It was the wrong song. Period. Bad timing.
Wrong song? Omg! He had everyone captivated including Katy herself. It was a positive, powerful, and was sung straight from his heart. When the original artist is so obviously touched and honored as she showed and spoke of those emotions, it’s not the wrong song.

In saying that, I thought this was by far Roman’s weakest performance, which makes me sad, because he’s a BRILLIANT singer.

@vee105105 so true it appears that the Best singers or the Best voices do not get enough votes mainly because I don't think there are enough ppl in their genre watching idol to vote for them and then the ones that are voting are voting on " whether they like you or not ! Or what race you are! You may be the better singer but you won't get votes from these ppl with that mentality they will vote for their own even tho they aren't the best " just because". For ex" there may be a beautiful attractive female that can really sing vs an attractive handsome male singer that can sing; well majority of females will vote for the male just because of spite and jealousy from women..etc..
This is the real winner. One guy they kept never signed up he came to play the piano for one of the people that audition. That’s why a lot of people stop looking at American Idol.

Roman Collins at the piano, really enunciating those lyrics, kinda gave me sesame street vibes. He got fiercer as he went along. Another wonderful arrangement that really showed off his uniqueness. He really made the song his own.

For a long time, I have let the behavior from others, that was absolutely undeserving, control my happiness. I’ve felt like I was the biggest failure ever for so long! Then I heard that my voice has meaning. Definitely not a singing voice, but a voice that I have the capability of using positively by helping myself to help others. THAT is magical!
