Great time for Sakura! We just missed the full bloom. And please check out the pinned comment on this video. There seems to have been changes but you can’t see it on Google Maps, I just checked right now. Hope you have an awesome time. It’s an amazing place.
I really hope it helps. That first day not know how to get to the hotel after that flight was one of the most stressful parts of the trip, but It’s such a great hotel and the laundry is such a big deal. I was pretty happy about the breakfast being free. Got lucky on that one 😁. I hope you have a great trip.
Super helpful, thanks for the heads up, I definitely would have done the same thing getting lost with turn by turn directions, thanks for the killer video!
Thank you for the video. Was wondering what this hotel was going to be like but good enough. Plus it's in a prime location for fun 🎉 will likely go with this one!
I’m happy you liked it. It’s a good hotel. I highly recommend Pizza Marumo and Bar Trench. You can walk there from Hyatt House if you’re up for a bit of a stroll.
FYI for folks following the directions from Shibuya station: as of 2024-07-21, the "New South Gate" has moved from its original location as shown at 5:12 to the elevated walkway between Shibuya Stream and Sakura Stage (the white block over the train lines left of the "Shibuya Stream Excel Hotel Tokyu"). As of 2024-08-27 Google Maps has not been updated yet. 2024-11-01 Update: for some reason the pedestrian bridge between the two buildings has disappeared from Google Maps.
Thank you so much for this! We're planning to stay here soon and the section on how to get here from the station is very helpful. Question for you. Is New South Gate also close to the Narita Express platform (to go to and from Narita Airport)?
I’m really happy you like the video. I’m not sure about the Narita express but there have been some changes. I’d look at the pinned comment at the top, someone has told me they’ve moved the New South Gate. I would recommend using the exit that Google maps recommends. And focusing on the Sakura Stage. I hope these updates help.
I had similar issues using the walk function on google maps, the direction dot seemed confused and sent me back and forth without reaching my destination. Spent over two hours lost in Shinjuku station. I later found a video that suggested using the car symbol for the route finder and this worked fine. I will check out this hotel.
That’s a bummer and Shinjuku Station is pretty big too. Thank you for tip about using the Car Symbol. I’m going to try that out the next time we go. 😊 Let know how you like the hotel if you end up choosing that. I’m curious to see how it’s doing.
Thank you for this review! I'm looking into booking this place for my next trip. Random question but what app do you use to make those graphics on the map? Thanks!
Thank you for the clarification on the New South Exit, I never knew you could just cross on over from that exit to Hyatt. I'm wondering if we should always just aim for the New South Exit Entrance/Exit (seems more direct and less walking) than doing what Hyatt has suggested on their own website even for the other metro lines like the Ginza Line (essentially Hyatt says to go Sakura Stage Building->Shibuya Stream Building->Shibuya Scramble Building via all the above-ground walkways).
Also to access the New South Gate overpass, do you need to tap your IC card to use it? For example I am at the Lawson across from the New South Gate Exit, can I use this overpass to go to Hyatt or do I have to walk to Shibuya Stream->Shibuya Sakura Stage (essentially taking a detour north then west then south via directing just going west) to Hyatt.
I think it all depends on the situation. If we ended up on the Yamanote Line the New Southgate Exit would be the best. But if you’re coming off of the Ginza line you’d probably only want to travel through the train station and exit New South Gate if it was really cold or something. But you’re still going to have to walk a bit from Ginza no matter what. I regards to using the Shibuya overpass, I think you have to take the detour through Shibuya Stream or you’d have to use your IC card, but I’m not 100% on that part, so please let me know if I’m wrong about that.
I will say there are ton of places to eat, but we only ate at one spot by the Hyatt House. That was Tengu Bar Shibuya West. You order with your phone so that gave us some time to translate things. If you’re not getting service and don’t speak Japanese I wouldn’t recommend it though. It was lively, and a little really enjoyed the Yakatori and High Balls. We ate a more than a few different kinds and I enjoyed them all.
We are arriving into HND at 8:30 pm after a 9 hr flight from Hawaii. Do you know how long it will take by train to the HP? I’m guessing we will arrive after 10:30 pm, would there be anything open for us to eat?
I’m not sure about the time to HP, but I can say when things closed, we would always lean on a convenience stores like 7/11 or Lawson’s. We got things like Onigiri 🍙, hot plates, and crème brûlée ice cream (too many times). The quality of food in the convenience stores was pretty shocking initially, so I think that’s a good thing to have in mind if it’s late and you want to get something that’s easy.
That’s unfortunate they are still having that issue. I know they trouble finding it when we were there as well. It’s a bit of a bummer because I really thought it was great hotel outside of it being hard to find.
Thanks man! straight forward and not wasting time.
Thank you! Much appreciated
This is very helpful! Thank you!
Thank you and I believe there has been a change. I’ve pinned the comment to the top of the section. I hope you have an amazing time in Japan.
This is so awesome, thanks so much. Staying there in April, and the metro directions are much appreciated

