Just came across this hike. Thanks for taking me along. Memories galore for me growing up in Duluth. I could smell the earth under your feet. So special. So beautiful. Lovely narration and photography. Cheers and good hiking.
I asked the rangers on Isle Royale how they get the lumber into the backcountry for all the plank bridges. They said it is air dropped and cached at strategic locations
I lived and worked at a resort on Snowbank in the 90s. The story I heard about the saw blades was they were left when Theodore Roosevelt stopped the logging back there protecting the pines that make up the old pines loop.
I love the late fall light filtering through trees , it changes the look of the landscape. The cinematography of this video was awesome. I also enjoyed your real feelings narration. You captured all of the emotions that a hiker experiences.
@Midwest Backpacker thank you so much! If you ever want some more remote hiking, definitely come to Maine. This trail reminds me a lot of the North Maine Woods!
I went to hike the kek a few years ago. I brought a bottle of whiskey and blood on the tracks by Dylan. got fucking lit by myself in the woods the 2nd night. Hard hiking the next day, wouldn't recommend
Awesome video Jeremy. The scenery and sunsets was beautiful. Plus you had me laughing too. Really cool video and great job on the miles 👍🏻👍🏻 NO REGRETS 😁
I don't like out and backs either but the logistics of doing this one one way were too difficult. Since I was walking so fast, I caught lot of things I missed the first time.
There are definitely bears in the area. I don’t think having it hang will attract more bears than not. Plus hanging it a healthy distance from camp will attract them to the bag an not you. Plus, hopefully it makes it more difficult for them to destroy the food. Good question. Thanks for watching.
@@MidwestBackpacker hey thanks for the response just trying to plan a trip up there this summer with the kid we got a hike in permit should be a good time.
I worked up on the Gunflint a couple years ago and my fiancé and I are hiking this trail this summer starting and ending in Ely just like you. Thanks for the video! I really appreciated it as we’re planning this and other trips. What hammock do you use?

I'll have to do a trip up to the BW someday. Shug told me that I'd love up there.
Great video....loved it and recognized a few places from recent trail clearing trips.
Thank you for your trail work.
I really enjoyed the photos, nice job Almost. Beautiful area to hike, couldn't believe the bridge and falls back there!
You are a machine, I don’t know how you do it. And you make excellent videos. Wow well done !
Thank you sir!
I can’t pronounce lake whatchamacallit either lol. Nice challenge hike. Perfect seclusion. Great overlooks.
We just call that lake Gabi. 8-)
YES!!! A big juicy cheeseburger 🍔! Nuthin better. Great 👍 job! A real accomplishment! I was with you all the way (video wise).
Fantastic video. Beautiful area, very similar to the 6.2 million acre Adirondack Park in NY.
Thanks for sharing.
Such a good and challenging trip. Glad you took us along. I’ll be on that trail eventually. Cheers.

Gotta get down there to hike the BWCA/Minnesota one of these years. The Land of Shug haha. What’s that on your sternum strap? A microphone?
Bluetooth speaker
I've been enjoying your videos! This is another good one! What is the green hoody you are wearing? It looks so comfy!

Thanks. Sad I missed the Gorge this past weekend.
@@MidwestBackpacker it’s ok. Maybe next time. I’m really wanting to see your area. That was a beautiful area you was in. Love those sunsets
Nice work on the 4 days 💪🏻I’d like to hot this trail and it gave a good rundown on what to expect. That remoteness sure does ware on a guy quickly.
Beautiful trip...I am not personally a fan of 'out and backs' and that was a loooooooooooonnnnnnnnnngggggggggggg one Bro.

if i could ask. which map did you download/ purchase on avenza? my guess is either of the east or west superior national forest maps..
I really enjoyed your video a lot. The KEK, BRT, and SHT, is deffiently on my list. What Avenza map section is this ?
It’s in the video description. Thanks for watching!
@@MidwestBackpacker I will take a look, thanks, for the inspiring content. I really admire a lot your fortitude to do this hike.
Have you had any problems with bears up there I know you hang a bear bag but do you feel that it’s just a air magnet for them when it’s in the tree.

Warbonnet outdoors ridgerunner
Atta boy!
What GPS/program did you use to locate yourself on the map?
Avenza Maps and Gaia GPS. Good Luck!
I have made that same mistake on that fork and ended up at Snowbank Lake.
Find my sunglasses on the north side of the trail 2-3 mi in? Lol
Those were yours? JK
I just called it Gabby, but I like GetchoMama much betterer.
😂
