Honestly, James McCarthy, Ishmael Soro. Benji Siegriest is far better than Joe Hart but not given the opportunities to prove himself. They need to bring players through from the B team as Roco Vata is a far better winger than Yang imo.
Not fair on Mccarthy he was never given a look in ,Hart was a fans favourite 1st season, agree with Vata though . Where are the academy players coming through ?
@@patsanters2741 booting him out would mean paying up his 15k per week wages until 2025 ! Agree about BR though ,lack of ambition from the board bringing him back .
I remember that before David Weir signed for rangers he was rumored to be going to Celtic and the joke was Celtics back three would have been, Weir, Tebily, Scheidt. 😂 Also nobody called him Raphael.
Weirdly enough, I actually went to one of Rafael Scheidt's 3 games, at Hearts - and I actually thought he played quite well! Willo Flood was such a weird signing. As you say in the video - a bog-standard SPL player who never set the ground alight anywhere he played. Not even the best player during his times at Dundee United or Aberdeen. Baffling how he made a career in football. Also I always thought he looked like he had a critical illness. I would also have included Rab Douglas (let us down time after time in the big games - 3-3 with Rangers at Celtic Park sticks in the mind, and above all Seville), Mo Sylla (just awful), Eyal Berkovic (high transfer fee + lazy, arrogant, appalling attitude = pure fanny), Amido Balde, Dirk Boerrigter, Daryl Murphy, Henri Camara (total roaster in his golden boots) and the absolute worst of the 21st century so far - Mo Bangura. What a balloon. Going back further into the dark days of the early '90s - Wayne Biggins, Tony Cascarino, Stuart Slater, Gary Gillespie.
@@mrfreeland123Good shout. He basically came up with the attitude "wouldn't it be fun to have a bit of a laff and joke in old jockoland to finish my career? Nice little earner before I put my feet up". Spent the whole time treating it as a jolly, whilst running around the pitch telling opposition players how much money he had. Odious attitude and a total waste of space.
@@mrfreeland123 very true. In that category you could also add Berkovic (also had a terrible attitude), Juninho, Robbie Keane, Roy Keane, Harald Brattbakk (excellent record in Norway and proven Champions League goalscorer) and Stuart Slater (genuinely seen as a hot prospect and future England international at West Ham before he joined Celtic).
Actually forgot about sick note Boerrigter. He did get a chance to redeem himself in a game, and he dived to win a penalty, and the manager (forgot who at the time) just decided that was enough. Remember Scepovic?
Barkas is harsh - had a decent game away vs St Johnstone in Ange's first year to help win the game at a crucial time - 25 appearances with a league title win & Scottish cup win can't be the worst (it's a team game), albeit for the price tag he grossly underperformed. I'd have dozens of others, in particular Kenny Judas Miller, Marvin Comper, & Adam Virgo, in there well before Barkas.
I don't think ajeti shud b on this.... the covid season was an utter shambles and when ange came in he got injured right at the start before kyogo came in.. mccarthy shud b in here... berkovic... david fernandez.... Juarez... Duffy... ljunberg... to name a few
With inflation that 5 million we spent on Raphael is probably the biggest outlay ever as 5 mil then is over 10 mil now. Plus use football inflation well that could be anything from 30 to 60 mil. Huge loss to the club and is my No1 failure.
Barkas isn't Dutch. He was utter crap. I often thought this guy was actually intentionally not trying, so he could get a move. He clearly was never happy at Celtic. I think it's between him and Ajeti for worst Celtic signing ever. Even more than Scheidt.

Barkas is a Greek international but you called him Dutch
Eyal Berkovic deserves an honourable mention - undoubtedly talented but a terrible attitude
Berkovic was a good player and played some decent games for us but his attitude was terrible.
Raphael Shite...what could possibly go wrong with a name like that?🤣🤣
