  • I accidentally found a report about job market prediction in U.S. up to 2032.
And I was gladly surprised to see Software developers at 2nd place. More and more we see that demand for software engineers is still there and hype about "AI will replace all developers" is going down more.

Github copilot is a long shot from doing our jobs as developers. You could maybe write more and more code autonomously, but to build the systems we use today you will still need many many more developers.
People don't realize that writing code isn't our only job as developers. There is security, QA testing, code reviews, meetings, bug fixes, improvements, DevOps, CI/CD pipeline maintenance, deployment, network, data, client support, project management, and more.
Some jobs have separate roles for some of the duties I listed above, but the point stands. Also who are they more likely to hire for said jobs, a IT bro who can't code or an experienced software engineer? I think the latter.
I think software will be one of the LAST jobs automated, and instead more responsibilities get pushed on the developers while others get laid off. Permanently.
If you want to survive layoffs, I'd recommend electrical engineering, software engineering, or a combination of the two. Cause these jobs, they are gonna be one of the few standing come AI revolution.

"People don't realize that writing code isn't our only job as developers". I cannot agree more with you here.
I hate videos like "O look, chatgpt can create a web pages from the design and now software engineers are doomed". Sometime I feel like people want software engineers to go away because on average software engineering is highly paid :D
I remember one "friend" of mine were jealous that I had much higher salary because I am in software engineering. But he did not want to accept the fact that during my university I spent a lot of time study while he was parting and doing nothing all the time.
But I do agree that usually people still don't understand what software engineering is and that writing (like typing) the code is just part of it.

      Electrical engineering?

    • @user-qm7tl2xm8s
      @user-qm7tl2xm8s 26 дней назад +1

@@zikomo8913 yes, because as AI advances it will consume tons of data which require data centers which require power.
We will need electrical engineers for our power systems.

I disagree with what you said about the bar lowering, its actually raising. The industry is saturated, that means more engineers have either more experience than you or a Computer Science degree. Without a degree or at least 5 years of proven experience you wont event get an interview. It was a harsh truth I realized after spending an entire year to get a Full Stack Engineering certificate. After realizing what jobs were asking for I realized I can get my Degree in 4 years, before I can get 5 years experience lol ... Anyway, I started my own company, I'm building my own projects, and working on my Degree simultaneously. ;)

      > I disagree with what you said about the bar lowering, its actually raising.
I am comparing with times when I study CS and then started working as software engineer. At least in my town I would say the only way to learn programming was to go to University and get classic CS degree, otherwise it was impossible to find a job and hard to learn actually.
Now I see tons of available resources where you can learn CS related knowledge like algorithms and data structures, different courses (e.g., I watch some Computer Vision courses from U.S. university), how to dive into specific craft like backend, game dev, etc. So this is why I'm telling the bar has lowered, only what you need is time and consistent learning and you can learn lots of stuff for free. Without going into University.
      > or a Computer Science degree
When I do interviews I never pay attention if a person has or has not a CS degree, but we always check that knowledge in some say (based on craft and position). And the reason again - you can learn that in different ways, you don't need a CS degree specifically.
      > have either more experience than you
I think that was always a case, but maybe during last it was way easier to get a job with not that much experience, so right now it's adjusting.
      > Full Stack Engineering
I think Full Stack is not the best option to start software engineering as you need to be good at frontend and at backend at the same time and it's hard for beginner.
      > .. Anyway, I started my own company, I'm building my own projects, and working on my Degree simultaneously. ;)
      That is cool, good luck!

Hello sir. Sir I am not good at maths so can I learn and practice dsa and actually become good at it??

    • @_RomanV_
      @_RomanV_  27 дней назад

Yes, of course you can. No one is born with good math and DSA skills, it's just a question of time and consistency. You can find lots and lots of free materials about DSA even here on the RUclips. Just search for "Data structures explained" or something like this. Plus you can practice algorithms and structure for free on sites like leetcode. Not everything will be available for you, but most of tasks with explanations are free.

Love your content but hard hard disagree on this one.
    Tech jobs won’t recover. Period.
People will have to consume less tech not more if they have to make a living going forward. People will stop paying for not so important tech services. Overall demand for consumer tech will go down and not up because it’s already at it max levels.
    Internet penetration is also saturated.
And AI will let people do more with less.
All the people in tech will be in tech because they will not retire, thanks to inflation and high costs of housing.
Future is not great folks. Be realistic.
And choose your career carefully. Only come to tech if you’re really passionate and want to work in it for a long time. Get quick rich was a zirp thing. It’s not going to be easy from here.

      > " Overall demand for consumer tech will go down and not up because it’s already at it max levels. "
I think what you miss is that consumer tech is only part of Tech industry. Instagram/RUclips/etc is just part of it, there are tons of applications of software engineering in other place. not only inside the Internet. Plus, even in consumer tech new types of content are coming and usually it's connected with new development.
      > " Only come to tech if you’re really passionate and want to work in it for a long time. Get quick rich was a zirp thing."
well that is true for a long time. Tech is not the place for easy money, at least specifically software engineering. I know people who tried to come into coding just because of money and they cannot get high salaries as it requires you to do a lot of work. Maybe somewhere it was like this, like going for easy tech job with high salary, but I never experienced that.
