep dive and get into the nitty gritty this channel is amazing I've learned so much
I'd replace all the tire pressure gauges. Something is up in those Eagles.
OMG I spit my coffee out when I heard “he put a full run belt on” haha!! So funny. Keep it up!
Glad you enjoyed 😁
Who is the guy standing next to you in the trailer during the run analysis? He did nothing all weekend when I was in Chicago. Just sayin. Take Care :)
Much Appreciation Again My Man! Fantastic Content🏁🏁🏁
How loud is the car when sitting in it compared to when you are in stands or on standing starting line ? … what ear plus do you use ? Did they ever figure out what happened to mikes tire at maple grove when it blew out ?
That’s a lot of questions. I wear custom molded ear plugs. Not as loud setting in the car. It was Doug Kalitta that blew a tire.
@@claymillican25 oh ye it was Kalitta oops 😬
