I’m so glad that I found this video! Miyashita Park is gorgeous and I was considering staying here at this hotel for my next visit, but the check in situation alone is enough to put me off. I’m always so tired after the long flight followed by all of the airport business and locating transportation to the hotel that I need the check in process to be as easy and smooth as possible. Good thing about Tokyo is that there are so many options! ❤ Thank you again for another helpful video. 🤩👍🏼
Yes there's so much choice!! As much as I wasn't a fan of the check-in process, if you really like the look of the hotel, I wouldn't let it put you off too much! ☺️ PS Is that a Tokidoki painting in your profile pic?
Thank you for more hotel fun from Japan Amy, 🇯🇵🇯🇵🇯🇵 really loved seeing the view from the window like always and thanks much for the recommended stays and prices, 👏👏👏
Hiya! Ordered the book this week and it arrived today. My housemate was incredibly impressed by the wrapping and the stickers that held it! xD Thanks a lot!
That's quite cool! A park in the sky on top of the buildings and it looks quite cool. Don't speak sq ft though, so I'll take your word that it's small 😅Talk about a lively city! Man! With that view...
I’m on the 8th floor in the corner room (train track side). Friendly staff. Did a room change that cost 35,000 yen with another 800 yen for accommodation fee. No coffee or tea in the room.
Sorry you guys had trouble signing in but great you were finally able to, and wonder why those are there maybe because they don’t have enough or can’t find any people with what’s going on now,??? Me and my mom talk about this and agree what’s happening now,
Thank you for the information. Can you give me some advice of which city and hotel should I stay in Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka with not too expensive and good area. we will go to Tokyo Disney sea too. This is our first trip to Japan. Thank you!
This video describes the process I use to choose a hotel in Japan: ruclips.net/video/TAmhxg9MwIc/видео.html There are so many, and I've never had a bad experience, so you can't go too far wrong (just do a quick check of the reviews before booking). Prices change so much (especially these days) that rather than sticking to specific recommended hotels, it's best to go on a hotel website like Expedia and choose one that looks good at the time. In Tokyo I like staying in Shinjuku. In Kyoto, somewhere north of Kyoto station, near the Karasuma Station / Kyoto Kawaramachi Station area will be a good central location (there are lots of reasonably priced options in Kyoto). In Osaka, stay somewhere near Dotonbori to be near the city centre.
Hi Amy, Really appreciate your reply and advice. I will look into it. The first two day I will stay in Shinjuku as you advice. After visit from Kyoto and Osaka, we will like to go Disney Sea. Should I stay Shinjuku or Which city should I stay? Our family are enjoy watching your video. Wishing you all the best. Thanks again! @@cakeswithfaces
@@sandralee5304 Disney Sea's only a short train journey from Tokyo, so you can either stay in Tokyo city or in the Tokyo Disney area if you prefer. You get the train there from Tokyo Station (it takes 15 mins), so staying near there would be a good idea if you prefer to stay in the city. I've stayed in the Shimbashi area several times - it's close to Tokyo Station and there are lots of places to eat nearby. If you prefer to stay closer to Disney Sea (if you'll be there all the time and not doing anything in Tokyo itself), here's a list of hotels from the excellent Tokyo Chapter blog: www.thetokyochapter.com/accommodation-near-tokyo-disney-my-picks/
Thank you so much for quick response. now I know which city I should stay. You are awesome. Wishing you a Happy, healthy and successful life. @@cakeswithfaces
Seems like all of the hotels are now using self check in. We unfortunately had to postpone our trip last year and I have been booking hotels and noticed most have self check in. The first time I went one of the hotels was like this and it was a struggle to scan the passports and had to request a human.

The view is amazing! 😍
My last trip to Japan… I was 5 minutes away the airport (Haneda) to my hotel. I had a nice view of Haneda airport
It's always exciting to see the planes!

Thank you so much! That's much appreciated! 🙏🥰✨
I love the hotel 🏨 and the view 😍. It is in such a convenient area. I hope that you had a great time in Japan 🗾👘❤️ 🫶 xx
It was definitely worth it for that view! 😍
Awesome running into you at teamlab. 🤙🏽😁
What a coincidence! Great to meet you! 🙌
Are you in Japan right now Amy?@@cakeswithfaces
@@vervain07 Just got back! 🙂
Funny to run into you a second time at Mojiko station. After our first encounter didn't work out. Nice to meet you.
Hope you enjoyed the rest of your trip! We just landed home this morning 💤

It was definitely worth it for the view! Makes you really feel like you're in Tokyo.
We stayed at the nearby Shibuya Stream Excel but like the park area for eating
It can be so tricky to find somewhere to eat in Japan! Or somewhere with benches to rest your feet for a moment!
Very helpful video, thank you! Looking at which hotel i should book in Shibuya later this year actually :)
There's also a room tour on my channel of the Shibuya Excel Hotel Tokyo - we were lucky to get a view of Shibuya Crossing!
Awesome job Amy drop a like.
Thank you!
No problem
I tried to make a reservation for six days and it only allowed me for one. Something is wrong with their website
Oh no! If it helps, I booked on Expedia, but I always shop around the various hotel websites to find the best price.

Ah does the corner room have windows on two sides? I liked the look of that room; it's an upgrade to what we had.
@cakeswithfaces 1 window facing the park and 2 windows facing the tracks. Did that we have a kettle and two cups, but no tea or coffee.
Interesting. Which code did you end up using for UK?
I can't remember now what it was, but we got there in the end! 😅

Self service is quite common in Japan eg at ramen restaurants where you order on a vending machine, so I guess it's like that!
Were the beds comfy or hard being on wooden platforms?
They were perfectly comfy (especially after trekking around Tokyo all day!) - I think the wood's just around the edges for styling. :-)

@@sandralee5304 Thanks so much! Have a wonderful first trip to Japan!
Is a twin room 2 single beds?
Yes, although sometimes you'll get 2 semi-double or double beds for no reason! ☺️

It's still only some of them - for me, that's been the only one recently, but it depends which hotels you pick. ☺️
Train noise would be a no no for me.
It didn't stop me sleeping, but when you're by the window you can hear it faintly.
