I was born and raised in Nagoya, but now live overseas. My family and I spent 4 days at the hotel last summer and absolutely loved it. It was so convenient to have access to many department stores, restaurants, and transportation. Your lovely video brought back our fond memories. Thank you. We really miss it now. ❤
thanks for this! i'm hoping to go to Ghibli Park in December (if I get tickets!) and was looking for places to stay. I love how there's a full size bath.
It's a gorgeous hotel! Did you see my video about things to do in Nagoya as well? I think it's quite an under-rated city! ruclips.net/video/TpN253j8Do8/видео.html Hope you manage to get Ghibli tickets!! 🤞
Thanks! I don't do many sponsored videos, but I'm more than happy to work with JR as Japanese trains are awesome! You'll be glad to know they're also lovely people. 🥰
Nice video! I've stayed there so many times, I can almost smell the room watching the video. I love the fact that during summer, you can spend the whole day in the shopping complex with loads of restaurants and shops without getting out in the heat., and venture out when the sun is down and the suffocating heat is cooling down. The lower prices are during the summer. Nagoya gives you the Japan experience without the tourists 😄. The Nagoya SCMaglev and Railway park is my favourite in Japan.
Great choice of hotel! That's a good point - I'm always amazed at how far you can go and how much there is without going outside sometimes! Also very practical on rainy days. Can't wait to edit my Maglev & Railway Park video - it's going to be a long one as I filmed so much!
Definitely, nothing to complain about at all! I loved the train museum - can't wait to edit the video, although it might be a long one as I filmed SO MUCH!
@@cakeswithfaces I love the old town atmosphere of Boston. 💖✨ I've never been to the U.K., but I think it's probably similar to an old British port city. 🧐
@@あいうえお-o6s1f I did think Boston looks a lot more like the UK or Europe when I've seen pictures! I want to go to Johnny Cupcakes' store there - he's been a big inspiration to me!
I like your videos and been following you for a long time. I don't think that many people are very interested in the different compartments where you can store stuff in the hotel rooms though. At least I don't normally even open them. More focus on general look of the room and then telling about what you can see around it would feel more useful to a tourist that would be looking to go to the hotel. At least that's how I would see it.
Fair point - it was my first time looking round the room when I was filming so I had no idea what each one was. Although I guess I could have edited it out.
That hotel looks stunning and so spacious! Haven’t decided yet if we’ll visit Nagoya as we probably want a break from the big cities (rural folks), but maybe stop on the way to/from Kyoto. Can I ask which outlet type (A or B) your adapter is compatible with? And do you have a converter?
Nagoya's an easy stop as it's on the way. It's still very much a city (4th largest in Japan), but from there you can take the train up to Takayama which is much more rural, and see the old houses in Gifu. There's also a small town called Hida Furukawa where there are koi carp in gutters along the streets. 😍 The side trip's 2.5 hours, which might sound long, but the scenery's beautiful on the way. The adapter I use for Japan is a worldwide one with several attachments, and the one for Japan is the same as the one for the USA (two flat pins). The voltage is different so you shouldn't take certain things like hairdryers (but they're always provided). It's fine for charging phones, camera batteries, etc. In it takes longer as it's lower voltage, but it's not that noticable.
@@cakeswithfaces Never thought about doing side trips from Nagoya but will look into it more since it is so accessible from Kyoto (the place we’ll stay the longest in). Gifu is definitely on our list now 😄 Thank you so much for the recommendations, can’t wait for August 🤩 We are from Sweden so we’ll get an adaptor to US/JP outlets but the main ones sold in stores are the type B ones, with 3 pins, will it be a problem? I see, we’ll probably just bring our phones as the only electronics so then we’ll be fine. Thanks as always ❤️
It's owned by Japan Railways Central. But I know you mean the Marriott brand isn't Japanese. Actually I didn't really notice any differences between this and Japanese chain hotels I've stayed in, in terms of how western/Japanese it seems.
@@cakeswithfaces Mie Prefecture is really out of the way but the coastline is beautiful I think and the two major shines of Ise Jingu are extremely important.
I Love Japan ♥️
Me too!! Hope you enjoy my videos!

It must have been lovely showing your family where you grew up and all your old haunts!
Will be staying there next month. Thanks for the tour.
Enjoy - it's a fantastic hotel!
What an amazing hotel. I absolutely love it 🏩😍. I'll definitely add this to my Japan bucket list 🇯🇵📃
A beautiful hotel - absolutely no complaints there!
Food glorious food

Thanks for another great video about Japan. Great hotel with a view 🙂

Great video as always. Hotel looks fabulous 😊
Thanks so much! I loved staying there, it was a real treat!
Luxurious!
It was a real treat!
that's so great to see hotels along the train route 😁
Makes it very easy to stop off in Nagoya. (And you'll want to for the train museum!) ✨
You did a great job on this video and greetings from Park City, Utah🇺🇸.
Thanks! I went to Utah once, to Zion & Bryce Canyon - amazing places! 😍
Nice hotel, Amy! Looks like you enjoyed it. And it's wonderful seeing you getting some "sponsorships" for these hotels and such. BRAVA!

I may have missed the point here - my favourite part of this video was Amy's genuine enthusiasm for stationery! :)
YES! While some people get excited about perfume or jewellery, I am excited about stationery!!
Flawless hotel. I'd stay there in a heartbeat! Looking forward to the train museum (will be sending the link to a couple of train nuts I know).

Cool 😎 movie stars hotel. It's adeguate to you .
Definitely travelling in style! 🌠

I've stayed at the Marriott in Boston and it was fantastic. 👍
But the Marriott in Nagoya is also wonderful. 💖✨
Good to know the Marriott's good everywhere! I'd love to visit Boston one day!

As I expected, they are similar. 🥰
Boston is the most historical city in modern America. 🧐💖✨
when the largest station is more organized than shinjuku....putting nagoya on my bucket list. haha

There is a risk I could forget to leave that Hotel.
Hehe you'd be quite happy! I'm sure the room's bigger than some apartments in Japan...!

I love the ceiling in the cocktail bar. It’s weird how it’s all in segments. Maybe it is a prefabricated art work? 🤔
I hope they painted it when it was on the ground rather than having to paint it on the ceiling!
Hi Amy, congratulations for getting the stay sponsored stay by JR central. By the way, did they reach out to you for the sponsorship?
even our 5 stars hotel don't have anything like this. I think if I choose between a million pounds or to live there forever... well it's obvious
Why go to a American hotel in Japan.

If you're in Nagoya, you're (somewhat) close to Mie Prefecture. I think you'll find Ise Jingu interesting.
Thanks for the recommendation! Nagoya's a good stopping-off point for lots of side trips!
