Since the advent of the Dragon Ball Super anime, many things have been redefined. In the past, the Dragon Ball Z manga came before the anime. The manga is directly from the author who, in this case, is Akira Toriyama. However, now, Toriyama sends drafts for his storyboard both to Toei and Toyotaro who make the anime and manga respectively.
Toei is the company with a team of producers, writers, animators and directors while Toyotaro is one solo manga artist. The anime has been ahead of the manga and has already finished the most recent Tournament of Power arc which the manga still has to go through. The slight differences between the anime and manga have created some division among the community. There’s no clear definition of “canon” anymore. Rather than take sides, let us objectively review some of the MAJOR differences between the Dragon Ball Super anime and manga.

The only thing the manga has on the anime is using Super Saiyan God more. I really wanted more of it in the anime

@@realityxmm6247 the anime just did a bunch of random stuff really, for example didn't Goku go Blue like 5 or 6 times like right before the tournament of power even started and the logic of "consumes lot of stamina" isn't even bothered with until he's fighting Jiren and says he needs to save stamina but still turns ssj3 for like a small fight if I remember correctly.
I think the biggest difference that you missed was the Cell Jr's that Android 17 had tamed and kept on his island in the manga which never appeared in any form in the anime.

A nice difference in the manga, trunks told vegeta to fuse against zamasu but he refused to do so because of his pride, then trunks told him that bulma in her last days wanted to go back in time and meet vegeta, vegeta felt emotional and wanted to fuse with goku right away to defeat zamasu.
In the anime goku insisted that he fuse with him as it was the only possible thing to win against zamasu.
Not a major difference but i liked the development that vegeta had in the series and was shown in the manga in this scene.

The anime also had a couple of character development for Vegeta like when he went to the park and got angry when he heard future Bulma was killed but I agree with you

You guys have forgotten one. There’s also a big difference with Kelfa. While Goku did defeat her with Ultra Instinct in anime, the manga shows Gohan push his Mystic form to the limit by throwing her outside the ring.

At the start of the ToP arc, Jiren said there were only two opponents that were strong enough to need him to fight, Goku and Hit. So, therefore, the other pride troopers weren't considered strong enough to beat them. The only one who Hit could have improved with was Jiren, and Jiren was just too powerful.

For anime trunks.
He was being trained, properly and fully, long term, as a Kai replacement. So he never learned spirit bomb. but, he likely learned other methods. ANd that energy he had there was because the humans of that world have been thinking of him, and relying on him for many many years. So he kept gathering energy but never knew hot to release it and it just powered his body long term.
Kale definitely likes Califa more than a sister, at least it seems that way in the anime. It doesn't seem like Califa feels the same way tho. She only views Kale as like a sister. She seems completely unaware of Kale's feelings too.

For that to be true, Hit has to be using the improved 0.5 seconds Time Skip not 0.1. In the manga, it always was 0.1.

You're misunderstanding some things. When they say Hit "improved" they are talking about his use of his time skip ability, Not his power or speed. In the anime HE DID NOT improve his use of the time skip against Dyspo and Jiren, instead he simply got used to Dyspo's speed and Jiren's punches and tricked them both almost knocking them both off.
If they combined some of the things they did for both this DBS would be perfect

i think i understand a lot of these differences as things that pertain to their own art form. if you're reading a manga it'd probably be easier to pick up on more technical aspects of certain abilities, whereas in an anime what you're watching would probably need to have more visual flare

8:08 an important detail here is that in the manga, Zamasu ran out of time on his fusion because Goku Black doesn't count as a Kai. However, because he's immortal, he's fighting the split. So he's basically half split apart with some "goop" I guess connecting the two halves, trying to get back together. While that's going on, Trunks jumps in and fully slices him apart. So it makes sense that Trunks could do that without a power up, since Zamasu was already splitting and he just took advantage of the situation.

