Thanks for this video. My 2010 Sole F85 started speeding WAY up on its own (without any change in the display speed) and this was super dangerous. It would happen from 5-10 minutes into a run, from 7 mph up to max until I yanked the key. It has a brand new motor and brand new deck, and the speed sensor was in the right spot, seemed fine. It did this consistently. Drive and walking belt tension were good. Deck good. Lube good. Calibration always returned an LS1. I ordered a new control board ($270, ouch) put it in, ran the calibration, it passed, I figured I had it fixed. Tried to run on it today, 2 minutes in, it sped up to max. I pulled the key, ran the calibration, it barfed at LS1 again. Ran the mill with no one on, it ran fine, until 2 minutes in when it maxed itself out once again until I pulled the key. Rebooted, tried restarting, and now it just does what the above mill is doing, runs about 5-10 seconds before returning an LS1. Same as when I took the sensor off the screw and hung it alongside the 'mill. Hoping a new sensor will do the trick, and wishing the original symptoms had been more like what's in this video, because mine sure seemed more like a bad controller, and I think the old one was probably fine.
You are welcome . A couple of points to consider always make unit run with no one on it this will test your speed sensor . Move your speed sensor a little every way there is a speed light on top of controller board should flash if sensor is working see if it drops out when you get error (it should ) I see you changed your deck &motor .Was the belt changed also ?worn walking belts cause most of the friction issues once the unit runs fine with no one on it you will need to do a amp test to see if belt is bad. You can see
Thanks , i fixed mine , cockroaches have biten the speed detecting wire just pached with new wire in the broken place now it's fine and great. Thanks it helps many ,i appreciate it
Would a speed sensor issue cause uneven running speed from start up? Have a F80, and it'll throw a LS1 error after starting up. In the short time it is running, you can see the light for the speed sensor on the board flash. You can also see that the belt speeds up and slows down in that time, like it's hunting for the right speed. When I turn the belt by hand, I don't feel any binding. The motor is new, had someone out who said it was that and ordered and installed it, still have same issues. Belt is pretty recent, and lubed. Thanks!
Well the general rule is if the speed sensor led is flashing sensor is ok . Stuttering speeds are a signal that the controller Is going bad . I have a video on troubleshooting sole motor controllers . And more send me your serial number to Fitnesspartspro@ gmail.com I will try to help
We have a F63 Sole...Suddenly it wont run and now we get the LS1 error. The breaker in my garage popped (GFI) and the machine now wont run. We have gone through the Factory reset. There is power..goes through the factory reset process..You can hear it want to go but it does not. Thoughts?
Depends on what year but in general this sounds like a bad controller or motor. Send me your serial number to Fitnesspartspro. Gmail and I will send you links for testing
I have the exact same issue as your video. Occasionally it will run for several minutes at a time. I was on it with no issues a couple times this week for about 45 minutes. Sometimes it will runaway at high speed a few minutes into a run. Most of the time it will error out right away, just like your video. I replaced the speed sensor, but it still has the same inconstancies as before. When the treadmill does work the PWM LED will stay solid and increase in brightness as the speed increases. I would have assumed this would be blinking? Also, I confirmed the speed sensor with an ohmmeter, and it checks out. Even the original was working, but seemed a bit higher resistance than what I would have expected for a reed style switch. Is it the the motor control board?
Well I would first run it at different speeds with no one on it. If it works well then a worn walk belt could overheat your controller and cause these issues. Some of the older controllers do have a PWM light that brightens as the treadmill goes faster.Send me your serial number to Fitnesspartspro@gmail.com so I can send you links for testing belt. And troubleshooting controller lights if wanted
Thanks for the helpful video. I just got a 10 year old or so Sole F85 that looks like it was barely used. After 3 workouts (4 miles or so each) a friend used it and got an LS1 error. I checked it and get the error after 10 seconds or so. I tried a recal (what is the wheel diameter supposed to be for this model?) but that didn't fix it. I checked the speed sensor LED and it doesn't blink while belt is moving (before it shuts down) which sounds like it is a speed sensor error. The speed sensor looks like the right distance from the wheel and has some sort of epoxy to fix it in place. Are the magnets flush with the wheel? Could they have fallen off? Is it definitely the speed sensor? If so, does it matter if I replace with the exact same sensor? I'm having trouble finding one (mine is cylindrical) Many thanks for your help!
