  • Live Bee Removal of a TWO year old AFRICANIZED hive! The comb was 6 feet in length and the bees were VERY aggressive. Get a glimpse of how we saved these bees by hand (and without vacuums) for relocation in an art studio in Encinitas, California.

    I've been following you for a while on Instagram. Very glad to see you posting on RUclips! Here is my grading of this video: Choice of cardboard box as key rescue tool = A+. Mellow attitude as you get into the cut, and as robbers begin to frenzy = A+. Donating bees to a beekeeper = A+. Showing your challenges finding and keeping the queens = A+. Dealing with nasty bee attitude early = A+. Choosing not to use the vacuum on this one = A+. Using whatever that thing was to capture and hold the queens = hilarious!

    I am just watching the Zverev - Alcaraz Tennis match and the game got suspended because a huge bee swarm was attacking (a camera suspended above the field) and they had to wait for someone to come and vacuum them up as best as possible. Now this dude did this without a bee suit and without getting stung to Heaven and back so I am not sure if they were africanized bees, but there were a ton of them and they were swarming aggresively, so I am almost sure. Maybe would be interesting for you to comment?

    Failed at finding africanized bee this looks like a hive trying to swarm or supercede the queen -1. there is little brood -2. most of the bees are off the comb meaning way older -3 there looks like no organization meaning swarming or supercedure - really sad that people do not look at what they are learning

    • @mykoolgameacct9777

      Right. There's no such thing as "pretty Africanized". These are definitely not Africanized. Africanized bees do not calm down if you are tampering with the hive. Obviously this couple has good intentions but it's important to be accurate with the information you present. Thankfully they aren't like the fraudster guy who handles bees roughly and then calls them all Africanized so he can get views of his videos of euthanizing them. Despicable person.

    • @Mr.Mrs.BeeRescue
      @Mr.Mrs.BeeRescue  3 года назад +2

      Definitely not derogatory! They are a mix between African and European honeybees. We actually wrote a blog about them: sandiegobeerescue.com/bee-blog/what-to-do-when-you-come-across-an-africanized-hive

    • @kdc3440
      @kdc3440 Год назад

      Bees are essentially wild and if the Virginia queen mates with a bee that has the African honey bee genetics, the aggression gets bred into the colony. It's not a racial term here, just a reference a particular species of bee. They still make honey, pollinate and generally do bee stuff
