I was at that same campsite (13) with my girlfriend back in 2010. We stayed up late and we both thought we saw a UFO. It was a huge ship on the lake. It looked like a spaceship hovering between the distant hills. Such a fun memory.

I hope to see you sometime on the trail. I live in Silver Bay and hike a lot back in those areas. They are starting to get crowded during peak times. Advice from a resident: Keep the dogs on a leash and pick up after them! Don't strip the trees around the campsites, hike back 10 minutes, you'll find plenty of firewood.

I hiked pretty much the same section in the summer and fall of 2023 with two good friends. We started at the Beaver Bay trail head and went north all the way up to Sonju Lake Road. There are some spectacular over looks on that hike, and yes I would say it will challenge you along the way.

Quick question. I am a experienced hiker but I have just gotten interested in backpacking. I was planning on starting in and grand portage and hiking along the superior trial until a trailhead in Duluth. The only problem is that the website says there are no campsites. Do you have any experience with the part of the trail and know where to camp. Thank you

I ran into you , Toots, Krusty and Mule on Memorial weekend a couple years ago. We camped together at Onion River CS. I have been watching your and Rpelton1 videos every time you guys post one. I mostly enjoy them, however I have one piece of constructive criticism..... more trail and views without you hiking thru them. The deal where you guys put the camera in a spot and than hike to or past it is VERY old. Otherwise I love your videos. Try one that features the outdoors not you. I hope we bump into each other again some day. Also, if you haven’t yet try the Great Smoky Mountains. My family did it this spring and it is awesome.
