Just writing the lyrics so I can learn whilst singing !! We were playing in the sand And you found a little band You told me you fell in love with it Hadn't gone as I'd planned When you had to bid adieu Said you'd never love anew I wondered if I could hold it And fall in love with it too You told me to buy a pony But all I wanted was you
We were playing in the sand, and you found a little band, you told me you fell in love with it hadn’t gone as I planned. When you had a bid adieuuuuuuuuu, and you’d never fall anew, you told me to ride a pony but all i wanted was u. Mmm-mmm-mmm-mmm (ooh-ooh-ooh) Mmm-mmm-mmm-mmm (ooh-ooh-ooh) Mmm-mmm-mmm-mmm, mmm-mmm-mmm, mmm-mmm-mmm (ooh-ooh-ooh) Mmm-mmm-mmm-mmm, mmm-mmm-mmm, mmm-mmm-mmm (ooh-ooh-ooh) Ooh-ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh :)
For those who're having a hard time barring the frets in Bm and Bmaj I have a tip for you: Use a Capo, since this song is full of barre chords I suggest you to place a capo in the 2nd fret, Then play the A and Am chords, the capo acts like your other finger in this song. B minor and B major consist of barring a fret, thus using a capo on a certain fret and using A and Am chords as a replacement things will be easier for you. As for the F#6 and F6, change the chords to Eb6 and E6. This was a neat trick that I found and picked up on a certain play-along, it plays the same song too: ruclips.net/video/FvgtQ-ATPFM/видео.html But the capo placement is different.
3 years ago i was watching every single tutorial u posted, trying to master the uke. and look how much i love playing it up till tdy🤩 all thanks to you !! 🧡
Thank you for visually showing which strings are being held down, I have such a hard time remembering & following other tutorials because they don’t do that 💕
here’s a little tip for beginner players who are having trouble playing the b chord: you can tune your uke up two half steps and play the entire song down two frets (this is how i learnt to play this song lol). you won’t have to play the bar part of the b chord but you still have to be able to bar the f6 and f#6. idk i just found this method easier if you’re still learning :)
Currently, as I type this, this song has become popular and it's funny to me how the RUclips algorithim with spit this amazing artistry back out into the internet. I've been playing Ukulele for 5 years now and I'm only 13. This is my favorite song
:O pleasantly surprised with this tutorial, most people I know dont know about tally hall so this was super neat! Would you ever do a tutorial of Moon and Me from the Addams family musical?
Been watching other videos like the moon song some beginner stuff cuz im new to uke ure voice there eesh, ure voice now surprised the crap outta me with this one, good job sir
this also works well if you put your capo at your second fret. you play it the exact same way but with the b major and minor notes you dont have to lay your first finger along the second fret
Hey man, so many great covers and great teaching! I'm really enjoying this and really learning from you. Thanks! Could you maybe do "Danny Vera - Roller Coaster" sometime?
Omg I asked for this song recently thank you so much, I have your app as well. I was having such a hard time strumming. Best uke teacher out there next to Cynthia Lin.
I love this tutorial! You seem like you have 1000 ukuleles. can you do a video once, where you show us all ur ukes and tell us what you like about them? 💛
This was helpful, but there are two chords missing here. After the line, "You told me to buy a pony but all I wanted was you," It drops to what I believe is an F# (barring 1st fret with the index finger, ring finger on the G-string at 3rd fret, and middle finger on E string at 2nd fret), then jumps to a single strum while barring the 11th fret (Which I believe is a B6). As far as I can tell, this only happens once in the song, but for me it's an important moment that makes it all sound distinct. Also, I think in the original Tally Hall recording, the song normally ends on Bm, then there's just a little finger picking on F#6 and F6. I've also heard a cover that just ended on F# which sounded nice. Though really, you can sort of just end it however you want. In the demo recording for the song, it kind of just trails off as it keeps repeating the regular F#6, F6, F#6, F#6, F6, F#6, B, Bm structure. In any event, thank you very much for helping people learn the song. I just wanted to add my two cents for anyone who wanted to know that middle part. (Also, chuckled at the "And that is Tally Hall by Hidden in the Sand" flub at the end, lol. I love it when things like that stay in videos.)
As a guitarist that has experienced bar chords I can confirm it's a living hell but you learn to deal with it (idk why I'm putting this even tho this was posted 4 years ago lol)
