It seems like such a fun game, I wouldn’t mind seeing a “low percent” type run where breaking is allowed but SGM tries to avoid it, basically how many breaks does it take to be CrossCode
It warms my heart to see more people challenge running this masterpiece of a game! For those who are on the fence about playing CrossCode, I would wholeheartedly recommend trying it!

Crosscode just happened to be exactly that. Bought it almost immediately after and now it's one of my favorite games ever! Thanks for introducing me to it!

WOW, I DIDN'T KNOW IGNORING THE MAIN MECHANIC OF A GAME THAT IS PRETTY MUCH REQUIRED TO BEAT THE FIRST FEW BOSSES BEFORE THE CENTURY IS OVER AND TO KILL ENEMIES WITHOUT WANTING TO KILL WHOEVER MADE THEIR AI WOULD BE THIS HARD! But seriously, this was fun to watch and I liked it a lot. Keep up the amazing work
Hey, one thing you can do if you're crazy enough to do this challenge,is DAC, or Dash attack-cancels. When you spam Left click, you do your Melee combo. When you dash (right click), you cancel the melee combo you're in. If you dash into the enemy, you don't move anywhere. So, if you spam the melee combo, dash immediately after the combo finishes, then spam the melee combo again, there's NO end lag. Free dps. Also this game is so good y'all get it
i would honestly love to see another video on this game past that point, especially since you seemed to like playing even if we dont get a "no break" run, a minimum or 1 break run would still be awesome to see
Yo holy shit, never thought I’d see anyone cover Crosscode! Easily the most underappreciated game I know and quite possibly my favorite, so glad this game is getting more publicity recently
I loved this video and watched it all the way through :) I would love to see a follow up video of seeing how little breaks are required to beat CrossCode!!
yooo was not expecting a crosscode video out of you but im not complaining, this is easily in my top 5 favorite games and this challenge is very interesting.
Even if it hadn't been at autumn's fall, it is actually impossible to kill the big slime boss in so'najiz, since it takes zero damage unless broken, unless you get very specific conditions (that are extremely difficult and probably impossible in a playthrough without NG+)
Yknow, this is the video that made me get the game, and when I did, I made a horrible mistake with getting it on Console, because it took a few months for the DLC to come out. Once it did come out though, I picked it up again and quite literally played for almost 48 hours straight.
So I saw this challenge and went to check my Xbox because I swore I’d seen it before. And it was on Xbox gamepass. Needless to say I’m now gonna download it.

Likely because this game is really good. I'm honestly happy he made a video on it since now it gets to a much wider audience, and I love the game already.
Spoilers for the video I actually said “Noooo” out loud when he had to break the baby pillar, it seemed like the challenge was going so well so far Also overly tedious is worse than very annoying imho
I can't say I've heard of this game before, but after watching this video, I'm definitely interested. I hope you have some time to recover from the challenge, though.
You know... I'm currently at the part where you used the guard sphere to fight the mini boss in the temple mine, and I was just thinking that you should've put points into getting the skill in the guard portion of the circuit that reflected 30% of guarded damage back onto the enemy. Using guard sphere to not flinch, and reflecting that damage (which I believe bypasses defenses without causing the break bar to fill) would probably have shaved off quite a bit of time.
I half attempted this because i was too lazy to break most enemies, i just tought "If i spam enough it will eventually die" I didn't count on the fact that i suck at bullet hells
My top favorite game being made into a ridiculously difficult challenge, tbh I suffered this challenge at the start of the game where I was new and have little to no knowledge of the enemies and lack of combat skills
Amazing vid! Would be interested in a “how many breaks are required to beat crosscode” as a future sequel to this also if that’s ever something you wanna do to return to this game for challenges perhaps.
I don't see myself doing this. The main appeal was finding if it's possible or not at all, beyond that the gameplay doesn't have much besides simply mashing attacks for double-digit minutes with the Burn status there and there.
I love CrossCode, sadly RUclips didn't notify me when the video was released... No-Break challenge is a very painful one, you need to know what breaks an enemy and consciously avoid them, and I wouldn't be able to do it even if my life depended on it.
Do it. if you still need to be sold, the newgrounds demo is still up (and doesnt require a flash emulator). The charming dialogue alone is worth the price of admission.
Apologies if this is covered in the video since I'm only at 8 minutes: Pin Body would've saved a decent amount of fight time I believe (though it doesn't work for several bosses and would require more healing items until you also get the guard power improvement). Well maybe you'll get lucky and the devs will let you piddle damage the pillars lol...
I tried Pin Body and it didn't really work. Many attacks from the Digmo for example knockback Lea and can't be blocked. Even then the one attack I could block only dealt back single digit damage with 35% pin body. Could maybe work against Magmamizer if you try to block as many fireballs as possible but there's still Frozen Star to deal damage anyway.