You are very welcome the wheel size on the roller doesn’t matter too much should be in the 280 range. But it only makes a slight difference like 1/10 of a mile an hour . And I think I have those cylinder style on my website if not the square type will do just fine I have them on my website fitnesspartspro.com but if you can’t find it just send me your email on my comment form I will I will find you one
I watched most of your videos and they've all been helpful in my attempts to troubleshoot my Sole treadmill. However, can't pinpoint the issue still. My treadmill speed goes up and down with no one on it and eventually it stops with an LS1 error. I replaced the running belt thinking that was the issue but no luck. Also moved the speed sensor closer to the magnet wheel. Also, I saw from another video to try and connect the black/red cables from the drive motor to a 19v battery to verify it runs...and it does smoothly without slowing or speeding up. Also did recalibration, lubed the new running belt, check the tightness of the belt and all seem fine. Does this issue seem like a controller board problem? Anything else to test/check? TIA
Yes for sure your controller is bad The Ir comp voltage is not smooth to the motor. Some times you can fix this by turning the small blue max voltage controller . It is a small Phillips head adjustment. Located by the motor fault led see troubleshooting sole motor controller
@@FitnessTechnologyServices Wow! First off, thank you for responding very quickly!!!!! I did see that little blue box and turned it counter clockwise and that seemed to have fixed the issue with the speed going up and down. Hello, I have a sole F63 and have been trying to troubleshoot with Sole. Last week the belt stopped moving mid run and I smelled a burning smell. I turned it off and turned it back on and it worked fine. I went to use it again two days later and the belt won't move at all. I tested the motor with a 9 volt and then the belt moves. I did a factory re-set as well and moved the speed sensor closer and the belt still won't turn on. Any ideas?
Well if the belt does not turn at all then your controller is bad. But you also have to check your walk belt send me your serial number to Fitnesspartspro@gmail.com I will send you links for testing

No way the speed sensor only tells the speed the motor will run for about 10 seconds if the sensor was bad !run your motor off a dc battery . If works then controller is bad
Hi there, what is the diagnosis if the sole f63 starts and calibrates ok, and runs for maybe 5 minutes then suddenly stops with a ls1 error? Which faulty part would cause that?

I followed your directions above and the belt stops within 10 seconds of walking on the belt and I receive the LS1 error code. I replaced the speed sensor and the behavior is the same. I also calibrated it as well. However, when only walking on the outer edge of the belt, I do not receive the error and the belt continues to move. Do you think it is the walking belt? The entire family uses the treadmill just about every day so it gets a ton of use. Model is 563812140208918. Appreciate any guidance you can give!

Hi guys. Error 5 also on a sole f85. Was working perfectly. Just stopped wit err5 on the display. Checked all cables. Seated properly. Disconnected a few which cut power to the console etc. I read about speed sensor cud be faulty. Have u seen this before? Motor control board is lighting up fine
I bought a Schwinn 810 treadmill and am getting the E1 error. I don't see the speed sensor. Can you do a video on this? Where is the speed sensor on this type of treadmill. My treadmill is stopping at 8 seconds.
The F /60 is the exact same calibration as the 80 let me know what’s up with your unit most times errors are the controller gone bad the incline almost never fails Dave
@@FitnessTechnologyServices I ran the calibration, keep getting Incline E2. The Incline goes up and down during calibration. Incline worked in the house but when I safely moved it to garage, it stopped working. I even adjust the speed sensor.
Hmm that makes it tough I would look for kink /pinch in wire if the incline goes all the way up and down watch the console see if #’s change in display. It must be loosing incline info feed back from controller ? Also check and see if the 3 pin wire harness for incline is well seated in port
No I would not think it’s the speed sensor normally they act up within 15 Seconds or less . The most likely issue is worn walk belt. I manually turned the belt to see if the Speed Sensor light would blink. The light comes on when I turn the machine on and doesn't blink at all. But then the light stays on even when I disconnect it the speed sensor. Called Sole Service line and they said I'd need to replace the whole Control Board. It's really expensive and currently out of stock. Thoughts?
Michael Etter send me your serial # to fitness fitnesspartspro @ g mail .com and a pic of your controller I may have and I am a litter cheaper some times but also look at my video marked why my motor controller blew to see if you need a walk belt also worn walk belts or under lubed belt are what blows controllers
Michael Etter well yes sounds like controller to also but I would still start with speed switch because you don’t have s flashing lite send me your serial number . To fitnesspartspro @ g mail .com For better tech service and price thanks Dave
I’m getting LS1 error. Treadmill will run without shutting down with no one on it,but soon as you step on it and start walking it will shutdown in three to four minutes. Deck has been lubed.
Installed new board, greased belt , changed rpm sensor and still shuts off after 3min. Rpm light on the board stays solid . Checked magnets and cleaned still shuts off after 3min please help
Run your unit with no one on it see how long it lasts. 90% of failure with some one on it is from worn walking belt causing high amps and over heating unit. I have lots of videos on testing your walk belt on my channel fitness technology services
Or you can send me your serial number to Fitnesspartspro @gmail.com I will send you links
Hi I got a f80 that powers on fine when I start it it runs fine but as soon as I step on it I can tell the Motor slows down and then shuts off and I get the ls1 code I checked the sensor by moving the belt manually and the light does blink I also check the belt that’s still good could it be the motor control board
eddie impala Just a thought have you lubed it lately and try walking on the edges of belt on the sole logo . See if that helps some the belt is normally worn on sides so should work a little better hope this helps
Not worn
Fitness Technology Services will try that out today thanks
Fitness Technology Services hi just tried out what you suggested and it didn’t turn off so should I replace the belt
eddie impala yes for sure . And check for scratches or wear on deck
What about the speed buttons on the handles, how would I troubleshoot that? Quick speed buttons on the dashboard works, but the ones on the handles don’t work.
