This may be just me, but i feel like the nearly non-existent or lack of new ost music was completely killing any hype during certain moments. Gagamaru's save I didn't even see his hand touch the ball for the save, and Sendou's shot was extremely weak. Nagi's goal was solid but I think they've set the bar so low that we'd get hyped by anything with the bare minimum input.
First 10 mins were horrible but I really enjoyed the last 10 since it actually felt like a season 1 blue lock ep. They really ruined saes entrance as insane egoist.
Also honestly another thing that is starting to concern me as much as the animation in s2 is the complete lack of creative vision as an adaptation. It feels like they are just coloring manga panels and adding visual effects 1:1 instead of actually ADAPTING the manga to capture the spirit and feel of the manga in an animated format.

BRO ISTG I HAD THE EXACT SAME THOUGHT WHEN WACHING THE EPISODE REGARDING THE MUSIC. LIKE THE WHOLE SECTION WITH SAE, FROM THE POINT WHERE HE FIRST GETS THE BALL TO THE POINT WHERE HE SCORES HAS THE MOST BORING MAIN MENU OST I VE HEARD. And it s so annoying since one of the main things I really liked about the anime was the really intense and fitting OST WHICH SEEMS TO HAVE DISSAPEARED, LIKE IT TOOK AWAY ALL THE IMPACT THAT PLAY HAD WITH THAT YEE YEE JAZZ LOADING SCREEN ASS MUSIC IN THE BACKGROUND. This ep made me realize how much I love the osts for this anime. I feel the overwhelming power of sae was killed cuz they decided groovy music was the move. They killed the mysterious spark I had for him but I feel like nagis goal made me change my mind.
I was one of the “Wait for the u-20 match” people let me say something. This episode was enough for me to say hell no. How they messed itoshi Sae that bad????? In the scene where you can Sae running behind his back, the CGI models are “moving” but they are literally standing there ONE PLACE. They literally put no effort on his goal too; I hated how they butchered him. The only good thing about this episode was literally Nagi goal. That’s the only good animation we have for this episode. When this season is over, we need to put a petition to demand a remake because this is questionable. Especially for the employees had to go through hard work with that terrible scheduling and management.

i feel like the start of s2 has just set a perception in all our minds that there's no defending all these eps, one of the greatest sports arc deserve the best animation true but if u really sit in on every new ep hoping the animation is better ull never be satisfied. just try to enjoy the episode. this ep was one of my favs tbh if u look at all of it minutely then there are cgi scenes and a whole lotta pngs on this one too but im so glad it had many actually animated scenes. if ur hoping itll be any better from this then just read the manga and hope they dont fuck up s3, other than that this ep really wasnt that bad, the imp parts like nagi's goal got the adaptation it deserved

Okay, I'm just going to give my whole rant on this. THE U-20 GAME IS WORSE THAN THE 3RD SELECTION. I feel like two important and underrecognized aspects in what makes a world-build so enthralling or underwhelming is the architecture and POV of a scene or in this case a game. It's kind of sad because I feel like this is one thing that they nailed in Episode 6 up until they stepped foot onto the Pitch. At that moment is where I feel like the manga deviates into an enthralling sequence of beautiful events throughout the whole game to the underwhelming and even anger inspiring bore the anime has become outside of the key moments. Which personally due to the soundtrack and lack of animation on top of those things in episode 6, felt uninspiring but not horrible because I still felt like the soundtrack saved the initial start of the match. Episode 7 was absolutely horrible up until Rin's shot on goal through-out Nagi's goal. In the manga the field is structured similar to an extremely large HS basketball stadium around an indoor field with the players emerging through a dugout directly surrounded by the overwhelmingly bright and loud fans. The direct architecture of the stadium made it so that the whole match felt in direct contrast to the close, compact and bright crowd vs the anime's seemingly distant view in comparison as it has more of an NFL inspired stadium/field layout. It almost feels so distant in comparison that the game itself just feels like another match in a blue box like the previous selections. It's both funny and sad because I vividly recall one panel from the anime during Episode 6 at 18:48 when it pans to Bachira's face with the crowd in a similar bright contrast to what felt so magical in the manga. One final note, I feel like we've all already seen the best moments of this arc already just through watching the Opening Them sequence where they spoil pretty much everything themselves... Meaning that all those specific scenes from later episodes are pretty much already finished from what we've seen of the goals and attempts so far in the trailer and opening theme, except for the direct buildup but due to lack of animation and now how poor the soundtrack has been in the most recent episode; THERE IS NO BUILD-UP to the goals! P.s. I played football all my life, which might also be why I have such a direct engagement impact from something like a field and crowd setting because I've experienced the real life differences myself to a greatly lower capacity which the manga directly tapped into and almost feed off of those early childhood to even late high-school aspirations and dreams whereas the animation failed horribly in comparison...

