The thing about latinos identifying as white in a census, is that like I have extremely curly, thick black hair (like bordering on an afro or jew-fro), and an olive/caramel skin tone, and just straight up like people will assume I'm Arabic, Indian, Pakistani, half-black or even Navajo, but I can't really put anything other than white because if I'm mixed then... mixed with what? I don't have a tribal affilation so I'm not indigenous, and I'm not black or asian. So I just sort of put white which I don't really feel attached to because I'm never going to experience white privledge as a Mexican-American who lives on the border. SB-1070 proves that. El Paso proves that. Arpaio proves that. If latino isn't a race, then I don't really have much of a race because I'm just kind of not really anything else.

Learn how to explain your ideals without using their "trigger phrases". A surprising number of conservatives agree with workplace socialism, so long as you don't use the S-word.
Wages in Turkey have increased a lot but that's part of the problem. It's a never-ending cycle. Minimum wage in 2021 was 2800 Liras and now it's 11400 Liras. For reference though, a loaf of bread cost 1.5 liras in 2021 and now it costs 7.5. They have increased the minimum wage twice a year to keep up with inflation. It is part of the reason he stayed popular enough to win again.
Increasing wages do not contribute to infilation ever in any situation. In Turkey, infilation exists simply because of distrust in the Lira and the Central Bank. You are made to believe that infilation is caused "partly because of the wage increases" because the companies selling their products, the landlords renting etc all increase the prices blaming the wage increase. This is one of the main reasons. Second reason is because Erdoğan kept the interest rates low to keep the cogs turning. It is a viscious cycle where the workers pay the price with their buying power diminishing every day to keep the unemployment rates low.
The way I understand it, the government has increased the minimum wage of "public workers (government employees)" way more. Like right now government employees are paid 23000 minimum, and when they can't pay it, they have to sell gold from their reserves, print more money, Lira value goes down. But I'm certainly not a economist and I might be wrong.@@UmmadikTas They have already announced next year government employee salaries at 33K.
In 2022 Turkeys consumer price index (cost of typical goods, therefore inherently PPP adjusted) rose by 70%. Since 2010 it increased to 5x, now thats what I call inflation!
but somewhere else on Earth has worse than that inflation, so according to Hasan, they can't complain, and it's not the same. People's problems are their own problems, you can't compare, it makes no sense, and doesn't help at all.
Fun Fact: For the people who identify themselves as "conservative" like my father who listened to Rush until the day he died, everyone who does not publicly, loudly, and obnoxiously label themselves as "conservative" every single time politics comes up is automatically a "liberal." Moderates, Libertarians, Centerists, etc simply don't exist in their world. You are all "liberals" in their reality. The same people who say, "you can't see into someone's head" when it comes to someone saying something that could be considered racist can somehow read everyone's mind when it comes to political ideology.

Lots of people ideas have changed about the government and the gov lost a lot of its supporters. about sanctions: people do not like sanctions but they dont see it as the main problem. the see khamenei and its regime the real problem. also i dont link how media around the world say "president" Raisi or because there is no president. the whole government is run by a group of people that will do anything to stay in power and the whole president thing is a lie alongside the parties that operate in here. they do not change anything its just a show. my personal idea was that sanctions are like chemotherapy. A government that does not hesitate to shoot at the most peaceful protesters will not go away easy and also it will not change at all because if they change they will lose their loyal supporters. if its was a more moderate government then the sanctions wouldn't have made sense but that is not the case. but i guess its just one side of the argument. Im open to hear your opinion :)

It’s sad that senseless violence happened but I’m not sad that it was a retired police chief since they literally kill people on the daily for no reason or a drop of remorse
are they the same cops? or are we just being stupid by claiming that as this institution is bad so any thing harmful done to the indiviual is justified. It's not. harming a Retired cop is not going to do any actual good, you do it to satisfy your own sick desire of justice. this has the same energy as that one tankie saying he is okay with "rap*ing women cop and doesn't care what happens to them".
by this logic you can justify anything "i remember that one poor guy who murdered children so fuck this completely different poor guy" try to think critically.....
@@riynu7774ACAB 😘 every single one of them.
@@riynu7774 "just being stupid"? I think we can agree that the institution is so bad. If black people who get regularly murdered by police would defend themselves i wouldn't think thats being stupid.
I think you can only have the privilege of your opinion if the institution isnt actively exerting violence on you, which is probably the case here.
I am not saying killing the cop was justified. I'm merely saying if you as a institution you present, which he did as a chief, exert violence on the region you are policing you shouldnt be surprised when someone at some point exerts violence on the police.
@@riynu7774 shut up
I idc that he was police, I care that a couple of 17yo’s are unhinged enough to kill a random person out of the blue. That’s so scary

In the UK any profile picture on social media relating to football, a coat of arms, royal person (except Harry and Meghan) or Margaret Thatcher is a guarantee that someone is a Conservative and/or racist.

