My A1 was in the mail when this video dropped. After a few days of playing with it, it's exactly like Ross says. A simple to set up, easy to use, hassle free first FDM printer. I would also like to point out how almost every option in the slicer, when clicked on, opens the wiki to explain what that option does. Extremely helpful feature for an FDM noob.

Hi Ross, I do resin printing, printing jewellery and I’ve never been interested in 3D printing fdm until ive seen your recent RUclips videos on these fdm printers. Watching this and seeing what your printing (obviously not jewellery) has opened my eyes a little to what interesting things that can be printed on this machine. Them prints and huge models you and your kids have made look absolutely amazing. So I’ve been thinking of getting one to have as a side hobby, something in between jewellery manufacturing. You make it look so simple and yet you probably can do it with your eyes closed.
Take care and thank you for the videos on here.

After watching your video on the AnkerMake M5C, I purchased one. It made it 6 days before it quite printing with Print Transmission errors. But in those 5 days that it did work, showed me why I should have bought this printer in the first place. When I saw your video today, I returned it to Amazon and will be buying this instead. Not here to blame you for what happened, but to thank you for putting out all the good info that has helped me get into 3D printing. Now I am getting the right printer... because it just works!

This is exactly why I started following your channel. My interest in printing is what I pull off the bed. That's it. I want to print things and know that they'll come out as intended. Not nurse a machine so that it can occasionally print things well.
I've done a few maintenance cycles on my X1 now. Had to pop the nozzle off a couple of times to get into the extruder. And compared to my old Ender 3 it's so much better. The only real downside I've found is that the chassis is a little in the way with the screwdriver I use because Core XY. So that wouldn't be an issue on the A series either. The ability to buy a reliable, multi-material/colour machine that gets out of my way and just gives me the things I push out of the slicer was what put me onto Bambu's path. And now I'm on it, it's gonna take something even better to make me change course.
I'm curious about resin printing, but the lack of an option that makes the process as user-friendly as Bambu has made FDM is keeping me away at present. Hopefully sometime soon a legend will come along and help me out there too. But until then, I'm just going to enjoy printing stuff and very occasionally running some quick and easy maintenance so I can enjoy the stuff I print. Hardest part these days is deciding what to print next.

Used your affiliate link and bought the printer. Have now had it running for a couple of days and… this thing is excellent! I am a massive fan of a tool that actually does its job!
Build quality is noticeably higher than my creality or Elegoo machines and other than some issues getting it to accept the filament initially, I have had no problems and many successful prints. Even the WiFi connections were problem free and just works, which is almost unheard of for printers 🤣

While I personally prefer 3d printing as a hobby (built a voron, continually upgrading my trusty prusa over the last 5+years, etc). But I also recognoze that isn't for everyone. I even decided to get my family an a1+ams lite for Christmas last year. I don't want to be tech support for them, I want to see what they come up with to print.
I hope the timkerers printers continue to exist and push the boundaries of the technology, but I equally hope that companies like Bambu continue to make the technology accessible to anyone.

Thankyou so much, yes!!! Exactly this!
I also hope tinkerer machines exist.
Just in the same way you can buy kit cars and show cars. Models and action figures
Let’s have a world where people can choose to get the thing they want for their reasons and have that thing being the best fit their needs/wants
I have no objection to Vorons. It’s just not my thing. And that’s ok

Thank you! I can print great prints on my other printers and I have. But each of them required a lot of tuning and fiddling around to get them that way. A friend brought me his first print in Silk PLA no less, and other than a newbie mistake it turned out way better than most prints I did up until I learned way more than I ever wanted to about 3d printers. When I replace my 5 year old printer later this year, it will be with a Bambu. Because if a complete noob can get that good of a first print, then I should be able to as well! And talking about something you like and enjoy using is not shilling! It's sharing your passion!

I've been using the A1 mini for a few months now and just ordered the full size A1 with the ongoing sale. I've said it before: bambu changed the 3d printing landscape and kicked most of the other brands squarely in the cubes, and now they're scrambling to play catch up.
I'm pretty sure a bigger bambu will be their next printer, but what I'm really excited for is a possible gen 2 of the P and X series with the tech that the A series. I swap nozzles a lot between 0.4 and 0.6 hardened for carbon fiber PETG, so that feature alone is what keeps me on the A series. A P series with A tech would be purchased with the quickness.

Bought an A1 mini last week, coming from my last printer, a Folger FT5 that has sat broken for years in need of a 2nd major rebuild (put off indefinitely because it's a massive faff), I'm amazed by how well it works and how simple but well thought out the mechanicals are. Lightyears ahead of my FT5/kit printer days, the nozzle change system is brilliant, and it just prints so well out of the box with zero manual calibration faff.
Not sure if I'll ever need the 300mm cube build volume of the FT5 again, but if I do I'll be hoping they come out with an A1 Maxi.

