I always appreciate that you explain your concept/plan and then you let us be students and watch as you work the plan. You are a very good teacher! Thanks for sharing👍
Nicely done Emily! Welcome back to the craziness of the big 🍎. Such a great and pro team working together Brandi, Riley, Arivetere & yourself. Love the story telling tip and the use of the fabric technique. Keep up the great work!!!🤟🏽
I am so excited to start working with gels. I used to work at PictureMe and we weren't allowed to move any of the lighting or play around with any of the original set up and now that I am on my own I have gone Hog Wild.
Helpful video! One question, in a walking shot, which model do u focus on -- the one that is closer to u or the one that is farther and closer to the wall?
My question is, what manual select should I use when shooting two models? 1 Pt AF, zone AF, large zone AF etc. I have a shoot with two models this weekend and I want go unconfident that I'm going to get them both in focus!
At the beginning of the video I would have also switched shooting positions as to have the graffiti painted wall in the background to switch things up :-) The strobe you were using didn't have HSS? Nice shots.
How is that their photos have more contrast and less brightness while the actual video looks flawless? Is there any filters applied? The mesh has little tiny mesh circles right? How is that not impacting the photo?
Hi Sam- that’s because of different settings my videographer and I are using + I’ve also applied some contrast and highlight reduction when importing to Capture One. The mesh does have tiny holes in it, but when the fabric is so close to the lens, you won’t see these holes.
Loved filming this one. Hope you all enjoy! ❤
Was super glad to come across this tutorial!
Watching Emily work is beyond inspiring. What an incredible human, artist and teacher 🖤
🥺💖

Also kudos to the unnamed videographer who added motions into every shot, and gave the models slow motion.
Light is everything.. almost.
Kodus to the assistant, this strobe with the modifier gets heavy very quikly :)
She’s amazing 😁

Nice shots.
What is the Focal length of the Lens
35mm!

@@EmilyTeague Thanks for the details. I appreciate it
Can you shoot a model with dark skin next to a model with light skin, without under or over exposing either one?
Could you provide a link or some info on the fabric that you used on the lens? Great video, thanks!!
It’s just tan mesh that I picked up at a fabric store :)
We didn't notice any shots that demonstrated the difference with and without the fabric.