You will need to remove your handle bar covers and touch the exposed wires that go to console this is the same as when you press button .I will get video on this done for you over weekend. Thanks Dave
Please subscribe ! Much appreciated.
My treadmill starts off at full speed and keeps going. Is this the speed sensor too?
Well most likely not it is in your controller or the magnets in your motor are weak and motor bad send me your model and serial # to fitnesspartspro@mail.com so I can what you have
I am getting the LS1 error, already replaced the speed sensor and send the control module to test/repair and I am still getting the error, what else can be happening?? Thank you for your help
gordo12004 well it would depend on if it happens when you are off unit or only when your are walking on it ! If only when you are on it the walk belt is worn ? See video why my motor controller blew
@@FitnessTechnologyServices it happens after 30 minutes of usage more or less
and the belt feels smooth from the middle, do I need to replace the controller again or just the walking belt?
gordo12004 If happens only after walking then controller should be good send me your serial # to fitnesspartspro @ Gmail .com and I can see which belt you take maybe save you money also feel deck to see if it has grooves thanks Dave
I hesitate investing too much more without knowing that this is the cause. I purchased this used two years ago and has worked well for us up to the last 2 months. The entire family uses the treadmill just about every day so it gets a ton of use. Model is 563812140208918. Appreciate any guidance you can give!
That is a easy one yes it is the belt ..Most anytime it runs without users and only acts up with user it is belt maybe worn deck I have just added a video to my channel that will help you with troubleshooting fitnesstechnologyservices
@@FitnessTechnologyServices Thanks so much for the quick reply! How would I know if the deck is worn?
@@ricknovak7011 Well that is hard loosen walk belt look for hair line cracks see if the color is different from center of deck compared to sides
@@FitnessTechnologyServices I replaced the belt. I tested it and it worked fine. Next day, the motor is barley working and I get the LS1 without even stepping foot on it. I also loosened the tension on the belt. Same result. I then calibrated it and it failed with an LS1 error. Any ideas? Motor controller ?
@@ricknovak7011 Hmm maybe some more test first it is unlikely that the controller is the issue with no weight on it . Check the speed light and pmw light see if they are dropping out at the same time you get
I have a F63 and this is happening.....how do I order parts from you?
Well thank you two ways on line .fitnesspartspro.com or email me at fitnesspartspro @gmail.com Dave
voit white 700 brand treadmill runs for 2 3 seconds and gives ls1 error The sensor light on the card blinks during return, what could be the problem
Is this with or with out some one on it ? you will need to run motor on a battery for 30 seconds and watch if sensor keeps on working it might be dropping out
the sensor is working and when I measured again I realized that the shotky diode connected to the motor output was short circuit. Thank you
hello i changed the part in question but the problem still persists. sensor is intact please help
@@aydnisik8692 Ok what part the controller or the bad spot on the board and if could please e mail me the whole serial # to fitnesspartspro @ gmail .com but to let you know I have never of or know anything on Voit but will try
Hi I've just replaced the speed sensor and it's been fine for the last week but now it come up with an e1 and s1 error after 8 seconds
Barry Rose Ok I have never see those codes come up ? Try running unit with no one on it to see if it load related send me your serial to Fitnesspartspro @g mail .com I will see if I can help
@@FitnessTechnologyServices thanks for your message so today I've just been out switched on treadmill and now its working fine again the serial number is ac230 solef63 2013 model
Barry Rose ok good but the serial # is 16 numbers on hood by power wire
@@FitnessTechnologyServices ok so I know no it's not the sensor I've noticed that the motor get very hot could this cause a error to come up all could it be the control board
Barry Rose ok it could be both if you are the original owner the motor could be under warranty I would start with that ! Run unit with no one on it and check the motor then see if it gets hot !
Have you ever seen the error code e5? Just got our treadmill and it won't do anything. Will call but they aren't open on the weekend :(
Hmm e5 on new machine I would recheck all connections make sure all are well seated into each other .its a communications error most likely
Morgan N. I am sorry I don’t know this unit by heart send me a pic of under hood and the serial # we will find out .fitnesspartspro@gmail.com
Oh wow! Thanks! Please lookout for it in a few minutes.
@@FitnessTechnologyServices Looking forward to hearing back!
Morgan N. I am sorry I haven’t see your pic on my e mail please resend to fitnesspartspro @ Gmail .com
Fitness Technology Services thanks! I was actually able to figure it out. I needed to move the speed sensor closer to the magnet on the belt!
Can you do a video for a Sole F60 Incline WE error?
Great information and super cute assistant.
Brenda HUSSEY-GARDNER Well I will have to tell her that and thanks
I have older (10 yrs??) F80 that is showing low speed. It will run up to 40 minutes and then just stop. A lot of fun when on it!!!! Lol. Speed sensor?
No I would not think it’s the speed sensor normally they act up within 15 Seconds or less . The most likely issue is worn walk belt. Try running it with no one on it this will test the speed sensor. After a couple of years they need a new walk belt they wear out like car tires check your deck for worn spots or light cracks also. You can see tests for this on my full channel fitness technology services
