  • In this full #review I will explain all the specs of the 2024 BMW m440i convertible then take it for a test drive. The m440i gets an LCI (mid-cycle refresh) for 2024 which includes a updated 1-panel curved touchscreen, rocker to put the convertible in gear and outside updates but they still have quirks which will bring me to my pros and cons.

Have the 2024 M440i Convertible (stock). Put it on the track at Virginia International Raceway (road course) for a charity event. Although my first experience, I rolled behind a 911 that was not pulling away on the back stretch, which is 3/4 mile. Hit 130 on that straight coming off a 90 degree turn at low speeds. I was amazed...I realize there are much faster cars, but this car is a daily driver that is a blast and can hang. All for $20k less than the M4 Comp. I'm a happy camper..

I’m curious about your view on the 2025 redesign?
Also how is the breaking distance? My husband has a 2018 440i hardtop convertible and his one complaint is the breaking distance . I’ve decided to get a 2025 m440i convertible for me so I was curious about how you felt about this. We also have a 2020 z4 40i and a 2002 z3. He prefers the braking on both of those because they’re lighter and more agile. 😅

@@hojichaisfarsuperiortochai9309 I like the new lighting but I feel the new steering wheel isn’t as nice as the last gen m steering wheel. The dynamics has changed but you increase hp and torque. Tech I’m fine with the 24 model but if you need idrive 8.5 with a few updates like augment view that’s reworked and everything through the infotainment this will tick the box. The 48 volt mild hybrid system is in the 24 model too but this system has been reworked (giving extra power too). Breaking will not be as good as the z models 😁 they are fun vehicles and your m40i with the b58 I almost bought one. Overall it’s good stopping 70-0 is around 120ft on a curvy road it equals 5-15 mph faster than anyone in competition. Both will be very close to performance even with the increase in power for the 25 model but corning will be a little better in the 24 model.

@@HawkeyeRides thanks for your reply. I shared it with my husband. He loves all of his cars, but when I mentioned getting a second m440i convertible, he said it’s a nice car but it’s heavy. I’ve never felt that way when driving his. I think he’s still upset because I gave my m240i convertible to my brother for his daughter. That was a great car. Lots of power but still agile. Have a good day!

Thanks for the detailed review. I especially appreciate that you took the time to show the smaller features like the trunk, air vents, charging pad, storage pocket, etc. The backseat definitely appears to be cramped but who cares? I'm paying for it, so I'm always going to be the one driving it. As far as I'm concerned, the back seat is just extra storage space anyway.
In any case, the M440i certainly appears to hit the sweet spot for me. I'm sure a 430i with the M package would work just fine, but the base M440i includes those features already so by the time I add on the few options I want on the M440i it's only a few thousand dollars more and a much more powerful car. In other words, a better bang for the buck ratio, imho. The Competition model is sweet but way more expensive, and really meant for someone who has access to a track..
