  • 'Are we alone in the universe?' is being looked at by Dr. Jayant Narlikar's team from a scientific point of view. Discussing many points of view from history, this world-renowned scientist Dr. Jayant Narlikar, an astrophysicist well known for the Hoyle-Narlikar theory, the conformal gravity theory, discusses the experiment being carried out to find the extraterrestrial microorganisms. The stratosphere is being studied to look for the presence of any microorganisms, which would possibly be from another part of the universe, hence extraterrestrials. This experiment was set up by TIFR, Hydrabad and the samples collected were analyzed independently by NCCS, Pune and CCMB, Hyderabad. Dr.Jayant Narlikar is a world renowned Astrophysicist alumni of reputed institutes BHU and Cambridge University. He gave theories like Hoyle- Narlikar and Quasi-steady state. He has published numerous research paper and 21 and 5 books in Non Fictional and Fictional Category in English, Marathi and Hindi. He is also honored with Padma Vibhushan Award, Maharashtra Vibhushan, Kalinga Prize by UNESCO etc. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. That's the biggest problem in india. When the youngsters start looking up to scientists the way they look up to actors and players, the society will be next level.