Animation is getting better by the episode. Goals are animated beautifully. Cardboards cut outs are still here 💀 tbh this episode had the BEST animation consistencies of all of season 2, even Akku patting sendou’s shoulder is animated like it’s getting better but undeniably still a 7.5/10 max.
lets hope for season 3 that 8 bit wont schedule like 10 anime while making blue lock and give a have peak animation or give to a better studio because the NEL is my favourite arc

If you count it relative to what season 2 has been it’s probably an 8/10. But if you compare it to the quality of adaptation and animation Blue Lock deserves it’s a 5/10 being generous. The truth is painful but I think we all love blue lock here we just know u-20 should be adapted better.

one reason why the animation is so bad is because of the time restrictions to create each episode. the animators are trying their best but if they dont have enough time to animate, it’ll end up being like reading a manga. one animator even said that they had to scrap some actual animation where players were moving to meet their time contraint
You should do what im doing where i watch it with a friend that's anime only, then you get a better perspective to how the story flows even without animation. From my friends, its pretty obviously still good but can definitely be clowned on even by anime onlys

This may be just me, but i feel like the nearly non-existent or lack of new ost music was completely killing any hype during certain moments. Gagamaru's save I didn't even see his hand touch the ball for the save, and Sendou's shot was extremely weak. Nagi's goal was solid but I think they've set the bar so low that we'd get hyped by anything with the bare minimum input.
First 10 mins were horrible but I really enjoyed the last 10 since it actually felt like a season 1 blue lock ep. They really ruined saes entrance as insane egoist.

Also honestly another thing that is starting to concern me as much as the animation in s2 is the complete lack of creative vision as an adaptation. It feels like they are just coloring manga panels and adding visual effects 1:1 instead of actually ADAPTING the manga to capture the spirit and feel of the manga in an animated format.

BRO ISTG I HAD THE EXACT SAME THOUGHT WHEN WACHING THE EPISODE REGARDING THE MUSIC. LIKE THE WHOLE SECTION WITH SAE, FROM THE POINT WHERE HE FIRST GETS THE BALL TO THE POINT WHERE HE SCORES HAS THE MOST BORING MAIN MENU OST I VE HEARD.
And it s so annoying since one of the main things I really liked about the anime was the really intense and fitting OST WHICH SEEMS TO HAVE DISSAPEARED, LIKE IT TOOK AWAY ALL THE IMPACT THAT PLAY HAD WITH THAT YEE YEE JAZZ LOADING SCREEN ASS MUSIC IN THE BACKGROUND. SAE IS LITERALLY THE BIGGEST THREAT ON THE ENEMY TEAM AND THERE S A GUY WHISTLING IN THE BACK WHILE HE SUPPOSED TO LOOK COOL AND GET ME HYPED WITH HIS PLAY.

In the scene where you can Sae running behind his back, the CGI models are “moving” but they are literally standing there ONE PLACE. They literally put no effort on his goal too; I hated how they butchered him. The only good thing about this episode was literally Nagi goal. That’s the only good animation we have for this episode.
When this season is over, we need to put a petition to demand a remake because this is questionable. Especially for the employees had to go through hard work with that terrible scheduling and management.

i feel like the start of s2 has just set a perception in all our minds that there's no defending all these eps, one of the greatest sports arc deserve the best animation true but if u really sit in on every new ep hoping the animation is better ull never be satisfied. just try to enjoy the episode. this ep was one of my favs tbh if u look at all of it minutely then there are cgi scenes and a whole lotta pngs on this one too but im so glad it had many actually animated scenes. if ur hoping itll be any better from this then just read the manga and hope they dont fuck up s3, other than that this ep really wasnt that bad, the imp parts like nagi's goal got the adaptation it deserved

