Hi Sonia, this is a debated topic. Many members our community suggested we avoid salt. But we used salt in foods we gave to our kids -
in only some specific foods like Uggu(multi grain cereal) Dal Kichidi, Mashed Curd rice, rasam and Sambar recipes. Of course in very small quantities. You may want to check with your family doctor too, just to make sure what is right. Thanks for the question!🙏👍🙂

As per pediatrician advice we cannot use salt and sugar up to first birthday.
Use jaggery instead of sugar
Better avoid spices til 10months.

can we give mashed food? actuall my baby 8 months old... if i dont blend the food... she will feel like vomit... what should i do to feel her comfortable? and is it ok if we habituate the blended food?

Should not add any salt to baby food. It affects their kidneys and causes hypertension during adult life. There is zero sugar and salt rule in baby food before 1 year. Even after 1 year they need less than a pinch of salt. Check with your doctors. Otherwise all recipes are amazing.

Hi Frozen, banana can cause more mucus to form. Not a good idea. Rice also has more sugar than other cereals like Wheat or Oats. But rice in moderate quantities should be okay. 👍😀

Hi Thanks for watching the video and the question. We started introducing hot spices to our kids when they turned 1. A piece of uncut green chilli and we took it out before mashing the food. Even though Chillis and pepper are healthy, as you mentioned, they can wait. It is optional.

Ladies lovely discussion about adding salt and sugar in baby food. Well nature has added natural sugars and salts in all what was being used to prepare the food in this video, so ideally adding extra is not logical and as per some Dr unhealthy too. But in India in certain culture we start spices, sweet and salt too. But I think if we think of it from the long term health benefits it's better avoided. However I think turmeric, cloves , pepper etc adviced as medication too in our Dadima's Kitchen, should be healthy and healing if used in proper quantity

The method is wrong. Uncooked salt is not good for any one so how can we add salt from the top. It should be cooked in the meal itself while boiling...

Hi Sandra, at the end? We might have added Clarified butter (it's called Ghee in India) It's usually added in small quantities to enhance the flavor and supply some good fat to kids!🌻👌😀👍