Just got an A1 in the current 2 year anniversary sale. It is amazing, more so the ecosystem of handy app/ maker world / bambu studio and the printer all being integrated. I keep on laughing when I print in ludicrous mode, the speed benchy comes out as clean and smooth as the normal one but in 8 mins!! skipped the AMS as im not keen on the wastage. I have prusa, geetech, anycubic, tronxy machines for over 7 years, they all getting listed on ebay to clear room for a fleet of A1's, I can quadrupole my production and profit in my market I sell in, this company have sorted it. Best thing is the profiles work as does the printer without wasting a hundred hours on mods and calibration tweaks to eek out a tiny improvement, every other machine in the sector is effectively obsolete now in the fdm world in the markets that align to A1/ P & X series

I did the bed replacement and it wasn’t as easy as suggested by bambu lab and watched the video very carefully. The hardest part I found was trying to separate the cases, and removing the old cable needed a lot of force.
But the A1 in my opinion is the easiest to maintain compared to my x1c and p1s, with the £114 voucher I bought an A1mini which is a superb second printer and I find that I am using the A1 series printers far more often than my other Bambu printers but I also am using my ender 3 s1 and 5plus as the x1c and p1s are noisy even after the new firmware tuning to quiet steppers.

Nice video thanks. I was in two minds of buying the A1 or the new Anycubic Kobra 3 combo. I liked both of them but I eneded up going for the Anycubic because their Ebay shop was offering it for the small price of £449 and Ebay was giving a 10% on top of that so only paid £404 for it The reason I went for the Anycubic is that included the dryer and the A1 did not and a very similar price, having said that the A1 might just be the next printer I buy cause I do like them.

@@FauxHammer haha yeah normally if something doesn't work right you avoid that product and brand but i figured the issue they had was because this was the almost first step into making bed slingers and it was only a teething problem. also the support they provided was A*. once the email went out telling everyone to stop and choose one of the two option i logged the call, got a response and everything was sorted pretty quickly.
i just thought for what you get and the ease of use bambu labs was just the best choice...
i did considered waiting for the replacement bed but honestly i was too impatient for that and i wanted to try some of the other types of filaments. also thought it would be way easier with something already enclosed and the X1 was just a tad too expensive for me, hence the P1S.

As much as i miss the nicer screen and easy change nozzle, I was having issues with prints warping while it was in my garage and exposed to the elements. Since my P1S came with it's enclosure, I've had no warping issues except when I forget to turn off the aux fan.
Best guess is my issues were environmental and not the printer itself so still happy to suggest it to people.

I have an A1 in part because of you/your reviews. Since it's my first experience with 3d printing, I have nothing else by which to measure. Was it plug and play? Yeah, sorta... used the small section of test PLA that came with the unit and tried to print the bed scraper (wasn't enough to finish the stand and I moved the z-access while installing other filament when it came the next day so it didn't resume correctly) ~ then I got to fight AMS not feeding properly for a day... because apparently it's a bad thing to let the tail end of filament be pulled into the hot-end, it stayed there and caused friction and/or blocked completely the different AMS spools.
As for the support, I ordered a day before the price drop.... Bambu didn't have to do anything, but they offered me (once I initiated contact) $70 in store credit. Took less than 24 hours for that to come through and it was good for a year. I appreciate a business that does that kind of thing.
Now comes the years-long slog of using the printer and finding out what it won't do or doesn't do well, that can be improved upon with another unit... or realize that 3d printing was just another fad (for me) and it never gets used.

At any rate, the A1 standard is definitely on the top of my list for next printer (since I got a KE from that brand you alluded to several times in the video SuperVinlin it's been a pretty good, fairly hands off printer since I got it, but I definitely agree that it took them a bit too long to get there.. Quick printing, smooth everything. Put it together in about 20 min watching a guide just the manual, loaded filament on the ams, told it what color and type it was, pressed print and it just works. It's been printing all day and all night almost every day, pla, petg. Every single time great first layer. No adhesion issues. Only had petg come unstuck once due to finger oils on the print bed, washed it with some dish soap, dried it and haven't touched it since. I don't print multi color really however being able to see something you like on the app and then be able to choose the color and type of filament you want from your phone, completely in a different place from the printer like at the store, being able to get home and see a finished part or trinket is just so amazing.

If you will want to print engineering materials like ABS and Fibre reinforced stuff, X1. if you just wnat to have fun 3D printing. A1.
If you want a bit of both P1S

I just purchased A1 and there is no G-code documentation. I would like to optimise my startup time and a few other aspects of the startup sequence. I'm a hobbist programmer, so i will figure it out, but still, it's a frustration and time to figure it out. But all in all A1 works really well and fast, but the startup sequence is sooooo long! And almost forgot: your videos are great!

      Thanks So much!
I think that may be the drawback of the Bambu Series, it's aimed so much at beginners thatthe more advanced features are less available. It doesn;t sound like it would be much effort for them to do this, but I think they are aiming at a different market
I did real on the X series they now allow custom firmwares, but that snot my bag so i never read into it

    • @dtibor5903
      @dtibor5903 17 дней назад

@@FauxHammer that is not even a feature, it's just some documentation. The responsible of the wiki page should just meet with the engineers for a few hours to explain each non-marlin g-code, give some examples. I don't think it's more than a week of work in total.

Big printer wouldn’t be bad. But i want a filament extruder/recycler. Every other option is a ridiculous b2b price.
Something that just let’s you recycle the poop into another filament roll.
Granted they might be unwilling because recycled filament will have irregular material properties and then it’s harder to guarantee print quality.

He is mentioning the creality K1 (an enclosed printer) and the updated K1C. They updated it because the original K1 had an issue with the glass door being prone to shattering.
