oh noooo I'm so sad for your cozy classic light, because it's truly so gorgeous. The neckband mods you did were so pretty, I'm in pain for you T.T

You can try to wear a little silk scarf on the neck and hide it a bit under the collar (for your white sweater)

I feel your pain with the scratchy yarn. 2023 was a scratchy year for me too!!! I have decided to give up on mohair which is very sad with all the lovely patterns out there. For one sweater I substituted a thread of alpaca for the mohair but it also itched my neck. One success though was the Louvre sweater by Petiteknit. I used KFO merino and KFO Pure Silk together and it worked for my neck. Not a cheap knit though. Another success was the Cumulus Tee knitted in Isager Trio 2. A lovely, drapey tee that washes well in the machine on a delicate cycle. Not a great range of colours. I knit a second Cumulus in KFO Pure Silk. Also a success and I machine wash. I knit a Tolsta tee in Krea Deluxe cotton. A lovely drape and feel but takes forever to dry even after being washed and spun in the machine. Not ideal for a summer garment that needs lots of washing.
Just some ideas. Not easy for you on a student’s budget. I enjoy your podcasts and your honesty.
Best of luck in your exams. Stay positive and happy knitting in 2024.

I am sensitive to mohair too 😢 but also mohair from drops is propably the most scratchiest on earth 😋 In my local yarn store I tried ITO and Isager mohair on my neck and they didn't feel scratchy so maybe we should try them 😃 for now I bought suri alpaca to replace the mohair in my Arctic Light Sweater and girlll it is sooo sooooft I really recommend it for you to try 😊

Uhhhh that combo for the arctic light sounds so lovely!😍 I heard about those mohairs, and I think are very expensive. It is probably worth it but I'd like to feel them before havening to commit to such a big purchase. Unfortunately no yarn store in rome stocks either of those (*cries inside)
Thank you so much for the suggestions tho that is very helpful 🥰❤️

@@knittingflem it's a shame that they are that expensive :( I often order some yarn and then have to sell it, because of the scratchiness :( maybe ordering just one skein of mohair for try is a good solution, but anyway we will propably struggle all our live with this mohair thing 🤣
