The gap between consumer/prosumer gear and high-end Hollywood gear is getting smaller all the time. What a great time to be alive (at least when it comes to cinematography).
Armando, I would love to see your specific Lumix S5ii settings for this film. Would be possible for you to do a detail of your camera settings and post production for this specific film?
First of all, that you have made this with this Lumix is incredible! Secondly, I enjoyed so much more as so many films made with the very best Hollywood hardware, so, congratulations and time to make something longer and longer
Im so glad to have found this. Im new to lumix, but YT algorithm all of a sudden slap me with negative videos about the s5/ii. Like wth man, I just want to learn more about the panasonic community and the camera. This shows there is more to just having good camera. Great work!
@@mondobytes Dude it felt like I was watching a HBO Max show and episode that’s how great it was need to start doing these for the channel. They’re so good.
Great job Armando! Cinematography is beautiful. Colorgrade is fantastic. Audio, foley and music top notch! We have so many questions! Acting could be improved a bit and the pacing of the edit could be tightened up. However, you should be VERY proud of this piece of content.
I like it. I watched it side by side with the Gas station scene from No country for Old Men, and Gas station scene from The Hunt and it held up pretty good, my only beef being the fog was a little heavy and softened it a bit.
Wow... one of the best done short films I've watched here... especially the exposure, lighting, colour grading/LUT, film replication. I really loved the orange colours everywhere!! There's so much to learn from this!! Too good, Armando!! Thanks for sharing 🙏
Awesome 👍👍 Thanks for posting the behind-the-scenes journey and all the great small tips along the way. Lumix s5 ii - Dzofilm lenes very nice. Looking forward to the next project!!
Awesome video, love the camera as well phase detect is phenomenal. I forgot that I was even watching for the camera. Great short film. I will be getting the s5iix for automotive videography can't wait.
Wow, this was an awesome short. I'm torn between the S5mkii x and the FX3. I'm new to the world of moving image, as I look to move from still photography. I need a new passion. This was a delight to watch but you've certainly not made it any easier to make a choice 😁
For what it's worth, I have the S5 original and am delighted with the results. Mostly video (which is why I bought it) but stills are also no slouch. You might also look at the Fuji XT5 - my wife has the 4 and honestly, if we didn't already have one in the house, I might have gone for that instead of the S5. Absolutely zero regrets on my choice, but the Fuji color science is out of this world - especially for stills.
That was awesome! Well done. Please tell the owner of the Cineranch that the flag in the gas station is hung incorrectly. The stars are always oriented to the top left.
This is so dope, just great work. That shot at the beginning from the ground up, showing the pants and the shirt and all the clothes, no moire at all. That's impressive. I'm not really a pixel peeper, but I've been consumed with stuff like this for the last couple of weeks. I have to upgrade from my S5 because I need a camera that shoots straight 24fps. (I've been living a nightmare trying to get a proper DCP for a film I just finished shooting on the S5) I've been hesitant to drop money on this new S5ii or (the iix) camera because of the lack of an optical low pass filter. I've even considered going back to a gh5s because it has the filter. And it shoots 24. Or maybe an S1H, but I don't really want a camera that big and heavy. I've been using the S5 for a couple of years (love it) and I'm so used to full frame, watching this makes me feel a little bit more confident that these cameras control moire okay. Thanks for the awesome work as always.
This was a blast! Great job team!!
Came for the camera, stood for the story!
I think you guys at this point need to make full length movie. This was so great.
