  • French singer Charlotte Gainsbourg came by KCRW to record a short set of music from her new album, “Rest.” This is her first US live radio session behind this album, and it includes a very personal interview about the life events that inspired this record.

    Just getting exposed to Charlotte the last couple years, watching video of "Sylvia Says" and really diggin this vibe! Then I thought hey, is she an actress ? she looks familiar, like the girl that played Sean Penn's wife in 21 Grams, looked it up and bingo!

    What good is the song when the voice is buried behind the instuments

      usually true -but this is like a flury mix for the style -nothing technical.Like the observation

      That's more an issue with the audio engineer not balancing the sound properly rather than the song, itself. Unless it was a conscious sound choice like Coral Brune suggests, that is, in which case I've got nothing.