Zamasu is definitely a Kai (they say it somewhere) It's just that wasn't the SUPREME Kai of U10 that the time limit still applied to him.
As for why they didnt split the manga explains it as because they are the same person... So they just kinda refused to become separate and tgat the fused form was their real form.
Glad Toriyama listens to Toyotaro who is his #1 fan and see Dragon ball as most of us, who went through the entire manga of dragon ball, do.

I prefer the Anime it’s flawed but a lot of characters get moments to shine.
Moments to shine for the sake of simply writing them in as a sort of check list shouldn't be something to be happy with. As a fan of characters, you should want those characters to have more involvement, or not be written in at all. How Gohan goes out in the Anime, is one of the most insulting things to his character I can think of. Gohan, Goku, Vegeta and Frieza fighting off Jiren would've made for a better climax. And hell perhaps make Toppo's transformation seem more menacing by requiring the unlikely combo of Gohan and Vegeta to take him down. Listen, I'm just disappointed Super treats Gohan like goddamn toilet paper.

1. Thumbnail was comparing how Kale’s SSBESERK form is compared to Kefla just being SSJ. 2. He knows that. Lastly 3, Zamasu can be pronounced ZA-MA-SUE and ZIM-MA-SUE.
You forgot to mention that in the manga Goku uses HAKAI against Merged Zamasu. Which is a pretty important part that shows Goku has the makings of a God of Destruction.

Manga Goku also now knows the Hakai technique. He attempts to use it in the Black/Zamasu arc
Anime pros :
-The ssjblue kaioken is a neat idea and honestly the only anime form with a bit of sense
-in the t.o.p. nearly everyone has a moment to shine.
-The various Zamasus do have more backstory.
Manga pros
-Jiren has a personality and he's not stupidly op, he's THE strongest, but he too struggles.
-NO asspull transformations beside U.I. (Looking at Toppo's godly power-up, Trunks ssj "rage" and Vegeta's ssjblue+) and Kale's ssj Berserk is done far better, it feels like a new transformation, instead of a cheap femBroly rip-off.
-It features 2 nice fights : Vegeta vs Beerus rematch and Beerus vs everyone.

The Manga is consistently better than the anime. Everything people whined about in the manga is completely subjective because their favourite characters didn't get the shine they got in the anime. That's all.
The only parts that the manga fucked up is the Pride Troopers having issues handling base Goku but somehow handling Legendary Super Saiyan Kale and the Ultra Instinct Master Roshi. Everything else is logically sound and people are just butthurt that certain characters got axed.

The major problem is that for ToP, Toyotaro is having less time to finish the Manga and hence he had rushed entire Arc. If given enough time he can do far better.

Theres a lot of things I like in both the anime and manga over each other. Like i feel caulifla and kale were written better in the manga and the humans got more shine in the anime.
I thought trunks had the ability to heal in the manga due to being supreme kai apprentice just like zamasu being able to heal black because he was a apprentice too. If you gonna compare the differences between the anime and manga I think this would be one of the biggest differences in the future trunks arc

Did they forget that Vegeto can't defuse? Elder Kai said this in Dragon Ball Z Final Chapters. The only reason they defused in the Buu Arc, was because they were trapped in Buu's magical body. The magic defused them. But in the manga, they just defused for the sake of it, and in the show it was all changed to just last an hour. Poor writing man.

