    This game doesn't get nearly the attention it deserves, so I'm glad to see there's still some amazing content like this on it. And I would absolutely love to see you beat the DLC at level 1!
    A suggestion, I found the music volume at certain points to be a bit too much louder than your voice's, mainly at the intro and outro. Maybe it's just me though.

    This video was very well done. Didn't show too much fluff, while also keeping everything important! My biggest criticism is just audio balancing. The music was a bit loud compared to your voice making it not the easiest to hear what's being said. I would also love to see this continue into the DLC epilogue. There's a particular attack from one of its bosses that I was only able to survive using Karma Scale.
    The best moment was easily tanking Shizuka's Ether Snipe with Guard Sphere. One of the highest damage level 3 combat arts from one of the hardest bosses in the game survived at level one with a level 1 _neutral_ art. The runner up is probably pause-buffering parries, since it's actually canon that Lea can react to input much faster than most people as seen in the instances where she's given decently long messages that she can process in a fraction of a second. So pause-buffering is actually kind of canon!

  • @brodyread9951

    That ether snipe thing being bested by a guard sphere seems like the kind of thing that would be entirely missed until some random Joe smogh pulls it out during the cross world pvp world championship or something

    In my opinion, guard sphere alone keeps the neural skill trees relevant throughout the whole game. Whilst it doesn't work for EVERY attack, the sheer wealth of damage reduction for 1 SP is something that I immediately admired on my blind, casual playthrough. I'm not as fond with its upgraded version, blade sphere (too expensive for my playstyle) but I still love how even the neural skill tree has unique moves that none of the other elements have direct comparison to (excluding iron ball to wave's, but to get the rickoshet effect requires tier 3 if i recall correctly and functions differently on hit, so it's a bit of a stretch.)

      I plan to make a level 1 challenge run summary video for the CrossCode DLC as well, it will just take a while to create because most of my free time is dedicated to developing a demo for Heartwell (an adorable souls-like action RPG with retro graphics, platforming mechanics, and a branching narrative). I'll still continue to work on the challenge run summary videos when I have the time, it's just that creating the Heartwell demo is my current priority because I've been working on it by myself for over two years.

    - Thumbnail game is on point! It's eye grabbing with the adorbz Lea picture, and some decent short textual clues about the video's contents.
    - Footage and background music are good. I like the fact that you include written information on screen (also the subtle jokes are adorable). The usage of music, including the way every song punctuates a different part of the video, is good.
    - Writing is good. Informative, straight-forward, and enjoyable. I learned a lot about the parts of the run from before I started watching your streams, and I finally found out when the "birth" of the pause buffering parry strats took place! I just wish you mentioned the amount of tries every boss/duel took, but that's a minor detail.
    - The comparison between O&S and Ape&Whale is one I do mentally everytime I get to that part in the game. Glad to see it mentioned here, lol.
    - I feel like you spoke a bit too fast at times, especially in the intro. Doesn't make it impossible to understand, but it does feel like you're rushing up a bit (mostly just the intro though).
    - I think the footage would look better without the stream overlays, but it's pretty much impossible to remove them, so it's okay.
    Overall, I think the video is really good. Well edited, informative, fun to watch. There are problems, but they're minor. I wish to see more of these in the future. I'd love to see a breakdown of the VICIOUS Di'orbis fight in the DLC in this style if possible.

    • @antomicx1
      @antomicx1  2 года назад +7

      Thank you for the detailed feedback and compliments! Yeah, in hindsight I can see how the intro voiceover could be a bit fast at parts, though admittedly that was the first set of lines I recorded for the video. For the later sections, I decided to speak a bit slower, so that might be a better pace overall for any future videos.

    4:20
    Winning the temple mine race is simple~
    Get to the end in under 90 minutes.
    The better question is, how you did that, and that probably comes from knowing the puzzles :P ( as usually the main way ppl get stuck and run out of time is a puzzle they cant solve quickly)
    (
    The other times are: 60 minutes first half of the 'cold' dungeon; 50 minutes the second half the 'cold' dungeon (which means only the second half the temple matters for the race lol)
    60 minutes for both shock and wave dungeons (heh, this time my nameing scheme does still work with perfect understanding lol.)
    and... some.. amount of time for Grand temple first half, 30 minutes second half.
    )
    13:00
    something of note:
    shielding in this game is very, very overpowered.
    if an enemy has a natural shield, it can survive sergy's hacks easily
    25:30
    ??
    There is a checkpoint at the halfwaypoint?
    albiet its the only checkpoint but its much better than none...
    or, did you just do this to yourself..?
    unrelated but my favourite NG+ combo is sergy hax + PREPARE TO HI!

    Omg I loved this video so much!!! The pacing, the editing, the humor, the narration- all of it was great!! My favorite part that got me hooked and felt like you established your own personality in this challenge video opposed from others is the edited dialogue boxes- it's so fun!!! I literally go out of my way to pause and rewind the video to see what I missed, cause it's always worth it!! It's such a harmless addition, too- if the viewer isn't interested in them, they're not forced to like it. The video moves on without them and it's just- perfect. I've been meaning to watch it for a long time until I finally beat the game!!!

      Thank you for the compliment, I'm glad you enjoyed the video! For the intro, I used the Title theme from the 2013 tech demo of CrossCode. Search "crosscode title (techdemo++, 2013)" and it should appear near the top of the search results. i thought that a level 1 run would be impossible but surprisingly, it doesn't look like the difficulty is *much* different. though the damn wiccat sections are infinitely harder thanks to no clone dash wave arts or dash arts in general.

