He definitely had an advantage by going last and by seeing your reaction to your pull, and the crowd reaction when he was judging when to stop or not. Either way love the pack battles. Just like anything you learn from your mistakes and it keeps getting better and better.
Haven't looked it up or anything, but I would think that Jefferson is more valuable but who knows really on a card like that. Awesome collaboration with Ryan! It's cool to see stuff like that.
instead of one person opening all their packs at once, you should alternate, or else the person who goes last has an advantage because they can judge what kind of card the other person has from the crowd reaction
Geoff, you should have bluffed at the end there, no matter what it was... "...and the last card.... Oh, WOW! We saved the best pack for last! What a card to go out on!". You might have been able to trick Ryan to keep passing on everything. lol
Great video. Next time alternate back-and-forth as you open each pack. Also the cameras need to be over your shoulder more directly down onto the mat so we can see the cards up close. Love these videos tho.
It’s close…. Recent best offers taken for under $200 for the Jefferson /75. But it is a Jersey number. Recent listings for Herbert patch non-auto /99: ~$175.
This one was ok but not as fun as some of the previous pack battles. Just a suggestion. Why don’t you do a drawing or something to have Geoff pack battle against someone attending the card show who isn’t a dealer?
So one tweak you need is to alternate packs. Otherwise the second to go always has an advantage, just by audience and opponent reaction. I understand its not critical and just for the crowd, but actually more interesting to watch when taken seriously.
The issue with the game rules on this is whoever goes first has an extreme disadvantage because their card is already highlighted to be beat by the other player, so they can stop (or go) and plan accordingly. In this case, it was very easy for Ryan to win because anything would have beaten Jeff, even Ryan's first pack. The only way to make it fair would be for both to pull cards at the same time without each other knowing what they pulled and then compare the one they chose at the end. Will still be fun for audience and even build more suspense because strategically, both players will get greedy. You can even throw in an element where they can propose a "draw" if they aren't confident with their pick, like in Jeff's case- he could have thrown a bluff with a "draw" because he didn't pull anything significant and it be a deal or no deal / "Golden Balls" split/steal type situation.
I have some ideas where you should take pack/box/case battles but with a world poker kinda twist! That is something i woould want to watch and get involved in!
Some perspective...when Prizm Football dropped December. If you're 1 of the lucky breakers and/or shops to get cases directly from Panini Wholesale, it was 1475 per 12 hobby box case. That breaks down to $122.91 per box & they were 1k/box on release day....I'm sure many still held some at that price point. I'm guessing Select was about the same. Mosaic FB...was 1188 for a case of hobby.
Don't ask the audience whether or not stop on a certain card. Sure, entertain and include them in the break, but it's like cheating when you ask the audience to tell you what to do, especially when they have seen both breakers' cards lol. Leave it up to the breakers to stay or not lol.
For that XRC redemption card Ryan got RB4 - which was North Carolina RB Michael Carter that was drafted by the New York Jets. He was the 4th RB selected from the 2021 draft.
Select is my favorite product and I cant even rip it because of the inflation prices are just absurd. $140 for ONE four card pack , or $1.2K for the entire box is absolutely ridiculous. dude fucked up not stopping at the herbert patch to /99 lol....I guess it was ok to keep going to see what the patch auto would be but passing on the patch auto you're then hoping a numbered card is left to beat Ryan OMG then he passes on a zebra?!?! Grrr!! Fun video
I gotta say it. If we wanted mem cards..they wouldn't have signed jerseys helmets and balls. Even with all of Herbie's hype. JJ was the winner even in Geoff's box.
Ryan is a cool dude. His shop was my lcs in Columbus before I moved back to Cali last Sept. I have a Question for The Card Investor.... I was just looking at Prizm psa 10 Basketball cards to get a rough idea of the appreciation over a few years. I've noticed several cards in auction selling (example:PD Ja Morant purple rc) is projected to sell around $100. My question is, with the prices of getting cards graded by psa at over 200 per card, are cards even worth getting graded if the raw value isn't higher than the price of grading? I assume the card was graded prior to the rise in grading prices so in my opinion the "asking" price should reflect the cost of grading, otherwise it's propbably best to sit on it until the value surpasses the cost.

@@SportsCardInvestor I'd be pumped to get a numbered mahomes!
This video taught me one thing and that’s not to waste 1000 bucks on a select hobby box
Feels like he should have scooped a couple hangers for 10x cheaper.
@@carsyncruz fo real
It is a gamble....I guarantee you guys that pulled 2,3,4, even 5000 dollar cards don't feel too bad about dropping a G on the box.
Peep there other pack battle with select hobby. It was a crazy box

The 1st one was a banger and now we have this one 🔥🔥🔥
Haven't looked it up or anything, but I would think that Jefferson is more valuable but who knows really on a card like that. Awesome collaboration with Ryan! It's cool to see stuff like that.
Of course they say keep going. They wanna see the cards. And whoever goes 2nd has a decided advantage.
I like this battle the one with juice was good also
Can’t go wrong with these two beast channels battling!
The intro 😂
These are better done in an intimate setting, felt like the crowd was dead. Still love the content.
100 the crowd killed the buzz
@@sportstalknow5507 why go if you arent gonna participate lol
Although this wasn’t as good as the one with Jin and Juice I still love these pack battles, please do more in the near future!
Tough box Geoff but fun video! Congrats to Ryan! Great job making cards fun!
It was a close one .... but had to go to Atlanta to get another victory! Thanks for the battle, Geoff!
You won't be so lucky next time!
Pack battles are the best videos

Good idea… next time!
I'm in Columbus OH and visit Card Collector 2... Great shop to go to
Let’s be honest select football is low end for these guys
its like you and I doing an Opening Day Baseball Blaster war lol
My dude about to get an Emmy Award for that intro alone 🤣
Cool battle....crowd was a bummer. 😂
They needed some coffee or red bull or something. Yeesh. They had the personality of wet laundry.
Love you guys!!!! Ryan and Geoff!!! Two of the best in the business!!!!!
Geoff, you should have bluffed at the end there, no matter what it was... "...and the last card.... Oh, WOW! We saved the best pack for last! What a card to go out on!". You might have been able to trick Ryan to keep passing on everything. lol

I love these pack battles, its unique how you do it, you should do these more often love the content.
This was awesome great contest
So I shouldn’t get a select hobby box
Fun battle guys! That Herbert and that Jefferson are nice! 🔥
Was that Chip Kelly in the audience wearing a Blue Polo!!!! LOL
Probably would have held on the Rivers. Only sale of that card was $70. But I understand you wanted to give a little show for the audience! Fun rip!
You gotta know when to hold'em know when to fold'em. Know when to walk away know when to run Geoff! 😂
Apparently I need more Kenny Rogers in my life
Love this community!! Great job guys! That was lots of fun to watch! :)

I'd like to see a whole room full of people doing that.like 20 people with the same boxes best card takes everything in all 20 boxes!
Nah that would be so much money to spend then just 1 person getting it all
@@seasntheoret6017 just buy a bunch of hanger boxes for 50 each
I think you guys should be opening at the same time (2 diff cams?). The more smack talk the better!
Do more of these just gotta do something creative with the crowd
pull a card worth getting excited over. When you pull crap from 2k in boxes no ones gonna get excited.

Should go each person opens a pack.. go pack for pack not one complete then other... would be more exciting IMO. Great clip thanks.
Pack battles are so entertaining, great video Geoff!
Nice of you to let him win by passing on Herbert. Herbert is basically the ace of spades in any box.
Awesome video awesome battle to amazing channels going Head to Head can't get much better than that have a great time at the national wish I was there