Thank you for sharing! I need all the help I can get! Hoping to stay there soon! That’s awesome you had free breakfast.

@@DanielandAliciaTravel Thank you so much Daniel! Your video is truly so informative. Now I just need to learn about the train system there!
Super helpful, thanks for the heads up, I definitely would have done the same thing getting lost with turn by turn directions, thanks for the killer video!
Thanks Eva, We’ll try and keep things helpful ☺️
Awesome! Great information!!
I'll be staying there in the fall. This was super helpful, thanks for making this!
Fall looks amazing! We’ll be heading back during the fall too, but that might be next year or the year after.
Thank you for the video. Was wondering what this hotel was going to be like but good enough. Plus it's in a prime location for fun 🎉 will likely go with this one!

Sakura Stage it is. Got it. Thanks again! :)

Great! Staying at Hyatt House soon so very helpful.
Good! I’m sure you’ll have an amazing time and we are already planning our return trip. 😊
does the washer/dryer machine in the room have a auto-detergent feature so no need to buy detergent from nearby shops?
Alicia tells me they provided the detergent, but we did bring ours from home as well. Out of all the places we stayed that was our favorite.
What was the pool like ?
It’s nice, more of a lap pool, but it’s indoors and heated.
Hey! Can you tell me if it had air conditioning? I like it really cold! Thank you
Yup, They is good AC. It’s a new Hyatt so everything is in good condition.
Thank you for this review! I'm looking into booking this place for my next trip. Random question but what app do you use to make those graphics on the map? Thanks!
I’m happy you liked it. I used After Effects and the free version of Mocha it came with for these.
What’s the WiFi speed in the room?
It was good, I was able to stream and upload videos with the same time I would have in most places in the US

Great, you save my time as google only shows how to walk from the road but not the closet exit
We’re hope it helps. The first time we tried to get there was kind of stressful, so we’re happy to help with that.
Hi what floor was your unit on? I’m here now and I am trying to switch units to a higher floor.
We were on the 11th floor. I hope getting there went smoothly.
Thank you for this!
any good places to eat around there for dinner?
I will say there are ton of places to eat, but we only ate at one spot by the Hyatt House. That was Tengu Bar Shibuya West. You order with your phone so that gave us some time to translate things. @@DanielandAliciaTravel Thank you for the feedback. What time does 7/11 and Lawson typically close?
I feel like that is a really good sized room for Japan.
We were really happy with it. The coffee machine and laundry was clutch. 😊
cab drivers had a hard time finding this place
That’s unfortunate they are still having that issue. I know they trouble finding it when we were there as well. It’s a bit of a bummer because I really thought it was great hotel outside of it being hard to find.
The location of this hotel is extremely confusing and difficult to locate. I also made a video.
I totally watched you videos AFTER we figured it out but I couldn’t agree more.
Awesome! Great information!!