    I don't think that it's possible to clear the DLC as a level 1 in crosscode.
    1: Super Apollo
    2: Super Dungeon Boss
    3: DLC gear scales with level and stat requirements skyrocket.

    • @antomicx1
      @antomicx1  Год назад +1

      Regarding your points about completing the CrossCode DLC at level 1 (spoilers below)...
      1. Winning the Apollo duel is optional, and I wouldn't be too invested in winning it at level 1 because most of the DLC gear scales down due to our low level and thus isn't helpful.
      2. Di'Orbis is possible to defeat at level 1, but it is very involved. Going over everything that went into defeating Di'Orbis at level 1 will be a significant portion of the DLC video.
      3. While ascended gear is not helpful at level 1 due to the scaling, the Thrashing Ripper is essential for the hardest mandatory boss battles (especially Di'Orbis) due to its incredible melee damage.

      Indeed, it was by far the longest boss battle in CrossCode at level 1! I've never died during the Ultimate Experience boss battle, so I'm not sure if there is a checkpoint at the halfway point. Since it took almost an hour to beat though, I don't want to test it for obvious reasons.

      The "Ultimate Experience" does have a checkpoint at the transition going into Mr. Gano- I mean, Elephantè. I haven't done any labbing for what may or may not invalidate this checkpoint, so I would err on the side of caution and

      @@antomicx1 fair enough. I'm at fault for forgetting dash arts exist for combat purposes instead of just faster overworld movement, never learning how the parry type guard arts work exactly, and completely forgetting perfect guards were a thing. I was thinking of doing a Level 1 game because of how much I ove this game and I found this amazing video about it.
    The final move of Shizuka, the snipe thing... can it really not be dodged? Maybe I'm misremembering but I swear I've dodged it in the past.
    Regardless, AMAZING VIDEO. I loved every part of it and it's definitely gotten me interested in trying out the challenge... And even moreso because I want to try my hands at the final boss with this! And I mean the actual in-game final boss.
    Final note: Emilea4EVER INDEED

    • @antomicx1
      @antomicx1  2 года назад +1

      I'm glad that you enjoyed the video, and you should totally do a level 1 run if it interests you! I'm unaware of any way to dodge Shizuka's Ether Snipe, much less if it can be dodged consistently (one lucky dodge isn't enough to win the PVP battle).
      Regarding facing the in-game final boss at level 1 (I'm assuming you are referring to Di'Orbis), feel free to refer to my stream archives of playing the CrossCode DLC at level 1 if you want some tips about that. I haven't made a challenge run essay video about the DLC yet, but I can tell you from experience that defeating Di'Orbis at level 1 requires a lot of preparation and practice. It might not be as long of a fight as the Creator, but Di'Orbis is easily the hardest mandatory boss in CrossCode (and I would argue that its more challenging than any boss I've faced in FromSoftware's Soulsborne games). The learning curve for defeating Di'Orbis at level 1 is insane, but it's also the most satisfying battle to win in the entire game.
      I'm glad you picked up on the Emilea4EVER easter egg, it was really fun to edit that into the loading screen and Shizuka's pause menu dialogue!

    • @BillErak
      @BillErak 2 года назад +1

      @@antomicx1 Oh, I'll definitely refer to that then, sounds cool asf. And Di'Orbis is the ENTIRE reason I want to try my hands at this challenge. Every time I fight him and win a side of me asks for MORE. Knowing it can be done makes me even more pumped to try!

      @shalvei_ Год назад

      @@BillErak iirc I've managed to perfect guard the entire snipe with my Royal Guard + Riposte build a couple times but it was unreliable, you can also dodge by dashing normally but it comes down to timing before she does the art and whether the dash is off cooldown (could have maybe depended on being in the middle of a dash when she does it, even?). Outside of that I've seen another comment mention T1 dash arts giving instant s, or you could tank the art by switching to wave element (elements give resistance to themselves, although I'm not sure to how big of an extent at lvl1 since a bunch is skill tree related)
      I know this comment is 7 months old just wanted to give my own 2 cents

    At the part about Shizuka's aether snipe, I was expecting you to use a different method. The fire and ice dash arts, even their level 1 versions, provide I-frames for their (short) duration. And when the I-frames end you're standing nowhere near where you started. So I assume if you timed it right you could bypass even that attack. I did a playthrough with the infinite SP and 1-hit-KO modifiers and leaned heavily on those dash arts for almost every single boss. Though to be fair I had the liberty of spamming them and did enough damage that she probably never got to use that attack.

    10:29 I almost beat apollo with a completely different gear setup. I maximized brawler instead of shooter and didn't have adept gloves. I got all the way to the last phase and died to the homing attacks.
    21:44 I recently learned that attacks will still damage your shield even if perfect blocked. Tried blocking this and it broke my shield near the end of the attack because my defense was too low.

    • @antomicx1
      @antomicx1  2 года назад

      It's really impressive that you got that far in that battle with a brawler setup! Yeah, Apollo's homing volley attack is vicious, but it is avoidable with the right positioning and dash timing. I wish you all the best with your future attempts to defeat Apollo!

    Honestly, this is less of a "can YOU" and more of a "can *I*" beat CrossCode at level one.
    It's not, like, a question to be *answered* but a personal challenge to oneself that other people have already done, and will do again, frequently.
    Or maybe my sample size is unbalanced due to being in the official CC discord.
