A break is better because it is 4-6 weeks and done, usually. Sprain is so much longer to heal. Good luck.

Ashlynn, I hope you feel better. I went through the same thing when I broke my ankle but I ended up in the hospital needing surgery but I’m OK now and I’m sure you will be fine.

I figured Ashlynn’s thumb was sprained so glad it’s not broke. Tina those sandals are like TEVA’s! Those are my favorite and I own 3 pair.

I’m sorry, I have a fractured thumb rn and i didn’t go to the doctor until 6 days after it happened and ice doesn’t help except help the swelling

When I started high school I injured my thumb. It was dislocated and cracked in two places. Poor DR. thought I was crazy I was laughing and crying at the same time. He had to pull it back in place. Wore a cast for 6 to 8 weeks.
Glad the thumb isn’t broken! I’ve bent my thumb back before, it hurts! It wasn’t quite that bad though. Who won the king sized candy bar? If it was said, I missed it.

So sorry about the thumb! My husband accidentally broke my pinky toe this past Sunday when he pushed the footrest back into the recliner and my toe got caught. 😭 so now I'm wearing a weird post-OP shoe

I just broke my thumb today it sucks, now I cant swim and have a fun summer it really sucks. I jammed it in the car door
I have a fused joint in my thumb and a few months after I had healed from that I broke my thumb right down the fusion line and the break took 12 weeks to heal.

My junior year of softball I broke my thumb (I was applying a tag to a girl sliding into 3rd base. Thumb was inside my ball glove even!) The tendon pulled and chipped off part of the bone. They put it in a splint for 2 weeks, and it didn't improve much. The swelling went down a little, so they did another xray and saw how bad the chip was, and it hadn't healed in those 2 weeks. So they casted it for 6 weeks. I had to miss the rest of softball season and wear a darn cast during the hottest months. No fun. You find out how much you really use your thumbs after an injury.
Tina it seems like every time you take one of your kids to the dr you are always in the same room with the owl.

😢👍😢👍. So sorry Ash but injury’s come with sports. A bad sprain IS the worst. A dislocation or break heals much faster. Rub pain creme, ice and wear the brace for relief. Protect joints for future. If coaches allow wear finger guards to help injury’s. I’m taking injections in thumb joint now just to be able to move it after so many bad sprains. Since all of you so active connect with a sports therapist for things to do to not only protect yourself but keep joints healthy. It does work!!!! Love the shorts. I love the cargo look the best. Rough not able to go to stores and all new rules too. Just have to get use to it cus not go away too soon. We have to wear masks anytime leave the house and everywhere we go. Just stay safe. How’s the new neighborhood and have dogs stayed in the yard?? Loving new house and all the new decor. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
