The prepoo actually works better on dry hair. Initially when I first put it on my hair it was damp, I didn't like it. I stopped, read the instructions and it says to put it on dry hair. I did so in the next section of my hair, and there was a BIG difference in the slip. Try it without dampening your hair first.
Same here as well. But I add on dry hair, then spray water on top of it, the results are awesome and surprisingly different if I had added on damp hair initially
I definitely agree with detangling with a rinse out conditioner, then deep conditioning! My hair is SO much more manageable and softer when I do the two steps!
I had been hearing rave reviews on the african pride pre poo. I tried it and saw why all the hype. I use it on my dry hair.. It does wonders. I was so impressed with it I plan to try some of their other products.
As far as deep conditioner, i stopped using regular conditioners . I thought it was redundant to do two. I dont want to over moisturize the hair because that can make it like mush. My wash day takes 5 hours already, i dont want any extra steps. I sit under the heat cap for 30 minutes. Hair is very moisturized. And shiny for several days. I never use a leave in conditioner. When hair starts to get dry, I will spritz it with water to add moisture.
I am currently using aunt Jackie's coco creme deep conditioner. I love the way it leaves my hair. Another good one for less than $4 is Hollywood beauty. Carrot cholesterol or olive cholesterol..comes in a large jar and works great. I love doing the deep conditioner with heat. It is such a spa treatment!

African pride really showed out with their gels. I tried the aloe and coconut water one and the black castor oil one. I love the aloe and coconut one with Jello shot and the black castor oil one for slicking down my hair. But they both preform well for wash n go! And also the size of the jar!!! For the price!!!!

I never use to think a conditioner was necessary but then I decided to try it out before I deep conditioned. It’s game changer, I use so much less DC !!! Especially my curl smith ones, they last so much longer now. I also still prepoo because it helps with detangling before hand.

I love the African pride prepoo! I use it on dry hair, but I mix it with olive oil.
I tried the pre-poo for the first time the other day but I did it on dry hair & it was a hit for me! Def need to check out their gels next. I started using Design essentials honey moisturizing shampoo and I can actually detangle with that as well #gamechanger for sure!
I also find I can't detangle with deep conditioner, I still use my tried and true Aussie moist 3 minute miracle cuz it gives all the slip I need then rinse that out and apply my DC. I've been trying to use my hair steamer to DC instead of my heat cap which I like but it's a process.
Oh and I also struggle with frizz at the front and crown of my head due to the dryer. I really need something with a much bigger hood 😩 love the video, IG brought me here!
I actually don’t detangle with a deep conditioner or rinse out. I finger detangle up until I put my leave in and then I’ll go in with a detangling tool. I usually get less shedding this way.
I tried detangling with a avocado oil when prepooing with a wide tooth comb and that was it, finger detangled through the rest of my wash day. I was surprised it worked
My hair is a lot finer than yours but I don’t use rinse out conditioners. I apply my deep conditioner, process it under a heat cap for 30 min and then detangle. Works great for my hair….way more slip after the deep conditioner has penetrated. You and your hair are both gorgeous by the way, lol! Thank you for sharing!

Try detangling your hair in the shampoo step. It makes detangling during the conditioning step a breeze.

I would try the DC-only with a different DC. I heard that formula is more similar to the older DCs for that brand-which are not great (even though I truly love Eden Bodyworks). I would either use the marshmallow DC from Eden or just a different DC. Miche is another good one. Or a Camille rose DC.
Your hair looks good. I use the taliah curly cream and it didn't do good. It left my hair dry and very frizzy. I will use the Africa Pride line. I have to pre-poo, shampoo, conditioner , deep condition then leave -in.

It's very drying on my hair as well but it does give great definition. It's not worth the brittleness for me.

Oh 100%! The curl definer & curl cream are soo similar! The coconut water leave-in is bae & goes with just about everything. Sounds like a bomb ass combo to me 😌 & I appreciate you 😭 ya girl is trying

Where did you get the African Pride gel? I live in the Midwest and have yet to see them in stores.

I never use a rinse out to condition. The treatment doesn’t work if you do, because the conditioner has already lowered the ph and cuticles of the hair!
I really need to change up my products. I've noticed when you wash your hair, your hair isn't frizzy coming out of the shower. My hair looks like a bird's nest 😫!!!! I'll try these products to see if they lay my cuticles down better!!!

@@CaramelCoils I realized it was my conditioner. Last wash day, I switched back to my old conditioner and didn't get as much frizz out of the shower. The new conditioner I switch to, tresemme is freaking awesome. Moisture the hell out of my hair (also stays conditioned until next wash day), but cause a hell of a lot of frizz. My old conditioner doesn't hold for more than 2 days but creates hardly any frizz. Ugh. This is why I HATE rinse off conditioners!!!! No happy medium. Both of them cause a lot of product buildup!!!!!

Do you stretch your hair every day until the next wash day?
Not every day, usually the first couple days..specifically if I'm going out. After a few days its more than likely in an updo so stretching isn't necessary

@@ThatGirlDemixo Anytime! & it does 😭 especiallyyy with Miami's humidity. I'm not sure if there's a way to truly combat that butttt if I ever figure something out I'll definitely update you guys!