3:54 False in the time leading up toand in the T.O.P. arc proper, it was shown, (in the anime), that Hit kept improving his time skip to at 10 minutes plus when taking out the mobster, more so in his his rematch two parter against Goku in episodes 71 and 72, epecially so against Dyspo, and definitely when facing Jiren.
You're pulling that out of your ass. He didn't extend his time to 10 minutes. It was an unspecified amount of time at that point in the anime. Someone with super human speed can exploit even a 0.1 second timespan of freezing time.
Don't you know that when someone is moving so fast, everything they perceive appears frozen in time? Hit's super speed and time skip together makes it seem that he can freeze time for 10 minutes, but actually it's his super speed exploiting freezing time of at least 0.5 seconds.
Dark Glass I admit I estimated the amount time length despite my lack of number crunching or power leveling skills. It was still greater by the time he refought Goku in the two parter and more so when in the T.O.P.
While not stated it is obvious that he improved the amount since the Universe 6 vs 7 fight. Most likely thanks to his Self Improvement ability.
Also Hit was not using Super Speed to infiltrate the Mobster's building. He calmy took his time and walked straight past everyone. The fact it lasted as long as it did despite the speed he was going in proves this.
You do know that it's Dragon Ball right? Where hours in episode time equals 5 minutes in real time to them? 10 minutes to you may actually be Hit freezing time for 0.5 seconds + moving at super speed. There's no way to measure Hit's Time Skip at that point.
Dark Glass There is also the fact he also activated his Time Skip the moment the elevator arrived, then isolated himself and his target in a seperate dimension outside of Time Skip, had a full conversation with him, dodged his lazer, killed him, and left the entire building area. All within a single time skip still active. He obviouslly improved beyond mere seconds at this point. Especially when it comes the events of T.O.P.
That doesn't prove anything. If Hit can Freeze time for up to 10 minutes, then there's no reason why he should have been outed in the TOP, nor is there any reason for Universe 6 to lose all their remaining fighters while he was in close proximity near the climax of the tournament.
Hit could just freeze time to eliminate everyone other than Jiren, and Toppo and win the TOP for universe 6 because they have the most fighters remaining, and can just freeze time for 10 minutes at a time to move his comrades to other locations on the map whenever they're in danger more times than he did in the anime..
Your logic is flawed as there is no way he can freeze time for minutes at a time with Time Skip. Dimension or not.

Tbh I think the Goku Black Arc in the manga is better, while the Anime Versions of the T.O.P. and Universal Tournament are better than the Manga's Version.

The Goku Black Arc in the anime was far better, because there's actual character development for both Zamasu and Trunks. Manga Black was utterly pathetic and Fused Zamasu was absolutely zero threat, while in the anime both were significant threats.

In the manga, Kale and Caulifla are friends and Kale merely looks up to Caulifla. In the anime, their relationships differ from sub and dub. In the sub, Kale looks up to Caulifla like her older sister. In the dub, they're lovers, although it seems mostly one-sided.
Funimation has a bad habit of changing translations to suit their own agenda. Or at least that's been a recent thing.

I can’t agree with that. Definitely what’s happening in the Tournament of Power. Maybe the future trunks are was a little better in the manga though. Otherwise everything else I. The manga just seem rushed and underwhelming.
Lord, the differences you named aren't even that big changes that make it entirely different than the Manga. One being Goku's Hakai, and the other is Trunks being a Supreme Kai apprentice and has healing abilities.
Other changes--- Future Trunks' Buu arc is shown which shows Supreme Kai being killed in detail as well as explaining their relationship in better detail.
Present Gowasu is dealt a near-mortal blow by Zamasu in the future but is revived by Trunks
Frieza's "alliance" with Frost actually involves Z fighters being eliminated in the manga, in the anime Frost gets a cheap shot on Krillin without Frieza's help and doesn't do much with his help.
Goku uses Beerus' destruction technique in the manga on Zamasu, though it seems to be a different version of it.
Though never shown, its speculated that Fusion Zamasu has an extended but existent duration on his Potara fusion by Gowasu, as only one participant was a Kai. Goku and Vegeta plan to fight him until he defuses but don't manage to fight long enough to find out.
Goku and Vegeta only take one trip to the future in the manga, in the anime they take two.
In the anime, Whis goes backwards in time to stop Zamasu from killing Gowasu after witnessing it. In the manga, Beerus prevents the killing before it happens.
Most of the bigger differences seem to be in the time arc, but it comes together a lot more nicely in the manga with less plot holes.

You forgot to mention one thing about Trunks in the manga. Since he became the supreme kai's apprentice he had the ability to heal people, used it to save Vegeta and he used up all his energy to heal Goku's injuries and give him power.