Okay, I'm just going to give my whole rant on this.
THE U-20 GAME IS WORSE THAN THE 3RD SELECTION. I feel like two important and underrecognized aspects in what makes a world-build so enthralling or underwhelming is the architecture and POV of a scene or in this case a game. It's kind of sad because I feel like this is one thing that they nailed in Episode 6 up until they stepped foot onto the Pitch. At that moment is where I feel like the manga deviates into an enthralling sequence of beautiful events throughout the whole game to the underwhelming and even anger inspiring bore the anime has become outside of the key moments. Which personally due to the soundtrack and lack of animation on top of those things in episode 6, felt uninspiring but not horrible because I still felt like the soundtrack saved the initial start of the match. Episode 7 was absolutely horrible up until Rin's shot on goal through-out Nagi's goal. In the manga the field is structured similar to an extremely large HS basketball stadium around an indoor field with the players emerging through a dugout directly surrounded by the overwhelmingly bright and loud fans. The direct architecture of the stadium made it so that the whole match felt in direct contrast to the close, compact and bright crowd vs the anime's seemingly distant view in comparison as it has more of an NFL inspired stadium/field layout. It almost feels so distant in comparison that the game itself just feels like another match in a blue box like the previous selections. It's both funny and sad because I vividly recall one panel from the anime during Episode 6 at 18:48 when it pans to Bachira's face with the crowd in a similar bright contrast to what felt so magical in the manga. One final note, I feel like we've all already seen the best moments of this arc already just through watching the Opening Them sequence where they spoil pretty much everything themselves... Meaning that all those specific scenes from later episodes are pretty much already finished from what we've seen of the goals and attempts so far in the trailer and opening theme, except for the direct buildup but due to lack of animation and now how poor the soundtrack has been in the most recent episode; THERE IS NO BUILD-UP to the goals!
P.s. I played football all my life, which might also be why I have such a direct engagement impact from something like a field and crowd setting because I've experienced the real life differences myself to a greatly lower capacity which the manga directly tapped into and almost feed off of those early childhood to even late high-school aspirations and dreams whereas the animation failed horribly in comparison...
I am done with this anime. Gonna go back and reread the manga.

Animation is getting better by the episode. Goals are animated beautifully. Cardboards cut outs are still here 💀 tbh this episode had the BEST animation consistencies of all of season 2, even Akku patting sendou’s shoulder is animated like it’s getting better but undeniably still a 7.5/10 max.

true, the only thing I dont liked much was the CGI, and the music could be more dramatic or more intense than what was, but I liked the animation, have a lot of really ''Animation'' Scenes, like Rin and Isagi running around, Chigiri really Running, And the Nagi Scene was the best part it gived me Vibes of season 1, team Z against team V.
I liked it as well, for me it was 8 maybe 9 out of 10. All those who say that this Episode had no Animation or say its bad are just haters im sorry. This Episode looks better than every other ep of S2 so you should appreciate that.

Imo 3/10. Episode 6 was a 7/10 just because of the pre-game sequence and because they didn't absolutely butcher the soundtrack. They just made the best arc from the manga into the worst arc in the anime. (Imo worse then 3rd selection)

If you count it relative to what season 2 has been it’s probably an 8/10. But if you compare it to the quality of adaptation and animation Blue Lock deserves it’s a 5/10 being generous. The truth is painful but I think we all love blue lock here we just know u-20 should be adapted better.

one reason why the animation is so bad is because of the time restrictions to create each episode. the animators are trying their best but if they dont have enough time to animate, it’ll end up being like reading a manga. one animator even said that they had to scrap some actual animation where players were moving to meet their time contraint

You should do what im doing where i watch it with a friend that's anime only, then you get a better perspective to how the story flows even without animation. From my friends, its pretty obviously still good but can definitely be clowned on even by anime onlys
For an Anime only, it's only good because of the story. I've switched to the manga today and I think it's a better experience than watching the anime. This means the animation is terrible because I don't even like reading Mangas.

Just watched the new episode,the only thing I liked was nagi’s goal ,it was ok but definitely no where near the manga.Gagamaru looked so off.Sae’s scenes were so bad and the lofi music 😭