I wish hasan would talk more about the worldwide inflation taking place rn, and comparing it to the US, like he did with turkey here. I feel like a lot of his audience is american and gaining that knowledge would be good to explore!

If it makes you feel better race isn’t real but your cultural traditions are real and you will always have those when you hang out with family
I watched that hit and run segment on Fox News live with my very conservative dad. surprisingly he even understood why I was so upset by the rhetoric they were pushing.

Republicans can’t even pretend to hide their open contempt for us. It blows my mind that they think we’re ever going to vote for them in real numbers.
Among black people, Trump voters are generally considered weirdos.

The "quiet code" is literally Tumblr users saying "I like your shoelaces" as code in the early 2010s. Conservatives are becoming Tumblr libs.
Tumblr's code is still quieter than a dogwhistle lol
The legendary Lyle Rath in a Hasan video?! Wow! 0:29

I lived in Turkiye for around a year and it almost drove me crazy. The only thing I did was work. No free, personal, me time. The country is beautiful and has amazing food as well as amazing people. It hurt me to leave, but it would hurt even more to stay. I worked my ass off and still didn't manage to save money. :/

the fact that the drivers did not know the guy was a retired police chief, IMO speaks volumes to the chaos that is karma
Erm ok
Nah, capitalists are greedy. That's the problem here and it's the problem there.

Doesn’t the term “quite code” lean into the fact that it’s supposed to be quiet?
In 2022 Turkeys consumer price index (cost of typical goods, therefore inherently PPP adjusted) rose by 70%.
Since 2010 it increased to 5x, now thats what I call inflation!
but somewhere else on Earth has worse than that inflation, so according to Hasan, they can't complain, and it's not the same. People's problems are their own problems, you can't compare, it makes no sense, and doesn't help at all.

Fun Fact:
For the people who identify themselves as "conservative" like my father who listened to Rush until the day he died, everyone who does not publicly, loudly, and obnoxiously label themselves as "conservative" every single time politics comes up is automatically a "liberal."
Moderates, Libertarians, Centerists, etc simply don't exist in their world. You are all "liberals" in their reality. The same people who say, "you can't see into someone's head" when it comes to someone saying something that could be considered racist can somehow read everyone's mind when it comes to political ideology.

Hi
I'm from Iran and i want to have a few words.
qassem soleimani was popular between supporters of the government but not popular between "actual" iranians.
things changed a lot in the last 4 years. Lots of people ideas have changed about the government and the gov lost a lot of its supporters.
about sanctions: people do not like sanctions but they dont see it as the main problem. the see khamenei and its regime the real problem.
also i dont link how media around the world say "president" Raisi or because there is no president. the whole government is run by
a group of people that will do anything to stay in power and the whole president thing is a lie alongside the parties that operate in here. they do not change anything its just a show.
my personal idea was that sanctions are like chemotherapy.

I am glad that hasan is defending hasan. Embellishment in comedy is a pretty common practice and hasan's definitely happens. Also the majority (not all but most) of the stories against hasan are by right wing Indian publications because most Indians who support modi absolutely hate hasan.
I certainly see their point but Hasan is clearly trying to make a point about society and culture. I don't really care if you also want to be funny and entertaining, inserting lies into these kinds of topics, no matter how benign they come across, undercuts the message. If they were telling an inconsequential story and embellished it then sure but this is a hot topic political issue with plenty of people who's paycheck comes from purposely painting political messages in a bad light. Why make their job easier?
It's true that "happened to me" is a more engaging hook but when it comes out that its not based on reality the hook no longer works. You don't need to lie to make a correct point.
The thing is he embellished or made stuff up while putting pictures on a PowerPoint to make it seem like everything he was talking about was 100% real, affecting real people and not taking accountability when those people were harassed and doxxed due to his lies.
When Chapelle says he saw a baby selling crack in DC, we know it's a joke, but when he claims a white woman dumped him on the day of their prom and puts a picture of her up on the screen, we take that as completely true because of the photographic "evidence"
