I didn't like it very much at all unfortunately! I really wanted to. I had the standard version for a while. I do love the blade shape and the opening hole is great. As for downsides the scales feel cheap and slippy, they are far too thin/flat/wide for me, so in a tight grip the handle kind of slips away from you. To compensate for the lack of grip there is really aggressive jimping which does it's job but is quite uncomfortable and it tore up my jeans in a week. The action isn't very smooth and so the pivot requires frequent oiling. It's currently £100 on HH... to me I feel like we should be getting a lot better and for a lower price! TA Junzi is similar in concept, more comfortable, better action and cheaper. If you go the other way for 60-70 more you can get a hoo knives (I mean cmon! what an upgrade). Any one else agree with me? Like I say I wanted to love it but I feel there are a few major design issues with it.
Great video. I'm in the market for my first pocket knife. This is top of my list. Where did you pick this up from? What do you think about the BYRD ROBIN 2 G10 FOLDING KNIFE?
That really is a huge compliment!! It’s the closest thing we will get to having a Para 3 over here!! I’m so glad I found it with that clip man, such a steal considering I only paid £80 😂
it's the only knife i've been carrying for the last 4 years. i've got the basic BDS1N blade the SPY27 blade the CPMS110V blade and the MAGNACUT blade. i love this knife. the blade has 2 cutouts and the back spring has a small block on the end the slots in to the cutouts, this acts as a double dtent. only the BDS1N has the original handle on it now. i have the titanium scales that Heiney Haynes does and the other 2 from vaporpuffin, 1 denim micarta and the other stabilised dyed birds eye maple. that one is on the MAGNACUT as it's my edc. the scales from vaporpuffin i did got for the 5mm ergo option and i added titanium scales as well just to bulk it out so it feels better in my meat hooks for hands. the leaf shape blade is so versatile and just works and extremely well. i know Spyderco also has the Lil Native Slipit available for the uk legal carry option which is a slightly smaller blade but there is just something about the UKPK that has just stopped me buying any more legal carries, i just don't need anything else.
I’ve gotta say it is a fantastic little knife. I do seem to be picking it up more and more as the days go by and everything else collects dust 😂 I wanna get a few bits from vaporpuffin asap! His products are incredible, I met him at sharp show and was having a good old chat to him!
@@TedHowells yeah i wish i could have gone. Maybe next year finances will be a bit better. The only other edc item i carry is the little Gerber Chonk mini prybar with bottle opener.
Man i would be so in for a Heini ukpk but I can’t get one. Never in stock. So I got me a magnacut one and slapped ti scales on it. Guess I’m fine but still want this one just because.
I've got the HH one and the S110v version, don't waste money on the HH version, get the S110v knife, it's much much better,, I use the HH one as a beater, and the blue one for "best *,, ps,, wanna buy the red one,??? 😅😅
@@TedHowells Also i just bought 1 but sending it back for the Byrd Turn because the metal is actually over 3inch, in a court i bet you would be in trouble, the info stated is for the centre of the handle to the tip and they dont even get that right, its 7.6cm not 7.4, at the bottom of the handle to the tip is actually 8cm, im not going to chance it
Just my opinion, but I disagree with most of this. A strong slipjoint is more dangerous than a weaker one to me, because when it does move, it fires out suddenly with a spring force like it has a mind of its own. A weaker one only ever moves under my control, so it's predictable. I also prefer a weaker pocket clip so it's easier to put on and off and so it doesn't ruin clothing. And made in the US means nothing to me when I'm in the UK.
What do you think of this little beast? I genuinely don’t think it get much better. Or am I wrong? 🤨

Best uk legal knife is the Spyderco PITS or a Twisted Assisted Atlas
I definitely prefer this to the atlas

The S110v version is much better than this one, it's much lighter and the steel is fantastic,
Looks great. Reminds me of a none locking PM3 and that’s a huge compliment! What a find with that clip!

It’s my favorite carry and I’m in the states. Just a perfect knife, especially with some ti scales.
Perhaps you should have done some research before you did video ??
I've got one on the way, got the salt version in magnacut during blade hq's black Friday Dale for $85!!! the best version was the cheapest 😅
Oh what a steal! I really want to get myself a Magnacut version! Great find!
Managed to get a magnacut last week. Had sworn off spyderco but magnacut on a ukpk dragged me back into the fold.
The S110v version is much better, the HH one is inferior in every way,, imho,,

They’re so hard to get hold of! I was super lucky to get this one but I do want to get some aftermarket scales now!

It is a slipjoint though
Is it?
@@TedHowells The backspring is forked so the only moving part is internal, but it is a slipjoint.
@skislope4218 got you! Good to know 🙏🏼
