Quite unfortunate that people who don't believe in God, always blame him for the bad things that happen. In saying that it is much more unfortunate that Joel Olsteen has such a huge platform its people like him living so extravagantly that hurt the message. So i dont blame nonbelievers if the tv preachers are your only point of reference. All I can say is that God is good...and we are the ones that are fallen. God isn't the cause of bad things that happen, but yes there are times that he doesn't intervene and allows it to happen.. He will never force himself on you. The more our pride gets in the way, and believe that WE are the answer then there's no need of God in our life, he'll make himself less present.

Ant's criticism reminds me of the 2000's 'new atheist' takes on religion, most of whom are now SJWs by the by. I'm sure Ant has heard of Jordan Peterson, who tries to make some sense of the teachings of religion in a way that started to make sense for me as an atheist. Jonathan Pageau has some more good videos on the metaphorical truths that can be found in religion. I've definitely become more open to the validity of it since those 2000's atheist days. I used to be an anti-theist, and now I think religion is basically good especially for most people who fall on the wrong side of the IQ average curve. It's basically a moral framework for people who don't want to / can't make one for themselves from scratch. Also useful if you just want to not build a wheel twice.
