People say Ween never means their music. I get why this song might sound lighthearted, but if you listen to the lyrics Gener is singing about his marriage breaking down. He's talking about advancing royalty checks to someone who won't look him in the eyes. It's serious. "My little girl is turning 4 months old".
It's unbelievable how many great songs they didn't put on an official album. At least they put this out as a B-side! One of their best and probably my favorite from the WP sessions. By the way, destr100, the uploader, made my day with Kim Smoltz. Seems there's always another gem waiting to be found... one of the joys of this band, although I'd just as soon see 10 more Shinola's.
Who dat? Tellin' me those lies Brother, both my eyes ain't closed yet Got a nice disguise But I know you're really all wet I'm a tool to this Nothing you can do will make me fall Got a date to keep You missed the seat and pissed on the wall What dat? Crawlin' through the phone Beggin' me to perform my very best Call the publisher Ask him to advance my next check I'm a tool to this Certainly I'm not used to this I'm getting fat and I'm getting old My little girl is turning four months old Who you? Spooky eyes that turn Look down at the ground when I try to talk Maybe I should try Maybe I should take another walk I'm a tool to this Maybe you'd like to see me fall down Might trip and lose my step But I can swim and you won't see me drown
god i love this band; i feel sorry for people who can't enjoy them. i have friends who like all different types of music, from the heaviest of death metal to the hippiest of the jam. you introduce them to the right ween song and every time after that if you play ween they'll always bring a smile to their faces.
@LessHer0in Wouldn't the world be a better place with more Ween fans? As commenters we're here b/c we love Ween and we're not looking for affirmation on being the hippest fans but it would be nice if more people could enjoy amazing music like this. Unfortunately it's a pipe dream and the majority of people have such horrible taste. I don't say that with smugness, but with disappointment.

I can hear the McCartney influence here and am just loving it.
i fucking love this song! i'm convinced that Ween are the true "Wyld Stallions" and bill and ted's excellent adventure is actually about ween.
You still alive? Do you remember this song? Do you still listen to it?
What the hell style of music is this?! It's WEEN.

The first verse he's says 'I'm attuned to this'. In the second it's 'I'm not used to this'. I think.
Who you? Spooky eyes that turn, look down at the ground when I try to talk
i love ween. why dont more people love ween?
if you know, you know.
My father told me this. Ween is a good band that pisses off people that don’t like music.
Cool tune. Really like how each phrase ends - very nice. Aarron makes his voice sound just like Paul Simon - which is the vibe the song has anyway.
Great song boognish for life
I do! their music makes me happy so naturally I want everyone to have the same response to their music!
Just love for this dude!!!
Underrated.
ween at their best

ALL HAIL THE MIGHTY BOOGNISH!!
in general, i dont care who likes what. but people that dont get ween make me sad. boognish loves all of gods creatures.
couldn't agree more
Boognish = God = Satan (i.e The Oneness)
Ween is love
Los Lobos meet the Beatles
Top ten favorite songs it’s just wonderful i don’t care if the lyrics mean something it’s just the best
Such a brown b-side
A great tune, but the volume sounds clipped.
@mobilisq sure i do, i sing ween everyday nearly
the rising boognish
dash of the Clash

Anyone else get N64 Mario Party music vibes from this? lol

@Anahclaire I do ;)
Because they're missing out
Seriously!
after all these listens, I'm starting to catch a Who/Rafferty vibe as well🐶.....der..
byoot
I guess you won't be pissing on the wall anymore, huh?
@broadcastmyass4u wouldnt you?
@Anahclaire Who cares how many people like Ween.
@Anahclaire Because a majority of people do not believe that humor should be in music. And also because most people suck.
I need more thumbs to get this more likess.
