Don't forget your diseases are applied based on your current stats - worth saving your outbreak to snapshot diseases when you have procs like rune of fallen crusader etc. You can refresh these at that level with festering strike.
@@BREAKoceanevery time you cast outbreak, icy touch or plague strike, it snapshots your current stats for the DoTs damage, festering strike just increases the duration, so you want the most procs and stat enhancements to apply your strongest dots on the target then just keep them rolling with festering and try not to let them fall off
uf does stack with blood lust, you still dont want to use them both at the same time because youll be unable to keep up with the rune regen. but they do stack Tailoring is a noob trap. your pet dont scale with ap. they scale with str specifically
such a clean and well explained rotation guide, been looking for awhile and no one really hovered over the abilities to tell you what they do, thank you so much very well done!
You should ALWAYS open with Icy Touch and Plague strike to apply diseases! This gets your death runes rolling right away, starts to build up Runic power, and activates procs that you can then use to snapshot outbreak. Using outbreak at the start may feel convenient but you will severely handicap your damage. dots are snapshotted to your current stats - so once you have all your procs, outbreak and then keep that up with festering strike. You will want to use IT, PS, then FS on pull so all of your death runes are ready for your burst.
Is unholy in cata still very like wrath with snapshottting gargoyle and buffs and dots? Been playing blood swapped to unholy dps was shite then switch to frost and doing around 18k 20k with okay gear, or is it just unholy is that little bit more complicated?
@@veddyveng It’s “similar” but there’s a lot less emphasis on your gargoyle being your main source of damage. A lot of people make the mistake of using Unholy Frenzy to pair with gargoyle but it doesn’t change the snapshotted damage. It’s best to use UF right when you have 5 stacks for dark transformation. Your ghoul is your main source of damage in cata and his power scales with your strength in real-time. There’s an add on that tracks the dps of your dots and how much you gain/lose by reapplying. This will help you from refreshing them at the wrong times and pinpoint the peak they can reach. I’ve done some testing with different play-styles and while the main strategy is using as many scourge strikes as possible (while keeping strong dots up), there’s positives and negatives to reapplying dots more frequently to get a stronger snapshot. Ultimately you want to keep your initial snapshot dots up the whole fight but that’s not always possible and you’ll have to refresh them at base-damage. You also shouldn’t continuously use death runes for festering strikes just to maintain strong dots. There’s some give and take. Mainly you’ll want to try and keep your snapshot rolling until the next trinket proc cycle and use death runes solely for scourge strike while using DT as often as possible. You can also use the dot-snapshot addon to gauge when the best time to use Gary would be since it benefits from the same stats that your dots do. My dots at base level sit around 900dps, and with the most opportune snapshot can reach 2300dps.
@@veddyveng so while you can maintain a ~1400dps gain from keeping your dots up no matter what, you’ll gain more from focusing more on scourge strikes with death runes, and using FS whenever your death runes deplete and go back to frost/blood. Something I tend to do is use Blood tap right after using IT, D&D, PS and FS. This will give you another immediate FS and will make all runes death runes. This is also around the time that you’ll be able to use a couple of death coils, and most procs will be up and ready for your Gary and outbreak snapshot (around ~10 seconds into the fight). After that the goal is to get your DT and UF up and running as soon as possible. Sometimes the timing is just right that you can use all of those abilities at the exact same time if your big procs take a few seconds extra to go up. Another way to maintain good dots if they are falling low is to use empowered rune weapon after using up your death runes to give you 2 free FS and turn them back to death runes.

This is big. Will it overwrite existing diseases?

The absolute best guide - thank you for the explanations. Love the class but always felt I was missing something. Thank you!

Right I was going to say bs is prob better for the extra strength sockets
@@Monclersheisty2000late but bs pulls far ahead of JC in DS so worth going now

I’m playing a Blood Elf dk for cata
Why blood elf, orc its better
@@maldiakbar8451 Because my dude’s name is vampire themed and wanted to look like a vampire from V Rising
how bout worgen DK ?
Play what you want brother. Human is best for PvP though.
Yeah indeed. Worgen is realllly good in cata due to the 1% crit - but overall races only matter that much for Min-maxing, or PvP.
Worgens movement can be helpful in pve for mechanics also. Not something to be discounted
Worgen are the actual best raid race. The crit + movement boost
You want to use UF with DT, not gargoyle
Bro you sound like a young attenborough
omg your right
